Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Lever will dramatically improve our chances of rising up the ladder rather than falling. The FD have chosen a proven A grade 21yo player with lauded leadership skills rather than gamble on picks 10 this year and ~14 next year. If it were a top 3 pick I might be disappointed, even then we haven't had too much success there, but Lever is a very good player ready to make immediate impact that will improve us dramatically. We've used high draft picks often enough of late. Now wouldn't it be nice if Balic proves to be a little surprise packet!

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Given he grew up in Romsey, my guess is that the club will billet him out to Demonland's own Romsey royalty. A couple of months at the Manor and Lever will surely become a greater deviant than Col Silva. Make sure you at least keep his fitness levels up Uncle Bitter

You're welcome

Living up to your name mate.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Agreed. Plus whatever we get for a Watts trade, presuming this happens. Think we are planning something else significant before trade period ends

Rather than look it as 2 x 1st rounders, look at what number the picks are. So over two years it's a pick 10 and (arguably) pick 14 with a swap of later picks. And we get the best young defender in the game, recently in AA squad, massive leadership potential.

Then 18 and 27 to lure a yet to be mentioned mid?

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Not to mention the humility gland

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Which is stupid because the Cows could use 10 and 2nd rounder to trade for a nifty mid or maybe draft Gus' bro. Seems dumb to slow the boat to a halt when Lever is pizzed off and has said he will go into the draft

Your barking up the wrong tree there dc

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Agreed. Especially talking to the media. Leave the talking to the clubs or maybe Jake

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Possibly. Case by case, of course. Tom Mitchell may well prove to be worth 2 X first rounders, more so than Omeara.

Comparisons with the Danger trade are not valid. Danger was a RFA and the trade was done so the Cows would get something reasonable in return. They were never going to match Cats offer, especially given their pissweak policy of paying their stars sfa. Danger had also given them many years of A grade service, not 50 games, so they expect greater trade return for years they will miss from Lever.

That would be draft tampering. The rules have toughened up on this. More than likely Lever and MFC would be heavily penalised

Pick 10 or nadda. Hardball. Overs according to their own last two B&Fs. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Anyone who thinks that B&Fs are influenced by nothing more than player performance are fools. Adelaide have stupidly reduced his trade value in the name of revenge. Dumb footy!

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
FMD! Jake, get outta there as quick as you can. What a bunch of hypocritical whingers! Not worth much, but we'll have 2 first rounders and btw don't go near the B&F. All class. Welcome to the bosom of the MFC Jake. You're part of the family now.

Mainly due to BT saying very little, thankfully

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Sure, except the AFLs trade integrity guy has to sign off on any player movements as being fair and reasonable, which that isn't. He's knocked back deals before.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Not apples with apples. Danger was a free agent. In Taylor we trust.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Different game back then. Not apples with apples. The kid needs more than a couple of years and a handful of games.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I've seen Weid get into good position in front many times. His issue is he hasn't the body yet to hold his ground. He gets pushed aside too easily. Greater strength, particularly core strength, will improve this. I've also noticed his tackling is good for a player his size.

Not you, lol! Enough mate, move on

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
You know more than Terry Wallace and Jon Pierik because you claim your bro is an AFL recruiter?! Lol! Sure, as long as you say so mate Regardless, I'd like us to keep our 2018 1st round pick to get some of this "really high end talent", arguably the definition of a super draft.
