I've got the same feeling.

That's just the mentality of a lot of supporters. Melksham will be booed when we play Essendon in 2016, even though all of their supporters say he's a complete spud

While I agree with you to a certain degree in that he is now not seen as the Messiah, the 23+ pages on this thread plus the number of other threads dedicated to him on this forum indicates that supporters still place him under a microscope and critique every one of his actions. No matter what he or the team does from this point forward, I am confident that he will be heavily scrutinized until the day he retires.

Seasons Greetings to All Demonlanders

I hope that everybody has a great and safe Christmas. Thanks to all for your contributions to Demon discussion. -
That's a pretty random fact

I watched a clip of Jesse Hogan on AFL360 after his Rising Star win. He said that the club is only bringing in players with a competitive nature when recruiting, rather than putting the most emphasis on skill. While this is something that is obvious to most of us, it gave me renewed confidence in our list building strategy having heard it straight from a player. I think that competitiveness is something that drives loyalty in football, as most players want to be a part of the rise and see out all their hard work, rather than jumping ship to a club that's already successful. While it may be harder to achieve the ultimate success by starting at the bottom and remaining with a team through lean years, if you can be part of the change the reward will be that much greater.

If I'm right in my reading into your posts, I would think that it would be the player that most on here would have guessed it to be without any clues. Not much of a surprise, really, given that the same coach that halted his AFL career the first time around will be the one to call an end to his AFL career at the end of this season (he effectively already has). -
No arguments from me on that point.

He didn't need to say anything. He was the one that wanted to do that press conference. He handled the whole situation very poorly, and it is for that that I despise the little rat.

Which will mean that we'll be able to fit Wines, Prestia and O'Meara in addition to keeping all our young guns.

Not leaving much mystery as to which of the two players it is, C&B! -
Was also third at the club for goal assists.

Jurrah..The Biggest Comeback Ever?

It seems like this is an annual story. Can't see it happening. -

Based on the quote from his manager, it seems the club's asking price for him was a first rounder. Other clubs may not see him as being worthy of a first rounder, but if they knew we weren't going to give him up for anything less, then they probably felt their time and efforts were better focussed elsewhere. I'm willing to bet that if Watts does leave the Dees at the end of the season (which I think is likely), he will sign with another AFL club. I highly doubt that this season will be his last in the AFL, like many on here are suggesting.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, 3Dee...we're still tied for last in the league on points, and our current goaltending stocks do not inspire a great deal of confidence. I'm happy that we're competitive in most games and that a few players (like Leo) seem to be thriving under Babcock, but I think we'll be down near the bottom for the rest of the season. I'm okay with that though...word is that Auston Matthews is a decent player, and if we can somehow add Stamkos as well we'll be in decent shape heading into next season.
