Why not? If we're allowed a top-up player, he'd be worthwhile putting on the rookie list while we upgrade Michie or White. He's as fit as anyone, is a proven leader, knows our game plan, knows our coaches, knows our players etc etc etc.

Gravity wouldn't get a game if I were coach and picking from a full list. Personally I prefer Pedersen/Frost, I've heard Hulett is training the house down and could be worthy of a shot, I'd even rather have someone like Garland or Dunn up there if they could be replaced down back. There is just no value to a key forward that can't hold a mark.

Agree. Roos talks about not wanting to put too much pressure on young players, and for an MFC player, the Queen's Birthday is about the most pressure-filled environment that a young player could debut in.

We're allowed one upgrade prior to round one anyway, so if the AFL were to allow us a bonus upgrade then two of White/Wagner/Michie/King would be on the senior list. I'd still like a top up player to substitute for Melksham should he be suspended. It wouldn't be fair for the Bombers to be allowed to add players to complete their list while we are a man short (even with the rookie upgrade). All hypotheticals at this stage.

You're right. What's the point in even doing a preseason? The AFL doesn't award points to teams that have the fastest 3km time trials or best skin folds. Might as well just have the players hit the pub from October-March rather than doing all of this pointless fitness stuff.

I am a Canadian Generally they're very good internationally, but domestic is hit and miss I guess. Anyway, at least you didn't have to deal with United!

Given that it's an opinion piece it's likely that everyone on here will be able to think of a couple of games that should be on the list as well as disagree with some that did make the cut. It's just an off-season fluff piece, but it's fun to read and try and think back on some of our best wins given that we haven't had very many in recent times.
