  1. Just because we benefited from him leaving doesn't mean that we can't despise him and insult him at any and every opportunity.
  2. Yet another opportunity for Demonlanders to give their two cents on Jack Watts. Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts again!
  3. 7 games against clubs we finished above should equal 7 wins if we continue to improve. Last year it took 13 wins to get into the 8, so we'd need to find 6 more wins out of matches against GWS, North Melbourne, Collingwood (2), Richmond, Bulldogs, Port Adelaide (2), Hawthorn (2), Sydney, Adelaide, Fremantle, West Coast, Geelong. I've bolded the teams that we've beaten in the last two years (since Roos took over and we started improving). I know that we probably won't win all of the games against teams below us or against the teams that we've beaten recently, but if you account for a few surprise wins, a couple of wins against teams on the slide, and, say, 5 wins against teams we should beat, I don't think that it's too much of a stretch to say that we can make the finals.
  4. I feel the same way. I think the AFL needs to sort out a way to lock new draftees to clubs on longer initial contracts to prevent situations like Scully's or the "Go Home 5" from occurring. That's not on the players to have to worry about, as they're playing by the rules that have been put in place when requesting trades/ signing with new teams after two years. All they can do is handle it as gracefully as possible, something that T$ didn't do. If this can't be sorted out, it will become more and more difficult for lowly clubs to rise up the ladder. God knows that we've had a hard enough time, and we've only lost one of our draftees after his initial contract.
  5. Don't worry, it's still pre-Christmas. Word is that he's been on a limited scootering program and should be good to resume full intensity scootering in the new year. He should be back to his usual figure by round one.
  6. Exactly. It's easy for us to criticize players for their disloyalty, but it's important to remember that football is their job and this job very rarely lasts longer than 15 years. Most people have goals in their line of work, whether it be promotions, raises, finding new clients, etc, but they also have a much longer time to achieve these goals than footballers do to achieve theirs. It's common sense that every footballer has a goal of winning a premiership, and they need to put themselves in the best position to do this while also looking out for their financial interests. They need to make the best decisions for themselves and their futures. Football is a business. That being said, Tom Scully will always be a [censored] of the highest order.
  7. That's always a viable option. It's never failed me.
  8. Nope, not really into the soccer. Just reminiscing about Demonland's good old days
  9. Sounds like you need to go and join in on one of Saty and Salem's conversations. Post a gun pic while you're at it, please.
  10. I like what I'm hearing so far. There has long been talk of him one day coming to the Leafs, so hopefully it comes to fruition. It's been a while since we've had a real star player. Sundin was probably the last one. Word is that Bernier is going to get the start against Tampa, with Sparks to be backup. Looks like Sparks will be sent back to the AHL when Reimer returns. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reimer traded at the deadline.
  11. This is my biggest fear for next season. It is also why drafting Weideman and Hulett this year was so important in creating some depth at FF for the future.
  12. Just as long as there's no 4peat, I'm not too fussy who it is that beats the Hawks (aside from us, obviously).
  13. I reckon that having him around as a coach/trainer will result in him having a more profound impact than if he were on the rookie list playing predominantly at Casey. As great a servant as he was for us over the past couple of seasons, I think that we pulled the pin at the right time.
  14. Don't stress, Gorgoroth, mine hasn't arrive yet either. Though I am located internationally.
  15. He was supposed to be fit and firing by the beginning of June. Just another typical 4-6 week injury at the MFC
  16. I reckon that if Frost is good enough as a lockdown defender we should throw him to FB and Dunn to CHF/FF. We would then look something like this: Jetta-Frost-Garland Salem-Tmac-Melksham Vince-Viney-Stretch Kent-Hogan-Petracca Garlett-Dunn-Kennedy Gawn-Tyson-N.Jones Int: Brayshaw, Watts, vandenBerg, Neal-Bullen
  17. I think ANB is a player that will benefit from the removal of the sub rule and reduced interchange cap. Also keep in mind that he had surgery on his kneecap which greatly restricted his preseason last year. I like what I've seen so far. I don't think he'll be a star, but I think that he'll be a good, solid player for us.
  18. They're a bit less optimistic over at Champion Data than we are on here...
  19. It's nice to know that Roosy is thinking about finals as well, which hopefully means that we're not too delusional!
  20. I believe we only have to make 2 first round selections over a four year period.
  21. He played pretty well for having a serious neck injury. I think 2016 will be his best year yet.
  22. I think that would probably be what Jesse and his management would be pushing for, with Melbourne likely pushing for a contract that'll take him until near the end of his career. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
