AFLW: Rd 10 vs Sydney
Had a blast. I met Ghostie and got a hug. Loved the feel of the place, bit like suburban footy back in day but without the biffo. First group I saw as I was getting out of the car were a group of Muslim Demon supporters, the [censored] community were well represented, lots of young families and a couple of drag queens were wandering around. Come to think about it, given this very diverse group were all there to watch the elite comp of women's footy it really was nothing like watching suburban footy back in the day 🤣. As for the footy I thought the skills look better in ‘real life’ than they do on tele. They also hit bloody hard. The game has already been well commented on here but I thought Zanker, Hore, Eliza Mac, Hanks and Fitz were probably the difference. Paxy good too as was Shelley Heath. Agree that Rigoni had her most prominent game but she was playing on Zippy who was probably the Swans best. She is going to have to develop more of a tank next off season though as she ran out of petrol tickets in the last. Brisbane in Brisbane will be big next week eh.

AFLW: Rd 10 vs Sydney
I will definitely get there early although I think my face painting days are behind me 🤣. Put an extra sausage on the BBQ, I’ll be the slightly lost looking, old bloke. No excuses tomorrow, that’s a strong side we have named. Go Dees!

I am coming down to Melbourne and this will be my first ever AFLW game. Would love to meet up with any Demonlanders who will be at the match. Go Dees

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
Port and Collingwood have shown other sides how to beat us; bring intense pressure all match. Mick is going to have to work out a way for us to absorb pressure and get it cleanly to the outside. If we can’t work through this it will be a very short finals campaign for us

AFLW Injury List 2025
Poor Jacinta has been out of action for two seasons now. She came with big wraps. I assume she is seen as a L. Pearce replacement. Does anyone know of that the case of maybe another key position? Any info greatly appreciated

AFLW VOTES: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast Suns
Very happy for Fitzsimon’s for the five votes from each coach. Given she won the Demon spirit award last year I’m sure she will be well celebrated this week

You made me look it up. Good news, according to this both Maeve and Tahlia are signed to the end of 2027

AFLW VOTES: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast Suns
Hanks Chaplin Fitzsimmons Hore Wotherspoon McNamara We need to talk about Ryleigh Wotherspoon. 17 disposals, 7 tackles, 338 metres gained, 1 goal and that mark of the day in the last. A break out game. Her bio reads “She’s also represented Queensland and Australia in softball, cricket, and soccer”. I could be wrong but she probably has some talent and hand eye coordination 😳🤣. Will only get better.

AFLW Injury List 2025
Hopefully we will have a fit and firing Lampy back for the end of the year and finals. Her class and experience would complete the backs

2025 AFLW Fixture
Current ladder position: 2nd (5-1) Degree of difficulty R1-6: 13.3 (17th hardest) Degree of difficulty R7-12: 10 (equal 12th hardest) Upcoming games against current top eight: 3 The run home As opposed to past seasons, this year we have been kissed on the bot bot with our fixture. We have been given time to settle into the year with games against bottom clubs, then get the opportunity of a tune up against teams currently sitting 5th, 7th and 8th on the way home. The penultimate game against Brisbane in Brisbane should give us a pretty good indication as to how we are travelling If we can keep our list relatively healthy we really have no excuses not to finish the home and away in the top two.

AFLW: Rd 07 vs Gold Coast
Whilst it is still very early days, Lily’s departure to Gold Coast is probably a win/win for both clubs. Gold Coast get a heart and soul player with heaps of experience. She is one of only 3 current Suns players to have played more than 50 games and is 20 (2 seasons worth) ahead of the next most experienced. As a comparison we have 11 players with 50+. She is also having a consistent year averaging 15+ disposals. As for us we ended up with Molly O who could be a 15 year player with us. Already she has shown plenty of dash off half back with good foot skills. I assume she will ultimately end up being a tall (very tall) mid.

AFLW VOTES: Rd 06 vs West Coast
6 McNamara. She has to be happy with her 50th game. Was good all game 5 Zanker. 5 goals, bullied har opponents 4 Chaplin. Consistently 2nd cleanest with the ball after Hanks. Love the move of putting her in the middle. Need two of her so one can play down back as well. 2nd most metres gained today after 3 Harris. So much more versatile these days. Most metres gained, 2 goals, 4 marks and second most hit outs. Popped up all over the ground. Love it 2 Taylor (Saraid). I assume we all saw the break two tackles, handball, hand ball receive, kick to leading forward play. As BDA said she is our most improved player 1 Hanks. Because I’ll never not vote for her Apologies to Pearce, Hore, Fitzsimmons and Heath Congrats to Gillard and Goldie on their first game back. Both did better than I thought that would. Probably congrats to the rehab team there too. Best game from Pisano
