AFLW VOTES: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Hanks Hore Harris (no one attacks the footy like her) Zanker (didn’t miss a beat when put into the middle after Purcell went down) Paxy Saraid Taylor (kept Wardlaw super quiet and then beat whoever she was on when Wardlaw went back) Apologies to Purcell, L Pearce (she was so much better for the run wasn’t she), Chaplin and Molly O.

AFLW: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Was waiting for someone to start on of these. Hopefully it will be a cracking game with the wind (Cranbourne Doctor?) behaving itself. Not sure who we have to adequately cover Wardlaw Very much looking forward to this game.

AFLW SEASON OPENS THIS WEEK
I know Purcell got a lot of it and was very good. To me though she was still only the second best on ground. We should be used to it but how clean is Tyla Hanks! Also for one of the shortest players on the ground she is stupidly good getting the ball out to a player running past when being tackled. But easily the play of the day for me was with a couple of minutes to go in the 4th there is a ball up at CHF. A WB player has a hold on Hanks and the ball goes to ground. Tyla takes off, gathers the ball clean as and sprints away from the pack. She has a look around and decides she is on the best position and, oh so casually, puts it over the goal umpires head. I don’t like comparing with the men’s game but you won’t see anything more pure than that over there either.

AFLW SEASON OPENS THIS WEEK
So good! The Todd Patterson call about Molly being a magic person is an interesting observation. It will be interesting to see how she goes not only on Saturday but the next few years

10th season of the AFLW
Thanks DIO, that is quite a list. Shades of last year unfortunately. Hopefully we can jag a couple of early season wins and get some troops back along the way. I am really looking forward to Saturday

CASEY: Rd 20 vs Brisbane Lions
Does anyone know if there is a replay of the game anywhere??

PRESEASON AFLW TRAINING: Wednesday 30th July 2025
The injury list is unideal isn’t it, particularly Gillard. I am still pretty bullish though. McNamara seems to have gone to another level.

Sorry but this is nonsense Scott Selwood is Collingwood’s forward coach and he was a tagger. James Rahilly is the Cat’s forward coach and he could be best described as a journeyman defender. Both those clubs seem to be kicking a few. You don’t need to have been a forward to coach a forward group. I would say brilliant communication skills, a deep understanding of the game and a synergy between all the coaching staff is far more important particularly in the modern game Famously Chris Fagan has never played the game at the highest level so you’d never want him as a coach.- NON-MFC: Round 12
I hate to admit it but the Pies are a cut above. It’s going to be very, very difficult to beat them next week.- Welcome to Demonland Laela Ebert
Blumin hell. You have to feel for Jacinta Hose. This new injury can’t be easy to deal with physically or mentally. Hope she fully recovers and makes it back next year- 2025 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
The wonderful little cherry on top of our rise up the ladder over the past few weeks, has been Essendon’s corresponding drop down the draft order. Bombers supporters have been death riding the poo out of us but, as it stands now, they have pick 9 at the end of the year, in a lower quality and highly compromised draft What we have is a future 200 gamer and All-Australian in Xavier Lindsay already playing for us now. I feel good about this.- The Steven May appreciation thread
I actually thought May was pretty good on the weekend. We would be a worse side without him in it.- PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
I watched the Hawks V Tigers game. The Hawks were allowed to come through the centre meaning easy and deep entries into their fwd line. We have to slow them down and clog up the corridor. Someone else mentioned playing Melksham and Sicily. I loved Melksham’s game on McGovern. Sicily would be a good match for him. If Jake could limit his effectiveness it could go a long way towards winning this game.- Round 8 Coaches Votes
We need at least a couple of players at AA level to make finals- Tom McDonald re-signs for 2025
Blumin hell, that’s a handy debut game. Forgot that he wore 43 too. 14 years on he is closing in on 250 games and has a flag. Too good!- Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
He is a bit quicker than I thought too- 2025 MFC Injury List
While there is ‘only’ 3 players on the list who would be considered top 23 players - Pickett, McVee and Tholstrup - we have roughly a quarter of our list (10) who are unavailable for Rnd 1. That’s not ideal.- AFLW: Rd 02 vs Brisbane
Ruck goes out injured, in comes zippy small forward. Interesting selection - JvR Re-Signs until 2029
