AFLW Fixture 2023
So if we beat the Lions tomorrow we would play the Suns at Princes Park in the Qualifying Final. Without counting unhatched chickens, the winner of that game goes straight through to the Prelim with a weeks rest. Could be good if we win tomorrow 🙂

AFLW Fixture 2023
So if we beat the Lions next week they’ll end up 5th. We then would play either Essendon or Gold Coast at Ikon first week of finals. Is that right?

Membership Tally 2023
Just rang the Club to see why I had been charged $289 for my Interstate membership (supposed to be $165). Found out the $289 includes my 2024 interstate membership, 2024 AFLW membership AND Kayo for next year as well. Basically it’s a bargain.

AFLW Fixture 2023
I was thinking the same thing about Blackburn. She deserves some success although I think she is also the type who would stay true. You’d think she has been made offers before

Comparing Tyla Hanks to Paul Callery? Love it! Only on Demonland.

AFLW: Rd 08 vs North Melbourne
Random thoughts Campbell is a natural tap ruck. She is really good at putting the ball to the advantage of the mids. Only got 44% of game time. Perfect development for a young ruck behind Pearce and with Watt as a mentor. Birch still worries me when the pressure is on but thought she was good tonight. She seems to have seasons where she is really good but also seasons where it’s more of your heart in your mouth stuff. The ball doesn’t really get down there enough to know which season she is having this year. Shelley Heath is the ultimate competitor. Love her. After all her perfect 10 coaches votes Jas Garner would be lucky to get any tonight. We knew this before, but for her size Kate Hore is a great mark. We got Purcell from the Cats for Chantel Emonson and picks 15 and 47. Enough said, she is a gun Tyler Hanks is just the best to watch. She does the time slows down thing, glides around a bit and then pinpoints a teammate in a better position. She is also going to go through her footy career criminally underrated by the outside world. No doubt a lot will hinge on the last round V Brisbane, but like pretty much every one where I have enormous confidence in this team

The culture that our women’s team have going is made up of many components. One part of that is the passion the Demon Army have for this team. If your team has a banner and the other doesn’t, you are already ahead of the opposition before the game even starts. Good on you WCW and your Demon Army companions

My first ever AFLW match that I’ll see in person will be the Rnd 10 Brisbane game. Two questions Does anyone know when they will announce the actual date it will be played? Is anyone else going? I would love to meet up with any other Demonlanders before, during or after the game.

AFLW: Rd 04 vs Hawthorn
So would I. Her ability to step out of traffic and find a target is pretty much unparalleled in the women’s game. In the future I wonder if we could ever see a male draftee profiled like this? Name: Joe Bloggs, 18 Position: Midfielder, Sandringham Dragons Strengths: Clean hands, elite kick, very high footy IQ, possible future AFL captain Plays like: Tyler Hanks

AFLW VOTES: Rd 04 vs Hawthorn
6. Hanks. Sublime: tending to inspire awe usually because of elevated quality or transcendent excellence. 5. Purcell. Another understated 29 possession, 5 tackle game 4. Zanker. On fire. A couple of great marks. As the commentator said her facial expression tells you exactly what she’s thinking. Probably shouldn’t play poker 3. Hore. I reckon the only reason she doesn’t appear in more people’s votes here is you’ve all just got used to her being excellent. 17 touches, 7 marks, 2 goals and 9 score assists. 2. West. Just a smart player whose kicking is a million times better than when she started. 1. Pearce. Career best season so far? She seems to have learnt some new tricks. Mentor role for Campbell too. Rarely beaten in any contest.

AFLW: Rd 04 vs Hawthorn
Obviously I do not know Tayla Harris at all, but you get the feeling that she loves just being a part of the forward line rather than having to carry the whole thing. When she was at Carlton there was so much focus on her and if she didn’t play well they were no chance to win. To a certain extent she was the face of that club that then became toxic. It says so much of their culture that so many good players have left the Carlton AFLW side while NONE have left ours. Coming to us and being mentored by Daisy has worked out so well for both her and this team. She is only 26 and could easily play well into her 30’s. She has found her home

Given how much fun it is to watch this current Melbourne side play - the chains of handballs out of the backline, through the corridor and then a pass to a leading forward. Women’s footy has come such a long way in such a short time. I wonder what the score would be if this Melbourne side could play the original one?
