Bloody hell. I’ll take that result this evening thanks very much -
AFL Braces for Nightmare 2021 Scenario
FarNorthernD replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well you can imagine my disappointment. I figured the AFL’s 2021 nightmare scenario was Melbourne going back to back. -
As supporters of this Club we haven’t had much to applaud over the past 50 years. Personally I’ll devour any feel good stuff they care to throw at me.
-
I know Hannan will probably always be in the bottom half dozen players in the side but, for his size, Mitch must have close to the best hands in the comp.

I’m a big Luke Jackson fan

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs North Melbourne
FarNorthernD replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
That 1/18 win/loss stat against, what has been, a mid table team for most of that time has been stuffing with my mind. At least if we move to 1/19 today I can join the ‘this year doesn’t count’ crowd. I’ll then spend the next 8 months trying to work out if there is any chance I could still be alive before we could hope to even the ledger. PS. Cunnington normally bullies us and then shows us how to play football. He is a huge out -
I don’t watch non MFC matches these days aside from the occasional Essendon match when they are a chance to lose. I stopped last night half through the 3rd when they were well up. Best start to the day to wake up this morning and find they got rolled. (My other guilty pleasure is Scully leaving Melbourne when we were [censored], going to a [censored] GWS and finally settling on a [censored] Hawthorn. Yes I know he is filthy rich)
-
Haha Taylor Walker had a net contribution of negative 1.
-
Bulldogs will come off a six day break V our seven so a slight advantage to us.
-
Lockhart doing ok
-
Really we have only beaten them once in the past 20 outings? Wow that is a sad stat, even for us. Hopefully it means we are due for a few wins on the trot.

Scratch Match: Carlton vs Melbourne, Richmond & Essendon
FarNorthernD replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That sounds fantastically strange. Were the Demonic Bombing Tigers coached by a woman with the initials JK? -
I hope it is us. Weather is sensational in Cairns at the moment (day 27°, nights 17°). Cazaly Stadium roughly the same dimensions as Giants Stadium that we seem to love playing on. Plenty of great Accom and lots of things for the players to do on off days. Very Covid free too. And the fact that I live in the area has nothing to do with me wanting them to play here
-
I wonder how that will affect Brown’s performance? Whilst I’m sure North will deny it, you’d think he will be sad/gutted/annoyed that he is potentially being shopped around

What happens to the draft in 2020
FarNorthernD replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
Between it being a highly compromised draft and no junior football this year, picking kids with AFL futures will be doubly difficult. About the only definite is talented players will fall to lower rounds than what they would have given an uninterrupted year. If ever there was a year to find yourself out of the first round, this is it. Who knows, may end up with a bargain -
What they're saying down at Glenferrie Road

I would have almost stopped celebrating -
Out of many highlights this was a favourite FullSizeRender.mov

What they're saying down at Glenferrie Road
FarNorthernD replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought Josh Kelly was going to be the best player in the competition. I’m not sure what has happened to him but he has gone backwards big time. -
I’m feeling cautiously optimistic. Could end badly but so far, so good.
-
I love Jones for what he has given over the past decade, but if he isn’t centre square material any more where does he play? He struggles to nail down another spot.
-
If it was the 2018 TMc out then that would be a monster loss. Even though he was starting to show something last week he shouldn’t be too difficult to replace
-
Lots of ball, so little system
-
I’m going with the saying “Things are never as bad as they seem.” Think (hope) we may actually turn it on for a couple of quarters and roll the Tigers. TMc to find form and clunk a few. May and Lever to find their vibe. Oliver to play his best game for the year. We have some serious talent, just need for them to play near their best.
-
Complete overrreaction. They obviously haven’t watched a Melbourne games over the past 40 years.

So much talent in our team but so little system. Doubts as to if Goodwin can coach must be growing. There is hardly a player in this side that is playing his best football. That’s the coaches job and it’s not happening.
