It is discerning that he is a "full free agent" Roo is correct in what the Russian will be capable of asking for come the end of the year and that is pretty much 700K minimum.... and Port could offer alot more (who knows where there salary cap goes??? seriously who would fill it??? Is it right that with the full free agency we dont trade for him?? the afl gives us a compensation type pick? I would guess that it may be a mid first rounder type...ie. WE LOSE

A few comments made by Gary tonight on footy classified, when asked about his decision not to appoint Hardwick over Bailey: He commented that from Hardwicks presentation it was obvious that he needed another year before he was "ready to be a senior coach", and that Hardwick would admit that Also said that he would never be involved with any future decision making processes for the next Melbourne coach(if and when we need one) when asked, he said that he had had his time etc, and that it was to draining considering you make such an important decision over a short period of time Does it sound like he thinks he made a bad call over Bailey? and that he doesnt want to be responsible for another similar decision again? If we do need to assign another coach at years end it would be the most important coaching appointment in our clubs history, considering where we have been for so long and the list which has been developed thus far... Sounds more and more like it will be the case at years end, in saying that i think Bailey can still hold on if he gets a few wins and the players show some passion and drive A few wins being 9-10 or more

I think the whole reaction to Jurrah is a bit over the top, yeah he isnt very physical but i dont expect it of him... he adds what he adds and that is that oppositions fear him and that the only thing that stops him scoring goals is a bad day not any defender Yes i want every other player to be physical but its not in Jurrahs build and i think he plays a different game which adds what it adds, and we all know how good it is in general

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Jordie_tackles replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
From the bigfooty boards discussing the under 18 champs trials, these guys generally know some good stuff about the juniors so heres the small part on viney: "Viney worth a mention too, for the dees supporters. Good little hard nut, nice skills by foot when he gets outside. Slightly outmuscled a time or two, to be expected considering he's playing against bigger and older blokes, but tracking really well for an underager." reply: "Outmuscled? I believe he nearly killed a kid with one of the best blocks I have ever seen at a level under the elite.." full thread: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=785253&page=19 -
I will give them a go, yeah they are kinda tacky but would really like to see the G lit up and if i dont do it i guess i cant count on others to provide the impression Really think it could be good with heaps of lights flashing in the dark surrounds

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/114555/default.aspx "PRESIDENT Jim Stynes is calling on the red and blue army to come out in force - and wear their flashing Demon horns - for this Friday night’s clash with Carlton." As the article says this is MFC only home Friday night game for the year, and we are encouraged to wear our demon horns I think that i will wear them, yeah they are kinda tacky, and my Carlton mates who i am going with will have a good laugh... but who knows 35 thousand pairs of these might actually look good, and let the boys know that they have alot of support at the game What is everyone elses opinions on this, will you bring them? And what type crowd can we get to this game? I reckon 50K+ hopefully pushing 55-60 (this is optimistic i know)

In what way, it assess the difficulty of the their kicks and how often they should complete it successfully, then gives them a mark for how often they do it more than expected? It is the latest efficiency assessment by Champion data
-
Apparently he is the 37th best kick in the AFL this year.....better than Gibbs, Tapscott, Cotchin and Judd to name a few http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/liam-jurrah-leads-top-100-kick-list/story-e6frf9jf-1226060435985

I would drop davey, maybe netwon or bate with tapscott suspended So maybe 2-3 ins Wouldnt bring Bennell or Morton back, Morton needs to work hard in the reserves for atlest 2 games although 3 weeks.. i want more than one good performance from these guys. Ins is harder, maybe a Strauss (is he fit? has he played a game after being out?), Nicholson, we saw Evans do it so why not our next best Midfield option?? Dont think Blease has done enough yet, plays one way from what i have heard and seen, although his last couple of weeks are reportedly better Gawn is the other interesting one, if Newton is dropped we need a real ruck option/backup to martin, although i think he is still to early for him Howe maybe, do want a bit more but is he worse than Newton,Bate, or Petterd atm?

Can you tell me Bartrams efficiency? i can tell you the past three years 70,73,69%, Davey's is 70,72,66 all by foot, stats from the afl Prospectus by champion data He is by far not the worst on the team, and will be in the team for a long time so get used it it everyone
-
I agree that Tapscott would really stretch to go top 10 but if the draft was done again we wouldnt get him at 18 thats for sure he might go 13 after Kane Lucas if not 12 before him
-
He is gonna be super, and might end up top 10 from the draft but : Rohan (6),Butcher(8), Moore (9), Melksham (10) are the reasons why, all very nice especially melksham in my opinion Rohan is quite nice havnt seen alot of Moore but is still justified and Butcher is one who will require time. Your point taken Gysberts could end up the best mid out of these guys
-
It is a combination of established senior players, who are good, plus drafting, plus the Judd deal (kennedy and Masten)... and yes they would still love to have judd, but it might have given them a better shot with a ok mid and maybe the next big KPF during their next window Also winning games in Perth helps might check out if they have won away this year?

Jordie_tackles replied to True Believer's topic in Melbourne Demons
What does it say? i dont think Jim is going to portray his feelings especially as you are suggesting so openly with camera's photographers around.... -
I thought the majority today tried pretty hard, if you get our worst 5 players and replace them with some of our injured ones with the effort today we would win more than we would lose. This is evident in us winning more hard balls and tackles, kicking more than we handball and they did etc One comment being on the commentary, "St Kilda are more polished" As you say Richmond are doing this, with more healthy players than us The intensity that Richmond play with is trademark of Hardwick, we need to do it every week
-
Honestly Jurrah doesnt do a heap of chasing and things like that, tackles when he is near the ball, but he isnt the player who will run a million Km's per game to get a touch etc People calling for his head, he deserves to be dropped, he kicked 3 goals on a bad day.... as we so often say, i wont be dropping anyone who does this and averages this over their career... One thing he does bring is that Defenders [censored] their pants when he has the ball, the ball is kicked to him or "C" he is doing these things within the 50M arc With him doing the team things, i think he could work harder but he does put pressure on players.... was in defence today etc to get a touch
-
6 - Moloney- tried to drag the team across the line today 5 - Watts 4 - Jones 3 - Sylvia 2 - Jetta 1 - Evans
-
5 first team players missing today, plus the Tapscott injury Yeah St Kilda are terrible havnt played in the Last 2 grand finals have they We were strong in contested possession and tackles today I am sick of the doom sayers we are still 9th with over half the Season left Worse than when Bailey took over? you must have a terribly short memory...imagine paying at that time missing a qaurter of our starting 22
-
Who would you hand the captaincy to?
Jordie_tackles replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
Moloney gave Jordie Mckenzie a dont argue in the 4th quarter, to get the clearance, thats how much he wanted to win today Unlike our other Vice Captain who droppped his head, complained about a niggle etc -
YES what did he do wrong today??? We had Passengers.....da da da Davey
-
Bartram is and will continue to be ONE OF THE FIRST PICKED EVERY WEEK.... you must have no idea Season over???, we lost with a heap of injuries to a team that lost by a kick to Carlton 2 weeks ago We won alot of KPI's contested possession and tackling a believe at least until 3QT Today had a heap of good signs
-
Moloney wanting to win so bad he gave Jordie Mckenzie a dont argue to get a clearance, in the 4th
-
This ^^^^^^ he has had one good game, nothing amazing though, If there has even been a dropped man walking it should be Davey such a weak effort, He is our Vice Captain...
-
Unsettled, maybe doesnt see his spot in the starting line up, doesnt want to be the whipping boy, take an easier offer form a club making promises we wont, money Scully will get what he wants essentially at any club he goes to, money, starting 23, leader
