Not going to hard but i differ in opinion on a couple of players Mainly thinking that Hartlett is the goods davis is injured at the moment but is going to be a ten year back for the crows, was huge late last year Yarren is all hype if you ask me, can play but isnt incredible imo, feel free to differ Shoenmakers, should be pretty good but i think he hasnt developed a whole lot atm Also Brown from Geelong is killing the VFL i believe a few big bags But really great write ups striker in general and i agree the 2009 draft will be huge.... 08 wont be bad though alot of talent in both
-
You cant knock his second half of last year mate, 16 goals in 6 games or something... i hardly call that wasted He hasnt kicked on this year though... showed signs today, kicked what 4 and dished off a few too (maric in the last)
-
Some of there 17yo selections will be in there second or third year of a contract?, rookies Nat Ablett etc
-
ABC commentators absolutely creaming over Cook... one seems to have ties with him, and mention that "Cooks manager is very excited by his prospect" anyone hear this comment?? Fev has also been good, playing a great team game Commentators also saying how good Warnock is and that ALOT of AFL clubs would kill to have him play FB, he is good but i find he struggles at AFL (a little), dominates VFL tho Sam Blease is a jet plane ... how was his run from HB to HF.... slaughtered the kick on the end however
-
And Cook slots 2 more goals, I love the look of this kid
-
I have heard he isnt a talent as such....doesnt listen to Gary's advice he might be able to play... watched the show but not the last 20 mins? What was the kid doing

I think that he is saying that GWS "may" be inclined to trade the 17yo picks with MFC because: -They cannot get Jack Viney under any circumstances -And this means that the 2012 draft where they will most likely have the first or second pick will be stronger -Keeping an extra 17yo in that draft while still receiving compensation from MFC If they trade other wise it draws 17yo talent out of the next draft where they will have 1 high pick, could O'Meara be that pick will the extra player picked be that pick? They would effectively trade one less 17yo if the trade Viney to MFC is this the point? -

This is a point but an 18yo could just as easily be the best kid, in 2012 i believe they only receive 1 pick, and will as such not miss out on any of the 17yo if an 18yo is the best kid I am still a little confused weather they trade players or a pick in a draft for these players... im pretty sure its a pick in a mini draft I would assume all 17yo will not have an option but to accept the offer when it comes -

Simply GWS HAS their 17yo's already (from the 2011 draft), they cant get anymore They can trade 4 picks to clubs for other 17yo's from the (2012 draft) They get ZERO benefit unless they trade these picks for something of value -
Geelong? Anyway i think the crowd size growing has alot to do with the filths membership also sky rocketing.... if we can get 55 to carlton and essendon i would hope 70K minimum versus Collingwood

Exactly, these kids will normally be in the 2012 draft so GWS will only get one of them if they finish low enough in the inaugural season, so they wont weaken their selection by much at all while gaining alot. The point im making is that we can get Viney next year, we wont be able to get the same quality kid next year as we can with the compensation picks thats where i see the advantage being at. -
Is fantastic, being younger i have only really realised how great he was for our club recently, this man really was one of the best people to ever be involved with football, if not the best

In regards to WARD, off topic but feel sad for him with his manager coming out and stating the facts, ie 400k extra etc with half a season to go..... At least the Scully talk is "rumour" his mates now know he may walk out etc
-
Or Player wont know what salary they may receive in future?? what the % mark up may end up at??? i doubt it will take that long imagine a walk out prior to finals...lol AFL would bend over backwards
-
If the player hasnt ended his first contract after being taken at that pick, simple
-
Also, finally an article not linking Scully to GWS, mainly because Scully isnt Connors client, but... he was happy to mention Taylor Walker and Palmer as being seemingly gone, Is the rumour getting old? the names arnt as good at this stage as Goldcoast imo

Voldermort yeah?

This is it, one O'Meara is rumoured to want to stay in WA, BF posters also said Matera who went as a 17yo wanted to stay in WA etc.... i assume this is where you know O'Meara from Artie? Also a Dunn or Bate may help GWS alot, Forwards taking time to develop and GC having a lacking in this department imo, strong defence and midfield in comparison Strong bodies being the Key for them early, and both players fitting the age bracket, the first rounder being the sweetener in a way...i doubt they would bite maybe though Cant wait to see what is offered -

NO, quite the opposite, there are 4 picks in the underage draft, not 17, so there will be 17 clubs offering i would imagine a first rounder and some for a shot at these kids, They are considered to be top tens, like Watts when he was draft number 1 as a 17yo thats the talent some of these kids have, i would assume its first rounder which this year is likely to be 15+ for most clubs and a good fringe player/best 22 player such as a Blease, Strauss or good 23-26yo player (maybe more likely). The rules arent design for the current clubs to have power like the rest of the rules they are design for GWS to win the transaction/do extremely well I am a fan of trading for the kids not Viney who we will steal anyway for what ever pick 10+ for instance O'Meara from WA is considered in the same class as Swallow last year One thing im unsure of is if the 17yo need s to want to be traded -
All points are valid, strauss had some bad kicks, not all at ideal times (they never are), he is apparently an elite kick.... Frawley is apparently an AA back hasnt shown much of it this year, but he is coming back from injury.... Strauss is playing his 3rd game who do we expect more of? my point also relates to Frawley continuously running into trouble then feeding a suicide handball, has the press hurt his run? Question?

Darcy's comments of Davey were that he was being soft which he was, when did he get the knee injury, he had played this way for many weeks not just one game, he deserves his criticism imo
