  1. Yeah a really good article, bit of an insight onto bailey and his thoughts, plus alot of people wanted him to have Mathews as a mentor type great
  2. This is the type of thing i would be very interested in, although i am not an AFL member, im a MFC member Do occasionally have work commitments, have been to 5 games this year, one nab And like wearing a guernsey to games as was said
  3. There was a word in another BF thread suggesting that Geelong was offering something in the value of their first rounder from the Ablett deal, so i think Sylvia is a bit more value than that, but yes i think he is close to what it would take, in a Valued player or first round pick I cant pin point the thread....somewhere hear maybe, is still related to the topic: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=818361 The only issue i would imagine with trading them a player like that is, they can sign players without us offering them, so why would they trade with us for such a player???
  4. I think it is a very smart ploy from the kid to get more game time haha, has a brain
  5. I think it should be good even to see if it has an affect, anyone who is saying it probably wont have great affect (and no one has been overly critical) it will only be so because not everyone has gotten on board, if it works it could be awesome really And at the moment the poll is really close, closer than i expected so if you bring them along it seems close to 50% of us will be wearing them I also think they will dim the lights at some stage (most obviously), most likely towards the end of Newton John and Stynes
  6. our hand was forced a bit, i would have liked to have seen Morton and Bennell in the VFL for more than 1 game
  7. i believe there is minimum required involvement in the National Draft, where clubs are required to take a minimum of 4 players, so we need to lose four players from the senior list, excluding rookies, this may also mean that it is difficult to upgrade rookies onto the senior list as it would require more spots?
  8. Yeah this fixture offers real value to members and supporters, -Big friday night fixture against a traditional rival -Big crowd, should be close to 60K plus which we dont see often -Jimmy and Newton John singing, should be good -A debutant and second gamer who are both pinned as exciting players I cannot wait, hope we go well sitting with about 6 Carlton supporting mates...
  9. I cant believe some of the stuff that is allowed to be published..... i would have thought Jon Ralph would know something about what he is writing, as said, draft position, future potential, AND HIS OFFERED SALARY, will dictate his value... i dont see how we can get anything less than a top 10, top 5 pick for a number one drafted player who is sought after, being offered huge money etc
  10. a good quote form Bailey : "That’s a good start. He deserves his chance. One thing I’ll get from 'Nico' is 100 per cent effort." maybe a bit of a dig, but doubt it
  11. Yes agree with alot of these points, what about a pick and a dunn, bate type even strauss or blease? i am talking our first pick Jones is a hard one.... i think the type of player we could get would be amazing, better than jones, but what does our midfield lose in the short term? with only Moloney,Sylvia... then 20-21yo's thats the trouble these kids and its a stretch because i dont know a whole lot, but we could be talking about trading for scully, trengove, martin types
  12. The question is whether or not we can get a top 5 player from next years draft, (speculatively so) for a player or pick of slightly less value? some of the kids mentioned are rated extremely highly, especially O'Meara and Stringer i believe it also seems that GWS may want qaulity established players for these picks
  13. Already a thread dedicated to that article
  14. Melbourne not listed as one of the clubs interested in the GWS 17 year old trade picks.... i know this doesnt mean we wont try or havnt but would have thought it was worth going hard at http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/tomorrows-stars-in-giants-sights-20110524-1f2ij.html#ixzz1NHcv0cIY
  15. Aaron will learn that if you serve up ship on a plate then you dont get a game for the MFC..... He will learn that if he doesnt play well, or with an sort of intent or desire, he still wont get a game for MFC He will learn that if he doesnt put the team first and do what is best for them, and try and lead (as a VC should), THEN HE WONT GET A GAME FOR MFC He may also learn that there could be a dozen guys playing at Casey who are putting in alot more than he is, and are possibly playing better also Thats my thought
  16. Lets be honest these guys would love it: http://lovebiandesigns.blogspot.com/2011/02/congratulations-cheese-heads.html http://winterpatriot.blogspot.com/2005/03/capture-that-wasnt.html CHEESE HEADS
  17. Thats it, he are getting what we want from him atm, let him sweat on it for more than a month or so.... maybe mid-year maybe later Really its just a title for Moloney nothing else, dont see what the rush is for him to be given it back
  18. Plus an article i found: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/114716/default.aspx
  19. Heard him on the SEN news, bit of a snippet Saying that he wants the vice captaincy back, that him not being in the leadership group hadnt changed his role as a leader, and that his aim since the incident has been to lead the young kids in our team even more. Great to hear that the guy is driven to get it back, not being vice captaincy has obviously had an affect on him, positively and if anything he is giving even more at the moment because he wants to be the leader of this group This guy really wants the VC back but i think it is also obvious that he would love to lead the club (as Captain) also great stuff
  20. Has never played for Casey... and if he is to play would have loved the club to name him at the last minute, just for the whole Scully factor, Carlton wouldnt be prepared for it etc, create some buzz To a lesser degree would maybe help us hit a high 55-60K+ at the G this friday, not that this is a reason for playing him
  21. More so because as said he pushes himself, and the problem is with him pushing himself to hard, but yes a nice dig at the club
  22. This is the best news in ages, maybe give him a game in the VFL, couldnt stand him being pushed to hard, in saying this 9 weeks is a decent rest
  23. I think thats "limited free agents" of 7 years, Jamar is coming on what 9-10 years yeah? so that makes him a "full free agent" I believe we can only match offers on limited free agents, thats my querry
  24. He will be a free agent so can just pack his bags a believe, not 100% though If im right there is no trading involved, maybe compensation
  25. I actually think that Jurrah's pressure isnt that lacking....dont talk this you dont understand bulls..t like your opinion rules, all i said is that i think Jurrah plays a different role, not that he doesnt apply any pressure etc, but he adds something else, everyone on the team needs to tackle, chase and pressure
