As i said i think its a free agency thing, but clubs can match the wages offered to some players, maybe the top 25% on their list, if they dont match the wages the player can leave. This may only be for restricted free agents or i am confused?
-
Will be hard, players can leave if they are not in the clubs top 25% of paid players......would think we could match any bids that come our way if we are super keen to keep him, which we will be. Not 100% how all that side of free agency works.
-
I believe a number of clubs would line up for Sylvia with their first round pick, non of them top 10 but top 8 teams could get alot out of him with an established midfield around him
-
My name sack? id say he has a bit of it
-
Ironically it is the current attitude being directed at Cook that Spencer copped for his entire career up until this point in time. It has only taken him until he is close to 24 to get the chance again and take it, funny what happens when you give young KPP time. Watts is another example, even Frawley of players who turned it around after 2-3 season.

Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?

his dad or is he your dad or what? edit that whole post confused me a bit tbh -
That is a fair call and good thinking, would be a shame to lose out on a Roughead/Franklin combo but then again could be genius
-
It is a hard call, pick 4 could be Morton or Pendelbury or Judd ect Do you take Boak who i think is no better than Jones or do you take ths risk for a chance at a superstar
-
I have been thinking 4 and 13 for Boak and 7 was fair but this draft has some nice prospects in that top4-5 range that just wont be there at pick 7 Grundy, Toumpas seem huge talents who we will have access to at pick 3/4
-
Fair enough but i still think you were selling him short saying he lacked commitment to the contest, i still have faith in his ability but that isnt always enough within itself with players who get injured and cannot put on the weight ect required.
-
Grundy looks like a Gem, unreal for a ruckman imo, has a huge athletic leap and is not scared of tackling when his time comes. Could be a huge talent.
-
Say he doesnt show commitment to the contest is absolute Bulldust mate, and saying he struggles at VFL level your so full of it, he has been injured, trying get back into it, when he plays a full preseason and season he might build some momentum and thats what i expect. Unless you have watched him closely as i have tried to with him being a Ballarat boy then dont make sweeping comments that are way off the mark because they suit your he is young and skinny argument, its pointless.

Brad Green's Retirement - It's Official
Jordie_tackles replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Isnt there not a "list" anymore? just that each player over 30 can take 100K off the cap? and you can have as many veterans as you wish? -
It is by no means a definition of a player, but if you follow the link to post 23 (the video) he can definitely take a contested mark RF, this is only an example but i dont think he is going to be a Cloke type but can from what i have seen and heard take a contested grab quite easily. wont be that Physically imposing player imo, i think Clark does alot of this, and that Cook can be a smart CHF. edit - http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/cook-and-fitzpatrick-educate-me.964352/

Terry Wallace on our trading/drafting
Jordie_tackles replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah my point is more that from the limited footage i have seen of Caddy i am not sure i am convinced he will be a better option than the players who will most likely be available at pick 13 -

I dont honestly i was trying to make the point that 13 AND a Moloney is way overs, i know he was rated very highly as a junior and is unhappy where he is seemingly, but Morton was highly rated too and isnt worth pick 13 atm so i am more with you Oldee. the question is will he be better just by being in VIC for the change or not? people seem to think so, Emme Qauyle ect rate him so... Pick 13 will likely be a player like Wines, O'rourke, Garlett or Kennedy or Menzel who are all playing great U18's, Caddy is very much hype -

I would say pick 13 and a Bennel or Petterd or BOTH type of deal. I wouldnt bet money that Caddy will be a better player than Sylvia tbh without and picks involved. -
Glad that jakey has got a win under his belt. I have watched him at VFL a few times and he is too good at that level, just to big a kid tbh, and i am glad that a few people are recognising that he has been developing his game, no way is he a world better or anything but geez he puts in effort around the ground and tries hard for a big guy, he has learned to use his body too by the soudns of it, i am about to watch the game now but i am not surprised his game is coming together

would solve alot of headaches and reduce the post rate on DL by 50%
-
In the end that isnt THE worst scenario, i like the midfielder Couch a bit, although people think Hogan will go pick 2, it is overs for Couch with a pick 4 which i think it would have to be as we cannot give away pick 3 prior to F/S bidding but it will be like getting Viney and Couch for picks 4 and 25 instead of really Viney and pick 25, the value is getting a top 10 prospect type for pick 25 essentially. The best scenario is still getting Viney at 25 and having free reign at pick s3-4 obviously
-
And that we want him to also, although i guess that we owe all players a duty of care as this will affect his life after football also, not just ones in our future plans
-
yep i personally love clint, cannot question his commitment, and his disposal issues are overstated
