  1. Hopefully there arent too many unsold seats in our allocated area - last year i had these two roudy eagles fellas sitting next to me. They were full of [censored] and were practically yelling in my face every time they kicked a goal. Worst game ive ever been to
  2. Jurrah is a huge loss . He kicks goals. We need to kick goals for our front running side to get motivated to do the team things. Pettard is another with a happy knack for kicking goals - if he is fit get him in.
  3. got a laugh out of this post
  4. Great Post. They are again getting the best out of Average players - Scott Selwood, Masten, McKenzie, Schofield etc
  5. Seeing the next few months unfold will be very interesting. The club has gone through a drastic off field rebuild, Jurrah being arrested & charged, Jimmys passing and now intense media scrutiny after 1 AFL game. Mark Neeld is undergoing a baptism of fire. Keep your heads up Dees
  6. My lasting memories of last year’s annihilation at Subi was Grimes, Garland and Frawley getting allot of the ball under pressure and turning it over to the eagles press. I think we’re in for more of the same. Priddis also destroyed us. Neeld has been very confident and self assured since he got the gig. The next month or so will test him. I hope he sticks to his guns, but at the same time he should be prepared to tinker with the way he ultimately wants the guys to play for some short term respite. No point letting the boys be thrashed week in week out because he’s too proud, or dead against playing a tagger. In terms of changing things up lets get Bennell and maybe even Davey through the half back flanks and try to occasionally run the ball out through their press? Also lets try Grimes on the ball, where his lack of match practice and suspect disposal under pressure wont hurt us on the score board I expect wholesale changes, yes maybe even this drastic; INS: Bennell, Couch, Gysberts, Dunn, McDonald OUT: MacDonald, Green, Rivers, McKenzie, Bartram I'll be sitting in the stands at Subi this week, hoping to see an improved effort.
  7. WJ we lost to the Lions, they lost to the Eagles. Lets see how the boys go next week
  8. Its crazy how quick people are calling for Beamers head!
  9. Tried to stay away from here for a long as i could - knew demonland would be on suicide watch! The loss last year at Subiaco was as bad as i have seen. Hoping for a bit of fight next week
  10. where's the "dislike" button?!
  11. Jeff White took some good hangers for a big bloke too
  12. The big difference in my eyes is the fact that alcohol is legal and many of the drugs are illigal. Whilst i agree they both have similar risks in terms of addiction i think the fact that drugs are against the law means it society should make more of a deal about people using them. Social drug use is a crime, and those who take drugs socially are criminals in the eyes of the law. Yes, its a faily minor crime in the scheme of things, but if society made more of a deal about it and the punishments for possesion were harder we would have less crime, less broken homes etc etc. Thats another reason why i find it so hard to feel for drug adicts. They have knowingly broken the law.
  13. Dont think i've seen Byron Picket mentioned yet! He was exiting at times
  14. Agreed Old dee. The choice to dabble in hard drugs is one made by the individual. Its well documented that these substances have seriosus side effects. If the persons initial decision to try drugs ends up ruining their life, then they only have them selves to blame. People get all sympathetic with cousins' situation because he's a high profile sportsman. I dont see the same amount fo compasssion offered to the drug addicts that cant afford to pay for their habbits, who cause a great deal of crime in society. Even still, out of all of the groups in our society that deserve our support, time and effort, i think Drug Addicts get a better run than they deserve. Yes we should help them, but its not wrong to call them dumb for the decisions that they have made.
  15. No Power and Brown hurts them but we wont win pretty in this one either I cant help but rate the lions list. Would love some more players on our list who have a red hot crack like Rockliff, Banfield etc. Rich, Rockliff, Black is as strong as Trengove Jones and Moloney IMO. Throw the likes of Drummond, Adcock, Merret etc and i reckon they are better than people might like to believe. No Jurrah hurts us - he's performed well against the lions on mroe than one occasion.
  16. Photo of Cam Bruce and the Wiz was nice to see.
  17. I remember a fair few games during the Daniher (or balme?) years where Neita and the Ox would throw their weight around with great effect. We'd be seemingly down and out and they'd just start hurting blokes and the whole team would lift with them. Good times
  18. FB: Bartram , Sellar , Rivers HB: Garland , Frawley , Bennell C : Watts , Trengove , Bate HF: Petterd , Martin , Green F : Howe , Clark , Davey R : Jamar , Moloney , Jones I/C: Magner , Blease, Gysberts SUB: Grimes I'm guessing somthing like this... Maybe without one of Bennell or Blease for Couch?
  19. It was sad to see him in another jumper, but good on him. He played well and you cant begrudge him or GWS for taking the punt
  20. dees best and fairest? Frawley dees best 1st year player? magner goals clark will kick? 36 games jurrah will play? 0 dees surprise of the year? Win at Patersons Stadium premiers? hawks first coach to get sacked? Nill biggest off field controversy? Jurrah games won by gws? 0
  21. Im glad he got the nod. Neeld has done the right thing by puting the like of Couch and Magner on the RL. No disrespect to Nicho / Pickles but proven VFL player are more likley to serve us well over the next 3-4 years than more young mids
  22. My thoughts exactly. No amount of words can do justice to the man and his contribution to society, the game and our club. RIP Jimmy
  23. sorry mate, big difference between us and Carlton. Carlton were a contender last year, had a bad NAB cup = No reason to panic! We had a pretty bad year last year. had a bad NAB cup = reason for panic! carlton have proven performers in our list, they would have been hoping for good preseason form to continue their form from last year. We have alot of young guys and we were hoping to see some good progress from last year - we're seeing a similar thing so far...
  24. thanks for the input Cameron.
