Add hannebery and it will be a tough midfield to break into

    No he's not
  3. I think this is a really good point. We have a pretty tough run home, but only 4 games against top 8 sides (actually 3 - cats, swans and wc, but for the sake of argument lets include crows in Adelaide). If we are a serious finals side then we win two of those sides at a minimum. If we can't, well were not up to finals standard pure and simple.

Rioli not a champion? I have heard it all now.
  5. Agree 100%. We have been a terrible kicking side for at least a decade, more really. its killing us. No matter what style of footy is in vogue there will ALWAYS be a premium on kicking skills. It is the key reason i questioned trading Watts (not wanting to open up that argument btw - i fully understand the decision, particularly given Fritsch is just about our best kick) Look at the last quarter of the Cats and saints games. Turning the ball over costs us both games. Both games drove me spare. People remember the turnovers that result in opposition goals but the ones that break scoring chains are equally damaging and often go unremarked. But it not just the turnovers. My pet hate is players who don't have the basic footy skill of weighting or direct the ball properly to maximize a forwards chances of marking the footy. it is a key reason why we have so many fruitless inside 50 entries. Ok we kick the ball long to packs as a system but how many times on Sunday (every week really) was the ball put on top of forwards heads rather that out in front allowing them to jump forward. Hopeless
  6. No i know. I had very similar inteI. Was assuming the protest was related to on filed performance.
  7. DZ have you got rid of you avatar of Jordon Lewis as a form of protest?
  8. And still don't some don't get it. Blame the symptom and don't understand the cause. See the tip of the ice berg and not what is under the water. A back line of Rance, Scarlett, Hardeman, Silvagni, Jetta and McLeod would not stop us being scored on heavily when: opposition players are allowed rebound from their defensive half so quickly because of non existent forward half pressure (making it all but impossible for any mids etc to get back and block holes) we make horrendous turnovers at our half forward line and going inside 50 (hello Brayshaw x 3) which given we are sweeping forward allow the ball to ping back the other way, often straight up the corridor we make horrendous turnovers in our back half, gifting opposition goals - hello Lewis and TMac our players don't gut run to put pressure on opposition players, allowing them to tic tac up the ground and kick the ball into their inside 50 under no pressure whatsoever we employ the most aggressive forward press/zone in the league that to work requires a team NOT having the four issues above
  9. Speaking of Punter's lament i backed Doggies to win. Ouch
  10. Frustrating. And a big dose of punters lament. I was going back and forth between Shillelagh and Savanna Amour. Almost went with Shillelagh as it rated higher 3 points higher than Savanna Amour but its form has been average and has a poor strike rate so went the other way, If i win Tatts i'm going to buy a horse and call it Punter's lament.

If he plays well and we get through it might be the kruze cup
  12. WFA for fillies and mares race so i I am going to trust the ratings. Daysee Doom, with 111 rates on top, has pretty good first up record (5: 2 - 2), likes it good (14: 6 - 3) and the distance (6: 4 - 2). Seems pretty good vale. My other selection is Savanna Amour. At 106 has a good enough rating, good win last start in unsuitable ground. Likes the track ( 3: 2 - 0) and the good going (12: 6 - 3). In this class is 4: 2 - 1 so has the runs on the board. Barrier one might be a concern if she gets boxed in but if she gets a nice smother might be able to trail leader and be there at the pointy end. Good luck punters
  13. You clearly are not watching the same game as me. Rag dolled. Sheesh
  14. Something that people seem to struggle to get their head around. When i say people i mean the average footy fan and even many of the so called footy experts in the media. Last night's game was a good example. Wet cokes' mid filed pressure was terrible, partic in the first quarter and the bombers were able to kick the ball to their forwards advantage time and time again. It made that peanut Stringer look like Dunstall and the WC backs like hacks
  15. I call Oscar Dr Cool now.
  16. Rubbish. This year has proved that he can handle the 'gorrillas' and win the one on one battles. He is only playing his 50th game and he is the key big man trusted to take the oppositions biggest forward in a team that will play finals. The 90s would have suited him perfectly. It is commonly accepted players do not hit their peak until they have played aprox 80-90 games. So Oscar will be hitting his peak at the end of next year, start of 2020. By then he won't be muscled of the ball and will have 40 odd games of craft and experience playing against the best forwards in the AFL (he really started being the key defender mid of last year).
  17. Tatts tiara gets my vote. It's hard enough doing oz form!
  18. Absolutely. And its location means it would get thousands walking past it on each of these occasions, pre and post games, and be a natural meeting spot.
  19. Absolutely. In addition to things such as apartments and gym i think a bar would do super well in that location. My thinking is less a dees social club, more a commercial bar that we own and operate. There is bugger all in that area, particularly since the pub directly opposite closed. That pub was heaving pre and post games. The Hilton/pullman is a woeful place for a drink. Expensive and awful atmosphere. I went to Nixons (what a shocking name) after the doggies game. It is in a crap location and is a pretty crappy pub but it was packed full of dees fans singing he song and celebrating as i'm sure it is after every game (obviously with other supporters). Jolimont would attract even more people and not be a dead area during the week - well not as dead. A half decent pub/bar with decent food would make an absolute killing.
  20. I reckon they should keep the dees shop where it is. For old times sakes. Jokes.
  21. The Pullman you mean. Surely we will have our own bar., which after a win would make a huge profit. Better than lurking at the g for a post match drink. How awesome would it be to go to a dees venue right next to the g after a win (and before for that matter)? Geez if they made sure there was a pinball machine and tab EBT i'd go there when we're not playing!
  22. Its a better location than the pies base in terms of access. As close to Richmond station and indeed the Swan st tram route (75?), There is a railway station right there that links to the north and city (and therefore the west). Throw in the multiple Punt road bus routes and the fact it is only 10 min stroll though the gardens from parliament Station and it could not have better PT access options.
  23. Exactmundo. A quirk really. As is the fact that the CoM stretches across almost to Kensington
  24. Agree on all of that. I add that on game days hundreds of kids and families would use it to kick the footy pre and post game like they do on that oval between Hisense and Rod Laver arenas (which ironically used to be one of several footy grounds in that spot). Local residents might be rich and powerful but may not get a say depending on planning decisions.
  25. How would it be annexing public parkland? It would improve it if anything. A beaut mint condition footy oval that lik goschs paddock is open to the public for use
