Yes. As it was an involvement - not sure if it was a free or mark. I assume a mark as he clearly stops the ball - and if so beggars belief it wasn't 50. In any case it will be listed as mark or free.
  2. Agree with all of the above. The other thing about Oscar's development is that it is only this year, with Lever coming in and him putting on 5kg + of muscle that that week in, week out he solely plays the lock down one, one key position defender against the oppositions best forward. Before TMac went forward 2/3 through the season Oscar predominately played the intercept role, and even after TMac went forward (a move only made possible by the way because of the confidence in Oscar to do the job down back) he still played that role a fair bit. He copped a fair bit of stick but I was at pains to say how hard the intercept role can be, particularly if the mid field pressure drops off as it so badly did from after the doggies game. If proof of that is needed look at the struggles Lever has had this year. Oscar's acceleration is not great which makes the intercept role even harder but I think Oscar did a great job in that role last year. My point is that that experience will be terrific for him and makes him an even better defender going forward. Oscar won't hit his peak for another 2-3 years and as you say CBF probably still will put on a bit more size. Lever will also develop in that period and hopefully get bit stronger and improve his one on one skills. Jake and Oscar will no doubt improve their synergy and will be a formidable defensive partnership for the dees for another 8-10 years all things being equal.
  3. Easy tiger. Lets wait for a season or two before assessing his worthiness to wear the jumper of the great ronald dale.

i couldnt help yell out that this must be another example of carlisle being 'really mature', which is how he described himself in an article i read during the week in which he espousing his leadership skills.
  5. Greatest Of All Time?
  6. Goody's comments in the post match presser about weed were instructive. He refrenced omac and emphasised that tall key poistion players always take time as they need to get bigger and stronger. Agree with the comments about his importance structurally and the idea of giving him a good block of games to develop. He looks as if he has got taller and will be a beast in 3 years time. I think the reaction from team mates to his great mark and goal suggest what his role is/will be.

On it. Actually checked afl pro already but vision not up yet. I assume it take the same 12 hours post game as the replay.

Only behind Jones and Olver as our best extractor. Often when he gets holding the ball its because he has got in it in heavy traffic and rather than hold on to it tries to release it. When he does so successfully he often triggers a scoring chain. Frustrating or not was unquestionably one of our better players today. I look forward to dong an AFL stats pro review
  10. Yep spot on. We were running on fumes. I wonder if we have put in a big training block with a view to tapering and peaking come finals time as we have struggled to run out a few games now. The way footy is played ATM it is going to be a very long season. Th fittest side might well win this years's flag.

Good thing i have live pass then. Ive already watcged every one if his game since the start of 2017. Beautiful stuff. Seems you misunderstood me again ?
  12. I haven't got my email with code as of yet. Have others still not got theirs?

Haven't done form for today (as i have said my Autumn has finished) so no best bets but my thoughts on today's group races based on recollection of the exposed form of the horses through Autumn. You have to give Qualista a good chance today. Like Savacool, a horse that always runs well. Gets out in front and challenges other horses to catch it and i've said before on this thread i really like good horses that sit on the speed. Similarly Sprightly Lass is terrific race horse that does not know how to run a bad race. Looks good value i reckon. Desert Lashes will surely test it though. A good horse. I backed Savapinski last start and it looks to deserve favoritism. But perhaps a little short? I backed Jester Halo and odds last start and it blundered the start, which is always poor but worse when it is a horse that likes to sit on the speed. Came home against the pattern for a fighting 4th and if it gets away allright today has to be chance. Has 3.5kg pull in the weights from Savapinski and due a win. Coming Through is really good horse and deserves favoritism in the Hollindale i would have thought but i would not be shocked if Oregon Day runs a bold race. Has been there or thereabouts this Autumn in four group races without winning (three very close seconds and last start 2.9 length 4th to Alizee). At each way odds.

Apologies. Posted the thread on my phone (on the train) so couldn't put link. It also explains my spelling issues. I had an update and since then for the life of me cannot get spell check back. it is actually hard to find on the afl.com site. On the menu on the main page running across the top is tab labelled stats. Click that and you will see this tab: You then click on the watch button Here is direct link:http://www.afl.com.au/stats/stats-pro#/ The above is from the PC site. You can find it on the app for mobile and tablets but it was all but unusable whn i tried it on my tablet. too much data and video options.
  15. Goodwin mentioned continuity. He might havw avoided the axe to enure some continuity in the team. He and harmes both need good games wirh viney and salem both back for gc (hopefully).

I start very few threads, in fact i think this is probably only my 2nd or 3rd in my time on DL. But i am really excited about a new innovation on afl.com called stats pro. Well to be precise excited about the video element where you can watch the edited video of every players involvements for each game from the start of 2017. The involvements match the stats collected on afl stats pro, so spoils, one percenters, score involvements, frees against, kicks, marks, clangers etc. You can watch every involvement or just highlights. But you can also select specific involvements (which are often part of clusters of involvements). Unfortunately it is only for telstra mobile customers who have live pass but i wanted to flag it those who have live pass. It is brilliant and a fascinating way to analyse how individual players perform. Genuinely new way to absorb the game and will definetley allow viewrs to assess players more objectively. Ive watched the video for about 8 of the players from the bombers game. Addictive. One player that was interesting was tyson. His game was much better than i haf thought it was. Got caught a couple of times and a couple of clangers but jeez he was involved in alot of good clearances and scoring chains. Weideman was another whise game was better than i had thought (albeit still not fantastic). He looks quite a natural ruck man. Has anyone used this yet?
  17. This confirms my confirmation bias that jnr has a small problem with comprehension.
  18. Fell free to not reply to this query Drunkn, and fully understand [censored] not cool to reveal any potentially inside sensitive information about the club, but in a general sense do you have a sense of how 'the vibe' is at both the MFC and Casey among the players, and if so how would you describe it?
  19. Thanks Ditcha, I have been waiting for this - and so has my son - needs school shoes (he wears black NB runners)!

Maybe mix it up. For example you could do the best 22 from the 70's, or the best 22 of a team of players recruited to Melbourne or the bets 22 from our premierships or what about our best 22 of NQRs and delisted players since 2000 (so many to choose from!)?
  21. I liked drunkn's vfl analysis. Very balanced and informative. Good idea andy for it to be regular thing if he is up for it.
  22. Agree. Close to my fav acadaca song and it is plain rude to cut it so short. we should protest!
  23. Oscar must be approaching afl standard.....
  24. I don't really care but we were tipped by many pre season to be a top 4 chance and the pies to struggle to make the 8. The response has to be seen in that context.
