  1. Mclure absolutely shits me to death. But he's on the money here!
  2. I see the logic in him being an employee and having finished at the dees etc etc. But in my mind he is a demon and i don't care how illogical i am in saying this but i don't want him coaching another club. Full Stop. And Collingwood? Perish the thought.
  3. But like so many things in life not what it appears. Apparently his smile was in response to the umpire advising him the siren had gone and that if he played on he couldn't shoot for goal. No smugness there, more likely having a wry smile at the how bad an outcome playing on would be.
  4. Yes. But it is a game pkan that didnt stand up when it counted. And besides lewis and mitchell were not only their best contested ball winners, both were in their best handfull of kicks
  5. Not really a convert as such. Played footy right up to under 16s, which goes a long way to explaining his rapid improvement and his ability to read the game well. A terrific pick up
  6. Kelly for mine. Exactly what we are missing - a good outside mid with strong aerobic capacity. Besides Martin is not MFC/MCC material
  7. So do i. Alot. I have said it many times. Having a good number of quality left footers is super valuable in today's footy. Call it the Hawthorn template.
  8. Agree with both posts. Drive's me insane. How are we supposed to keep a city with a connection to history when we tear that history down. Such a thing would be unthinkable in most European cities. On a much smaller scale the house opposite where i live was a beaut family home that has been demolished for 3 bog ugly dog boxes. Now i don't mind that so much as increasing density is really the only way to stop the ridiculous urban sprawl occurring in Melbourne. What i do mind is that latitude developers get to build rubbish houses with rubbish material that look crap and will be knocked down in 20 years. What i mind even more is the developers complete disregard for the law. The council approved the development but mandated a beautiful flowering gum on the block had to remain. A tree that was at least 40 years old ad home to native birds that otherwise struggle against the invasion of the bloody miner birds. The demolishing crew completely cleared the site including the tree. When i called the Councillor on the day it occurred and suggested they get down there to intercede the jumped up planning apparatchik completely dismissed my concerns and said they weren't the police. They said they would investigate and i asked them to let me know the outcome (which s should be n order to plant a new tree). Three months later not a single word back form them. Meanwhile they make us jump through ridiculous hoops for the small renovation we are doing (including saying we have to put our proposed new fence back from the existing fence line a half a meter and plant shrubs in front of it - reducing our land area, sorting us money with the stupid plants and giving us another area we have to maintain - not to mention creating an are for rubbish to collect) Rant over.
  9. Maybe his family don't like him. Or they have a cool sense of humour. Or both
  10. I have been posting on DL for about 5 years now, perhaps 6 (or more?). We have some good trades in that time, with the best of them being Vince and Tyson. But even with those there were some posters who questioned the decision to trade them in. I don't think i have read one dissenting voice about the Lewis trade which must be DL first. This is why: http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/video/2016-10-18/farewell-jordan-lewis
  11. ......it's the second time i have fallen for it this week!
  12. Agree. He was a liability. Ironic that gws got johnson in at leastvin part because of his experience in finals and he gets himself rubbed out with some misguided physical palaver. Potentially cost them a gf win
  13. The Age reporting the lewis deal is done (report by tjhat smarmy twerp McClure) http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-trade-period-2016-live-coverage-day-six-20161016-gs3iok.html
  14. And my two cents is that this is directy related to the age players are drafted. getting 17-18 year old kids is a raffle. So much cann change physically and mental between that age and say 21, 22. the NBA and NFL also has its share of busts but the college system and that fact that most players are 2- 22 hen drafted makes them much rarer - at least at the top end of the draft. I don't know but i wonder if late picks are sometimes older players, like vanders and perhaps more predicable.
  15. Well if this eventuates you would shoot to the top of the DL rumor charts. Incredibly detailed and name sources. Gold standard rumor posting. Well done sir (even if it falls over!)
  16. Not for mine. I reckon Hibberd will be an excellent addition. We have enough Koby like players. We have bugger all players who can reliably hit a target 40 plus metres away.
  17. I must learn about that. Berlin would also be a different city and Germany a different country if the allies had reached Berlin first. The vengeance wreaked by the Russians on Berliners is mid blowing. I love Berlin by the by.
  18. To be fair very few events would trigger the end of the world.
