I liked the way he fought back from his life threatening illness and surprised many by not only getting back into the VFL seniors, but also playing well. Au contrare, I would be very surprised and disappointed if the club came out and made sweeping statements to the media. I would presume that they are in contact with the AFL on a regular basis, responding to questions with simple answers, and also I would presume that they have taken legal advice as to how to respond in the event of an adverse finding. They would be crazy to show their hand publicly, at this stage.

It was interesting to read that Dumbitriou once again invoked "integrity" in his statement today, yet failed to mention the widely questioned 3 strike drug policy, sanctioning of the $cully double dealing etc etc. Nor did he of course refer to the game that really put tanking on the map, when Brock McLean's chosen club won the Kruzer Cup in laughable circumstances. Had we managed to lose that one would we have been investigated for tanking earlier? Nor Collingwood, or Hawthorn. Did he mention that only one club has actually won the hated fifth game when four would have resulted in a priority pick.....and that club did it twice? Now who was that? Melbourne of course. Did Bailey, Schwab, Connolly or was it the ailing Jimmy who kicked the after siren goal to get the Toiges over the line? Jimmy said in his book that we didn't tank, though had mixed feelings about results, but of course he can't be cross examined. Are the AFL questioning his integrity? I recall that Junior said the same. But, no, they choose to follow up on the oblique accusations of a rather dimwitted disgruntled ex player. His selective reference to integrity absolutely stinks, but is nothing new.

A home game against of all teams, Norf, at Doglands is a travesty. Otherwise little reason to complain other than the annual "away" game vs Essendung (saves the high integrity AFL biting the bullet and just telling the Bummers to fix an away jumper) and the annual trip to Geelong.

ExactlyMods - do we really need yet another thread on this? If it is okay can I start a "Thursday update on tanking alleged investigation" tomorrow? Whilst a supporter of freedom of speech, this site is becoming as cluttered by redundant threads as 'ology was towards its end. It makes it difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff.

If I weren't paranoid I would think that the AFL are out to screw us! These very selective leaks presumablyfrom AFL HQ, Misfit's leaks earlier in the year, and the bastard has the temerity to talk of integrity??!!If our guys aren't in Vlad's ear every day there is a problem, but FFS don't let them speak to the media. I hope that they have the injunction drafted and ready to roll.

To those complaining that the club isn't out there ranting and raving publicly defending our innocence, consider that it may be in our interests to 'keep the powder dry', await an 'outcome' and if any unproven finding is made and any sanction imposed then come out all guns blazing, court injunctions etc etc. Anything premature would only encourage the 'drip feeding' that we are all suffering. All we have heard so far are lots of unproven allegations, mainly by disgruntled former players or employees, allegedly.

All of these things are still just unproven allegations.......however IF Brent was involved it would explain a lot about his dismal "efforts" and pi55poor attitude throughout 2012.

Dont forget the at least two of the "powerhouse clubs", both starting with C, did whatever it is that we are alleged to have done: use the AFL's own rules to maximum advantage.Which AFL rule have we allegedly broken anyway? Please quote.
