  1. The guy said 2-3 years when he started - that is 1-2 max from now. A "reasonable expectation" when he arrived was that we would be playing OK (hate the word but "competitive") 2013 ie now, and really well by 2014. I have been extremely patient and supportive but enough is enough. MOVE ON MARK. You have lost everyone.
  2. Does anyone know what is the half-life of peptides?
  3. I have said it before and will repeat it. Good teams have gutsy and inspirational LEADERS...........we have none on or off field. We will get nowhere until we do, regardless of any game plan be it corridor or boundary focused, man on man or zone. We need leaders.
  4. You ate being too specific regarding their HGA - EVERYONE beats us at Badlands and has for what the last 8 or 10 years. Even when we were doing ok around 2005-6.
  5. They are just bloody good, AND HAVE A LOT OF ON FIELD LEADERS. If one is a bit down (rare enough) others stand up.
  6. ....and didn't Michael Tuck play about 1000 Reserves games before his 1000 senior ones?
  7. Sorry jumbo - your photo is not very clear, and I can't be sure if I detect the tongue-in-cheek or not.
  8. One would have to say, what is the rush? Were there other suitors out there clambering to get him? I would doubt that very much. As has been said, surely one would only sign established players before the end of any season, let alone the season we are having. What exactly does he offer? Was it the same person at the club who gave Newton his hundred year extension?? Have the goat photos been passed on to him??
  9. Moloney lost me when he turned up on 186 day knowing he wasn't up to it and let the whole club down badly - maybe justifying it by thinking he didn't want to let down his mates, but he actually did, big time. A very selfish, not a selfless, act. The post Bailey sulks was the icing on the cake. Presumably Bailey let him do whatever he liked and Neeld, rightly or wrongly, for better or worse, wanted him to follow team rules and protocols which he didn't seem to like doing. QED
  10. ....which in turn proved that he wasn't really a leader. A leader would have "shoved it right up him" as you put it by positive actions on the field, not by sulking like he did. Leader....pffftt.
  11. FCS talk about rewarding the undeserving. 55 percent of the teams would play "finals"!!! Way back, "when we were good" it was 33 percent. This would certainly cheapen "we made the finals". One possible way of maintaining interest of those not achieving, and also spinning a few bucks for the AFL would be for those not reaching the top 8 of the competition to "play off" (AD would surely like those words with their American connotations) in some sort of round robin arrangement over maybe 2 or 3 weeks, certainly not 4 which would clash with the GF, maybe 9-13 and 14-18 for draft order, with the better performed getting the pick......certainly would put the concept of tanking to rest and provide a little interest late in the season for the under performers, whilst till giving the bottom five teams the pick of the draft, andthenext five the next five picks but not rewarding total failure or tanking.
  12. So, do you KNOW that there was no communication between the box and Missen - like maybe some sort of telecommunication, not a megaphone or semaphore flags? Perhaps it was all a preordained plan and were there to be changes to it - after all a practice match designed to improve match fitness and not a game for points (and being a Scorpions game it wouldnt be their call anyway).
  13. ......had a great week on the track......oh noooooo........every I hear that, things go from bad to worse to even worse
  14. ...and one of those would have made for an interesting video review. It was I think Len Mann who looked as if he had marked it just inside the goal line. Cold and wet but loved every minute of it. Innocently, naïvely, I thought such things as MFC playing not just finals (every year 1954-1964) but GFs (1954-1960&1964) would go on forever. What a rude shock!
  15. Are we sure that Frawley will be here next year? He certainly hasn't shown any interest in being there this year? And Sellar?
  16. Spot on - first year players haven't yet learned our deplorable culture - hopefully PJ can get in early enough to change that culture and save these youngsters. I well remember his namesake, Nathan, being discussed in similar terms for his first few years - good ordinary player with poor finishing skills; look at him now. And similarly re the early Todd Viney for that matter, so there is hope if we ie PJ can do something to endow the club with some spirit.
  17. As has been pointed out, that "win" against Carltank was not a win in any way, not on the field or more importantly off it. And the win against the Dogs was the ultimate "antitank". Should have lost it, easily, given comparative form at the time, but blew it badly. Shameful record. No wonder we cannot draw any sort of crowd at that soulless stadium......we just not win there, even back in the days when we were "competitive". PS. mind you, given our record, it would be interesting to see how NN and or Kruzer would have "developed" at MFC.
  18. Geezzz. That really puts it all in perspective. I think I, and others, may have just been lulled into feeling it has been "a bit of a slump" but it is truly awful. Worse than the 1970s and early80s. A disaster. Please help us save ourselves Peter Jackson.
  19. I don't think it is fair on Toumpass to compare him with Wines, at this stage. How would Wines have been playing in a crap "team" (using the word team very loosely; how would Toumpass have been playing in a well drilled, confident, enthusiastic tea,? Nobody will ever be able to tell, but just thought it worthy of thought.
  20. A shambolic episode.........because Caro says so?? ;-)))
  21. ....and replace him with whom? I can identify with the impatience, but who would want to coach a club that would have sacked their past 4 coaches mid-contract?
  22. I lost count, but is this the sixth Peter Jackson thread??
  23. Surely you don't expect any consistency from our beloved MRP / Tribunal, do you. Their failure to act on that cowardly off ball incident, with significant injury, was an absolute disgrace. Their only consistency is their inconsistency. But on balance I reckon Col should accept the ban - I am a little surprised (as stated earlier) that the "MFC multiplier" wasn't applied - maybe, sadly, they have like the rest of the footy world, pity on us :-(((
  24. Peter Jackson is an incredibly smart guy - knows both footy and corporate governance. I just hope he can persuade the Board to stand down and allow a fresh start before we curl up and die. (And Peter Jackson has had a lot of experience managing hobbits and orcs so surely he can get our motley crew up and running!)
