My big impression Friday night was that the whole team was far more coherent and knew and trusted their teammates far more than I have seen at MFC for a long time. IMO that is a big contribution to our overall improvement

Dawes was far from bad in his brief stints in the ruck (as seen from the TV screen, anyway). But would Pedersen (or Gawn) be a better option as back up, with JW being given the opportunity to spend a few weeks at Casey regaining touch, form and confidence?

What is his contract status? ;-) And, remind me, was he recruited before or after they started using "the good stuff"?

Who is the genius who dug up vandenBerg from obscurity? Needs a medal. A big bodied tackling machine with skills. I feel really sorry for the likes of Jordie McK who is all heart, and has stuck through the very dark years but will really struggle to get a run.

A credit firstly to the players, and to the coaching panel and how about the trading / recruiting - vandenBerg, Vince, Michie, Newton, Tyson, O'Brien, Hogan, Salem, Garlett, JKH, Brayshaw all played their roles.
