Are we seeing Geelongs culture crumbling?
monoccular replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bleeding Red n Blue, I hope. What a way to go. Adieu -
If he is from Canberra, Saturday's weather shouldn't worry him one bit. Should thrive on it.
-
But only because the package wasn't playing Heard it so many times last week Awful

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was wondering how long it would take. -
We will find out this week at the MRP whether they regard the head as sacrosanct are if they are as corrupt as they sometimes appear. Taylor Adams [allegedly] DELIBERATELY kneed an opponent - I think Westhoff - in the face (part of HEAD) several times. Should be 4 or 5 weeks but because he didn't kill or concussion him I guess they will say Ko case to answer of some piddling (for them) fine They have a choice : mark their ground and stamp this thuggery out, now, or say it it ok ,or not too bad, and it will continue until there is a serious injury. Dog of an act with potential for extremely serious injury.

Bloody Taylor Adams. Animal. Kneed ?Westhoff several times in the face whilst on the ground. We will find out just how sacrosanct the MRP finds the head I guess.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can't complain about the lineup I just hope that Max can ruck all day as he really has no help -
Isn't it just fantastic that Hird and his lawyers always find someone else to blame other than.......James Hird. The same James Hird who announced as the story broke all those years ago --- "I will accept full responsibility" He has accepted none, zero, nought. Not for the drug experiment, not for the team performance. If I could be bothered I would trawl through his period as a commentator and see what he said of coaches of unsuccessful teams. Doubt if he has put it all on the players' heads. Just shown his true character - fantastic footballer, deeply flawed person.

Reading elsewhere, I think that I am wrong. Maybe some sort of uncle.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15

I hate it too, but we did ok in it vs the Druggists last year....just. -
I am waiting for the soothsayers come out with their "flash-in-the-pan" posts Well done Aaron. You have started well, and fitted into a much needed rôle. Keep it up. We have seriously missed you
-
Yeah....hope that they aren't bringing back the 'top ups' that did us in the preseason. :-((

I believe that he is the son of Wayne, who is famous for a "pretty spectacular goal assist" in a GF v Collingwood. And by the way people talk of a heavy ground this weekend - just have a look at the video of that game...that is heavy. Trouble is who would that be?? Junior Mc used to do it but he isn't playing. Cant think of anyone else, And you believe one word that that compulsive 'stranger to the truth' (as they say in parliament) would say? Probably means that he is in.

Just watched the highlight of ladt year's match Great last Q fightback Loved Jordie's two precision handballs in that last passage, and Salem's composure - even though in Derwayn's call he wasn't even an option for that last pass. Reminded me also of what an awful commentator Derwayn is. 'His greatest moment ' keeps coming from his mouth. And his blatant barracking for the Druggists. Awful.

* do you mean the right choice in abandoning the club that supported (and paid) him so well during his illness and injuries???? Many I know following other clubs, Geelong included, felt he let down those who helped him. Still we got HL and Geelong got a NQR.

Was Brayshaw subbed due to concussion or due to concern over a possible serious neck injury, that has now been cleared?
-
Are you implying that the 'injury' may be well above the shoulders?? Still one less match up - Viney will need to needle someone else. Though tagging may be a better option: needling is designed to lift this opposition team.
-
Ridley didn't get far it's us: even TGRDB couldn't (after success at Carltank and Norf). Yes, favourite sons are not often successful: most successful coaches come from other clubs at least in the 'modern era' - Matthews, Malthouse, Sheedy, Thompson, Blight.
-
i must say that the news of Watson missing to me is a worry- far too often over many years we have gone down to teams that have lost leading players through injury or suspension. It is a mental thing. FCS just go out and beat up whoever is there.
-
Getting a bit picky, Ethan - thats all I could find on my laptop. Anyway, we need to just do it √
-
I would have thought that now he is under WADA scrutiny he would have dumped all that stuff from his bag down the sewer....so I think the bag will be empty. The six day break - will that mean that we are more likely to bring back Brayshaw (if fit) as he played only a few minutes, and vandenBerg, and maybe Fitz, as well as considering debuting Harmes?

Delistings/trades at end of the season
monoccular replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
If the Fitz played on him every week, he would be cooked. Lucky for him he isn't. -
The press just never get things right, never give MFC credit where it is due. alf.com say he "injured his neck while attempting to tackle Wellingham" - attempting to tackle FCS!!!! Fiercely / brutally tackling more to the point.
