Relocation of North Melbourne Game?
I was fearing that might occur and we get shafted again and lose momentum. Last years stuff up whilst not any excuse, didnât help the cause with having to squeeze games in to a tighter time frame.

NON MFC: Rd 06 2021
Hopefully BBB will debut for us then and kick 10 goals.

NON MFC: Rd 06 2021
They have only beaten teams below them ?

NON MFC: Rd 06 2021
Scrappy sort of game though ..... maybe the Canberra swamp has this effect?

Training Ground?
? - do you know if their plan includes changing the size and shape of their ground?

Kate Roffey Set to Become President of the MFC
As long as equality means equality of opportunity, and is not demanding equality of outcome, then that is fine. Some of the hard left of the US Democrats seem to be confusing the two, demanding that everyone is equal regardless of talent and of effort. That leads down a very dangerous path. I hope that Kate is the best person for the job, and it sounds as if she probably is. If that is the case I donât care if she is M F L G T B I or anything else but first and foremost MFC!

Training Ground?
Rust .... are you suggesting that we relocate to Barnawartha? Would upset more than a few. ?? I think that is an issue - trace, king from maybe the inner city to Casey mid winter especially is most unattractive. And of course Chri$$$$ Judd used this as at least one of his excuses for not choosing melbourne. dpositive - are you a government spin writer? Reasonable road access from southern and bayside areas but almost no public transport. Somewhat akin to Dingley I guess. Not as remote as Casey but perhaps worryingly close to Seaford.

Is it JORDAN or JORDON?
Is this just two much pedantasism, or even prehaps pedantry???

AFL & ASADA to share Essendon drug saga documents
Wasnât sure where to post this clip from The Shovel - this seemed the most appropriate

Demons Defence Best Since 1965
Should be done ritually in the centre circle of the MCG - maybe raised on a pitchfork?? Then we could borrow one of the Hawthorn Presidentâs fiery cauldrons from Crown Casino and complete the ultimate exorcism.

NON MFC: Rd 05 2021
I know that even without listening. We have also lost our bookends, and our other two KP forwards have yet to grace the field.

Training Ground?
The problem with Junction Oval was that cricket has it until our season starts, so no preseason there. I am sure it has been asked (and answered) before, but how far short of MCG size is Ghoshâs? How many trees would need to come down to make it fit? And are the facilities at the bubble dome fully utilized? Could at least toilet facilities and maybe a coffee / hot dog stand be somehow integrated?

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Agree that introducing both would radically upset our working structure Witout suggesting complacency, the following week vs North we could experiment / tweak a bit and debut BBB against they who did not want him. P2J. I remember AJ#13 debuting for us against WCE after much fanfare. As I recall we scored 2.2 or thereabouts for the day, and as you say he spent a long stint in the 2s.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I must say that I was shocked when searching for goal assists stats to find that LJ is listed as just one ?? I guess it may be a matter of definition but I recall him being involved as the last chain in a goal score at least a handful of occasions this year. Sure may not be a classic forward, but his deep forward pressure and being not outmarked by defenders makes him a valuable forward contributor in my mind. The, plus his ability to release Max to defend or attack makes him a very valuable player.

2021 Injury List
May - eye socket - test! What, are they going to getHawkins up to whack it again? Seriously, how does one test an eye socket? And, Fritsch test too? For once I do not envy the selectors

The Tom McDonald dilemma
Just as the great Norm Smith decided to try a radical experiment - Ronald Barassi (Jnr) as a âruck roverâ. And the rest is history. What I look forward to seeing is oppositions thinking âwho matches up best against Melbourne â

CASEY DEMONS: Rd 01 vs Box Hill Hawks
One cannot maintain what is not already there. A bit like the contradiction of âkeeping politicians honestâ - better put as âtrying to make politicians honestâ!

CASEY DEMONS: Rd 01 vs Box Hill Hawks
So even more inequitable than the AFL âdrawâ .... much could depend on who plays the bad, and who plays the better sides. Surely there will be at least one conference ie talkfest to discuss this Perhaps there will need to be two sections / divisions etc, but we are not (yet) totally Americanized (despite ex CEO Vladâs love of all things American in sport) so leave that term to them.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Anyone old enough to remember MFC premierships will remember the invincible Jet Jackson, flying commando TV series. Hope he becomes our Jet Jackson.

Noise Pollution at the Footy
Spot on Tony. I havenât been going much recently, for various reasons, but the meaningless din and inability to chat with others has ruined the âmatch day experienceâ forme and many other I have spoken with, when able. Clearly Gil, and DumbItriou before him, have been influenced by the American sports, which in the case of gridiron is so stop start that it needs something to fill the gaps. They also presumably watch from glass boxes most of the time. The Essendon air raid siren was, in retrospect, just a minor annoyance especially when compared to the bloody intrusive betting ads, which pervade all aspects of our lives.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Not sure if I have posted elsewhere, but playing back up ruck he had more hit outs himself than the Hawk ruckmen combined, as well as offering so much around the ground, on the ground and up forward.
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
He certainly adds versatility, with his ground work potentially putting Max and he ahead of even the Jimmy / Strawb combination. And for someone who has had, as I understand it, time away from footy, he shows a great understanding of the game and of the team set up.

The Choco Appreciation Thread
Wow! Just caught up with the interview. What an amazing man to have on board - wide experience, humble, enthusiastic and aware of the needs of developing players, and the club as a whole. We are indeed fortunate to have found him when we did. Basic skills and life management All speculation, of course, but one canât but wonder what effect he would / could have had on our run of top picks including Watts, Trengove, (he who must not be named), Strauss, and soon. Kudos to whomever sought him out.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 v Hawthorn
But one canât help loving Frostyâs enthusiasm and endeavor - dashing off like a spooked gazelle who smelled a stalking lion. Could he (Jones) possibly develop an annoy8ng 2 week muscle strain and need to be âmanagedâ? Jackson alone had (as back up ruck) more hit outs than all Hawks ... and ever forget the fitness to run out games and run over opponents in Q4

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Hawthorn
Bloody amazing.
