  1. Just turned on the TV - saw Sydney and some artificial team in black. Wondered who the hell it was before realising that some moron in AFL HQ must think orange clashes with white and red. Certainly for those who believe in the concept of “playing for the jumper” could explain why GW$ seems so meaningless and lacking in purpose.
  2. Well that last few minutes of Q3 with Collingwood conceding 3 goals in as many minutes was reminiscent of the Melbourne of old. Another nail in Buckley’s coffin?
  3. But as others have said, we have only beaten teams below us. ? A bit like the bottom teams complaining of a rigged schedule because they only play teams above them ?
  4. Whilst not “gun” as a forward, I seem to recall Tassie Johnson playing a bit as a CHF (as well as ruck-rover) late in his career. Sean Wight was also handy at times as a swing man forward
  5. Melksham had better grasp this opportunity with both hands. His lack of intensity and defensive effort is a very poor example from a senior for this rapidly developing young team. Mitch Brown for Fritsch is most like for like. Havent seen enough of Hawthorn’s forward line to say whether Hibberd, or the taller but less experienced Petty is the best replacement for May.
  6. Thanks - yes definitely referring to the media calling footballers “heroes” especially in the ANZAC context. Can’t believe what went into his veins either ?
  7. What I find even more offensive is the use of the word “hero” especially on ANZAC Day. Likening cushioned safe-at-home footballers, (sure, many are great athletes and show courage on the field), to even the lowliest of our serving military facing artillery, bayonets, gunshot and years of deprivation in the trenches or POW camps is just so disrespectful and lacking in any perspective.
  8. Depends on how much it is displaced from its normal configuration but also whether one of the muscles that move the eye is trapped. So, horses for courses.
  9. Loved that too, and not the first time he has done that this year. Almost deliberately palming it down rather than spilling the mark, showing confidence in the crumbers.
  10. P2J These days one can get a Doctorate (PhD) on just about anything. PhD (Wokeness) is becoming ever more popular.
  11. Exactly. When I saw one of those flukes I thought that Ute told get a nomination. Like so much today glitz beats class. Reading, slowly, the first 8 words I was getting a little concerned ?
  12. Does anyone have those hidden stats for “pressure acts” and “one percenters” particularly re Melksham? Just watching the game he appeared to have little involvement. Still, regardless, Goody won’t drop him.
  13. The article says he has a fractured eye socket - which involves bone damage (fracture)!
  14. So far, so good. You mean poor stats I think. Played his rôle. (3 more tackles than the coach’s mate)
  15. Because he has a long history of carelessly / recklessly elbowing opponents in the face, head and guts.
  16. If that ain’t severe, dunno what is And careless is generous: reckless more appropriate Surgery would be delayed. Too much swelling.
  17. Reckless is the most charitable label one could use. .... and today without our two preferred KPP forwards (and our KPP defender most of the day, thanks Tom). Interesting combination of words. I guess Michael Christian might be influenced by your words.
  18. Hawkins has a history of “carelessly concussing and otherwise injuring opponents faces and heads. Of course “accidental” and the head isn’t really all that sacrosanct all the time.
  19. If it goes like it seems it will, how much pressure will Buckley be under, especially now his big brother protector has moved on?
  20. Does anyone have access to stats on - pressure acts - one percenters - shepherds - chases If so, how does Melksham fit in with these? And another stat - mates with coach 10/10?
  21. Great to have options and some pressure to keep performing.
  22. Can’t ever remember Melksham applying a lot of pressure, which seems to have been our big jump forward this year, and our salvation when we have had a run against us.
  23. Currently battling with bloody Telstra “on line chat” It appears that I am eligible fora $5 per month but cannot get them to answer what I get for this? Is the open access $15 per month a better deal? Does that include golf?
  24. Even more annoying than the statue on the Mark rule is the bloody running 50 meter penalty. Ridiculous.
