Paywall. Agree with most of your points, s o n s, except for JVR. He does apply pressure and tackles, but unfortunately is often buggered by stints in the ruck.

One massive dose of schadenfreude would be watching Daniher the Essendon family icon who told the Bombers to get lost, holding up the cup and waving it to the Bomber fans
  3. Even way back then 🙄
  4. Dangerfield tackle - “nothing to see here. Move on” MChristian
  5. Didn’t Swans lose to the Dogs to be the first to lose a GF to a 5-8 team? Maybe again? Cats must have been close to that in 2007 (or whenever they broke their drought) Just to rub tonight in maybe Chris or even Brad Scott to present the cup if the Lions win. 🤗
  6. OMG those who have a go at the totally banged up Dees choking in finals 2022 and 2023, after a flag, have a good close look at Port and Hinkley. How many straight sets have they done in recent years?
  7. What an absolutely awful decision insufficient intent against Ratagolea - takes the ball a foot inside the boundary with only one way to turn. Disgusting lack of feel for the game.
  8. Too young for Geelong?
  9. Sorry, Joel, but the disillusionment is two way.

I think they were all there 🙄

What a classic choke by GW$ thought that deliberate / insufficient intent decision just shows an absolute zero understanding of the game by the maggot - the guy was pushed in the back as he hit it as far forward as he could off balance. Critical timing.
  12. We need players who can kick, and we need players who can spread: someone who could do both would be gold.

Yes. But also sad that Port didn’t lose too. 🙄

IF Hawks get up, will the maggots escape alive?
  15. IMO a good signing. Experience. Leadership. Poise. Skills. And he has really only had a couple of months of match day battering this year that should leave him quite a bit fresher than many of his team mates and opponents.

What do you actually mean by culture killer? He appeared to be well liked and respected. Yes, he could be a momentum killer if that’s what you mean.
  17. Not so sure if a faster game style would suit Jack in any way at all.

(re Sparrow). “….we just cannot develop players like the best clubs can. “ Maybe he has actually got more out of himself than he thought .. maybe he has reached his ceiling. Hope not though. Looks to me like Hunter was … just maybe we could get one ok year out if him but at what opportunity price and what $$ price??? 🤗 However, as a Cat fan friend pointed out to me in 2022 “too old, too slow … too good”. They have for all our ridicule kept on keeping on longer than most would have imagined.
  19. Lackadaisical

Agree - the cost would be huge. If he were cheap then maybe.
  21. DD - just wondering if you have clearance data from when we were at our best. Other than 'bang, bang, bang' I was of the impression that we tended to lose clearance numbers even when MG11 was dominating hitouts.

But, like so many 'rules' in AFL, only selectively enforced.

Agree 100% - Fullarton's recruiting is an enigma. Tarin Au-Mu sounds a genuine prospect as a forward / ruck but if drafted would expect to take at least a couple of years to get ready for a run.

old dee - agree 100% re FullArton and 0% re JVR McVee and Turner
