Lever said in an interview yesterday that the team was"running on the spot" in the finals last year and had learnt from this. Maybe its too early to rest? There must be some modelling on this that they are working with.

We weren't treated respectfully in that deal and was upsetting. But seeing last night's game , and Luke's inputs, I now have moved on and am sympathetic to him, knowing that last night he saw his future. Its a shame really because inside an elite club/team (us) he would thrive (cue 2021) and money can't buy that feeling. Just hope he's happy and content in other ways.

I can see Pert and Roffey making this announcement a big deal as it is, locking away the golden generation ( as Craig Foster would describe it - and apolgies to lesser lights on the list still not signed). I reckon it just demonstrates the professionalism of the club. Pull out all stops to keep a generational player. The article was adamant that its not a cash issue. So the Club understands this and well done for using the Byron connection as part of the selling team. Kudos to Byron also . The Dees are clearly best fit if Kossie can make Melbourne work as a place to live. I suspect Byron understands this also.

True about the Bombers but I think the AFL finally did something worthwhile giving the Saints the stage for their 150th celebration at the G. 70,000 fans agree. But watching the Saints new Lyon-style play I suspect yet again it won't get it done in September against other current Top 4 contenders (including us) but they'll have a good ride this year.
