I have a theory that when we lost Wowie in 2002 some soul left the club of that group. No-one leaves this cuurent team . Incl the rubbish talked about hogan. The tightness of the players cannot be overestimated.

9000 mcc reserved seats sold out yesterday in 10 minutes . Last week was much longer. Mcc will be packed again with red and blue

Spargo did a couple of good things in tight traffic early showing he wasn't overawed for an 18 year old and remained composed in defence zone. The current lineup got the team into final - west coats game etc and all deserve to remain in barring injury. - Tyson included .
-
Good comment. Compared to the garbage/bias you read on other club sites this is reasonably balanced without the emotion either. Some comments actually reflect demonland comments during the season.

Great call. Could be our biggest risk and needs attention in selection. Tyson worked well as an extractor on Friday but was on the wing at a couple of centre bounces. He and Jones can't play that role next week. Need a fast stopper here.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final

" Blow them away" was Bob's final summary of what the MFC will do tomorrow night and Whately reluctingly agreed that the game would be over well before the final siren. -
Please also remind him that he follows " the Family Club" - and their history is one that rips out $20M in poker machine revenue in the Waverley area and are not relinquishing them - as the MFC is and the Roos have. The highest and longest of any club. "Family" club my arse!

Agree. I will be staggrted if viney plays a substantial midfield role. A few minutes and stoppages here and there. Its performing too well to disturb.

In the Elim. Final of 1987, John Law, the kangas captain, admitted he shook Robbie's hand really hard at the coin toss before the game as the rumour was Flower had a broken finger. As told by Robbie in his book also. Nothing is off limits and the cats need to be on the lookout for AVB and Viney as well as anything Scott has in store. . Max will just go about his business. The Scott boys nickname of the cray brothers was given to them at school. Wesley I think or St. Kevins. Leopards don't change spots as seen in the disgraceful episode on Nick Reiwoldt.

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final
Demon17 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
At training yesterday Tyson cleaning marked hard kicks to him with no discomfort. His kicking was precise and effective also. the team di a lot of 50 m run throughs at 3/4/ pace at thr end but Gawn, Spargo and O mac just jogged easy laps. Not sure what that measn except maybe recognsiing the time of year and not driving Spargo into the ground before Friday. TMAc led nearly all run throughs - huge power from him. -
Interestingly given the apparent GF experience being talked up of Hawkins, inside the cattrey, and directly to me from a highly respected member of the coaching team on the day, they felt Hawkins didn't contribute greatly on the day, esp given his opponent Ben Reid or Chris Tarrant ( I can/t remember which he mentioned) was on one leg. The club's analysis was that Harry Taylor's intercept marking saved them the game, and Bartel' s performance won them the game. Neither are playing now. Chris Scott is yet to prove a solid finals record IMO and Goodwin will add another chapter to this on Friday

Named vice captain of the aflpa under 22 team. In the centre. Brayshaw on a wing. Petracca on the bench -

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final

Nice one. DD . Highlighted above was my first thought to the " Spargo being bullied " angle. This team isn't the 2000 GF team. Contested possession leaders. Geelong are the ones who should be worried. the elim. final is mandatory for Spargo's development and last week again cool under pressure and personally set up 2 important goals during the game. -
36 points or more gets cats % above dees.
-
It will be a Night game and fly out option is not on due to airport curfew. Need to stay unless driving back.
-
Exactly. No if and buts, the GWS game winner gets 5th spot and home final. Huge upside if Dees get up. Keep going hard, maybe excepting Hibberd who is mandatory for first final. No other changes after yesterdays heroics. Having seen Garlett against the swans he's done for the year if Goodwin is consistent. Spargo stays in for the experience and Tyson is a lock. He's been great on the inside - set up first goal yesterday.

Only if north lose today. I saw port live at the G yesterday and very underwhelming. Absolutely will be gob smacked if not taken down by bombers next friday.

Thanks for the comparison TGR with Fraser Anning mate - as an practising member of the Jewish faith i really appreciate the analogy with a white supremacist. Why on earth was this insult deemed suitable by you ? Moron!

Not quite what i was typing in my post simultaneously as you 1554. Similar drift though.....

This stat is a week old and not his own work. It does not address goodwins key premise either. Media commentators only survive on oxygen and attention or they risk irrelevacy. I've only got 2 words for you Terry- Rodney grinter.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 22
Demon17 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I suspect the stars will align and am planning the options for week 1 finals attendance. Likely to be Dees Vs either Swans in Sydney or Hawks at the G. Champion Data also forecast, and have included loss of Hogan etc. Although round 23 last year hurts, I firmly believe the Crows tanked by resting players and shut up shop - nothing to lose by trying too hard in Perth. Hence their karma this year too? The opposite is true for the Bombers next week against Port. Port are shot and the bombers have a lot to prove, including players playing for their careers. So the circumstance are very different. We just need the Tiges to get the job done tomorrow night first. -
Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 22

That's assuming the Pies beat power, and tiges beat bombers tomorrow and Saturday - then we can sweat the final game in comfort. -
Any way to get finals experience into Oliver, Brayshaw, Gawn etc is worth while no matter how it plays out. And based on narrow losses recently to Port and Cats I am a believer that a first final in Melbourne from 8th is winnable ( if Viney is back would help ). In the absence of a home game this weekend I WILL be attending the Pies/Port game and I WILL be cheering the home team - and closely monitoring Jack Watts efforts just for interest.
