Iv'e always thought a Pies QF at the G is our best path to the prelim. The a home prelom also. On balace 4th is probably the spot we deserve, but we are coming into form and mainly healthy so hold no fears for any team against us at the G. Win tomorrow and rest a few against the swans then prime THE QF.

Brilliant. Most of your post will come true imo

Maysie played a straight bat as he was instructed to do. As quoted by Gus at his presser as a club direction. So straight bat also by him but he summarised saying "...everyone thought it was a goal..."

My pleasure. Its what it says about the AFL's appraoch and treating of fans contempuosly that annoys me. We'll get the Blues next time, as we technically did last Saturday and last year. My contact was inundated with calls like mine from others to understand the issue.

This thread is full of uninformed conjecture. The facts as described to me by an experience and mulit- AFL Grand Final goal umpire is that the goal umpire was WRONG in his thought process as umpires are trained. He did not adjuducate to his training for this example. 1. First, the umpire must decide if the gball went tthrough the goals, and if so was there a deviation? 2. In this case there was not. 3. The Umpire should then have called a goal , but if unsure of touch, call review for a touch. 4. No initai evidence of deviation, which was the case here, means his decsiosn must have been a goal, with a check. That would have shown no deveiastion , thus a goal stands. 5. Gerard Whaelty talked about "..scoreboard integrity.." No such thing in the process and is a party-line approach. Poor umpirring cost Tiges a final last year (that goal umpire had only 11 games AFL senior experinece) and Dees a possible top 2. And the AFL calls itself professional. The Umpire should be stood down, as his approach was that he clearly reacted to Caleb Marchbank's touch claim. Not the facts of the situation.

I had same problem so I reversed the conversation and asked them the difference between trac and cripps. They took the bait and asked "what" A Norm Smith medal I replied. Silence ensued.

Agree now that tomlinson did OK today. He was always stiff to be dropped in the first place. It's now too late on Kingys Premiership runway to try anything new. Tomlinson to 4rd tall defender. Smith forward. Grundy out and small in. Who that for others to nominate. Hibberd in anywhere. Jordan out . Not to return.
-
Totally agree. He has to come in for the system alone. And he can take a grab. He'll give it his best as well

Jason Taylor said at Trade time that's why he selected Schache. He was the break-glass option if Max went down as makeshift ruck

And after last night top spot is out for the Dee's. 2nd or 4th will do me fine

You got that right Redleg. Fagan is suss IMO. Giving Lachie Neale votes in Final round last year in an attempt to beat Clarry to coaches award was equivalent to ball tampring I reckon by him.
-
10 players carried injusries into the Lions final for us. Fagan's comment simply confirms how damaged we were _Petracca playing with a hairline for example - and that Lions simply found out by a far superior team in Prelim .

Why is rohan being subbed off?

Just spotted daisy Pearce in the cats huddle sporting the dark blue cats tracksuit. What a star she is.

Another good way to track this.

Standby for weeks of speculation now on Darcy's hammy. Clarry says hello. But we won't hear the negative tripe from Damo like he did with us. Can't upset Eddie
-
Correct. As an example, if we kick 100 points tomorrow , we need to keep the Blues to 75 points, or less to mainatin or increase %. Beating the Blues by a goal or two drops our %. Not by a lot but thats the effect.

Sure will and thanks

This item on the AFL website today analyses the stats on the midfield roles without Clarrie. Fascinating especially the Brayshaw changes. But no mention of the Viney engine room which was dissappointing. , but focusses more on the midfield members and their step up. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1003964/oliver-twist-shock-stats-show-how-dees-lifted-without-clarry

Dangerfield Approached to Join AFL Commission
Demon17 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
My point was Danger is barely ,if at all , qualified to join the Board of a Billion dollar outfit like the AFL. Your point though is way more pertinent and not so far of the mark IMO re; Goyder. -
Many thanks, your post has improved my confidence , but I never understand betting odds. I understand statistics and probability. So where does the 28.6% come from? That sounds less than ideal?

Dangerfield Approached to Join AFL Commission

You've addressed my other concerns. Danger strikes me as a party line type of guy. Just what a Board doesn't need. -
Dangerfield Approached to Join AFL Commission

Nailed it. This is a Board appointment. Not operations where he could contribute. It's a Gil thought bubble and disrespectful to Tom Harley and many others. The Commission has an apalling record in filling vacancies in a timely manner. -
No news and it's nearly midday Tuesday. I am an optimist and wonder if it was clearly season ending that news would be out yesterday.
