  1. But it's true. After losing tonight the Pies beat tomorrow's winner and bingo he's back in two weeks. He showed glimpses of churlishness this year. Like most coaches he's. Friendly and amusing till it all goes south.
  2. For sure looking at the radar now, and importantly in time to make a smart decision about the sub and/or final team
  3. 5.30 or 4.30 for mcc
  4. Did Goody say anything about ours, and if not is Tomlinson a chance subject to weather??
  5. Interesting The Age is reporting now Ginnivan is sub. I thought that was an hour before the game. Would this be correct??
  6. Just saw the Pies team. Much kudos to McCrae not playing favourites and picking on form - e.g Lipinski, Markov, and saying to Ginnivan, even if the sub, your'e not quite rehabilitated yet mate. I'd query one0trick pont Howe lining up forward. No hangers will be taken tomorrow . So what does Howe offer.?
  7. Agree. If Cox and Cameron are in the 22, therein lies our bigeest problem, unless it buckets down
  8. and 18 with Flag experinece, and the others have proven themselves under heat e.g Judd McVee. Joel Smith and Chandler.
  9. Additons from the KB line up are McDonald, Oliver and Bowey. Not too shabby ins I reckon. And Petty and Melk. didn;t play that day either. I can live with this being about the best we can offer right now
  10. Noble is an absolute favourite of Buckley. Seems like a dangerous line breaker. Oh well I guess Ginnivan gets preference.
  11. Plus in my mind we finished second. 4th spot due marchbank point . And poor umpiring. We're a bona fide 2nd in quality.
  12. Max has been successfully, and unfairly targetted in the past and its been effective. Hinkley implemented using 2 rucks several years ago. If a pies ruck is sub, then surely Mcrae's plan must be to bring on fresh legs against max say late in 3rd 1/4. I think Max can easily cope fitness wise against 2 second raters, but its the buffetting I fear. In Goody I trust though.
  13. Post of the day. Thanks
  14. No way will the tactical sub be a bona fide ruckman. Completely limits the required tactical options . That's why Joel Smith is so good. 100% versatility
  15. Hard to say. But Gillard said last night that there was huge love inside afl mgt ranks for kiss. He named one and it may have been Dillon but can't remember. Do the afl execs think they no anything at all about pre game entertainment. History suggests not. Except for Barnsey's huge show in 2028
  16. B: Harrison Wigg (SA) Ed Vickers-Willis (VM) Josh McGuinness (Tas) HB: Darcy Tucker (VC) Caleb Marchbank (VC) Angus Brayshaw (VM) C: Paul Ahern (VM) Christian Petracca (VM) Billy Stretch (SA) HF: Callum Mills (NSW/ACT) Darcy Moore (VM) Rhys Mathieson (VC) F: Jayden Laverde (VM) Patrick McCartin (VC) Caleb Daniel (SA) Foll: Peter Wright (VM) Isaac Heeney (NSW/ACT) Jake Johansen (SA) Int: Jack Steele (NSW/ACT) Darcy Parish (VC) Ben Keays (Qld) Connor Blakely (WA) Coach: Jason Saddington (NSW/ACT), assistant Brenton Phillips (SA) Above is the AA Team from the 2014 Under 18 comp. Brayshaw at half back - like now, Trac (Larke medal winner) next to Darcy Moore. I looked at this after reading Braydon Maynard's interview this morning and noted also he played in the metro team and with Langdon and Brayshaw at Sandy Dragons. Fascinating, and how did THAT Caleb Marchbank get selected!? The point is watching how Maynard pushed Cox away from Dees players after KB game after Trac had gone after him over something, these players have long standing relationships. Interesting journeys by all.
  17. And no mention of THAT premiership lost opportunity. Don't tell me he doesn't lie awake at night regretting his loss.
  18. Another example of late middle aged white men re-living their past with a mediocre act that doesn't cut it vocally or in the daytime in an arena with no atmoshpere for this type of act. Will be poorly compared with Robbie Willams efforts last year. Just an annual joke. I'll be downstaris buying a pie.
  19. I assume you're referring to Scotty's comment about being a pies crowd as in a home game. If so Scott's degree in rocket science must still be in the mail. From the University of Damoa I guess. Like Saul's law degree.
  20. Notice the elephant in the room studiously avoided. "So jeremy, how did it feel when your ex-teammates won the GF of the century" Don't tell me it doesn't sting.
  21. They can't go with Cameron by himself. Not good enough form to negate Gawn. His KB form will suit us fine.
  22. My Pies tragic friend this morning says they can't see us being beaten because of our midfield and how we can deny them the ball. Exactly how they lost KB. He's very pessimistic on their mids and Daicos out with a few back, including underwhelming McStay won't make much difference. I left the cathc up rather bullish.
  23. Absolutely Garbo. We move on Grundy if and when we have a PLan B for Max backup, otherwise we lose our once-in-a-generation midfield opportunity. JT may be working on this aspect. Football is a business, as Grundy himself noted. We are not duty-bound to get him a game elsewhere unless it is detrimental to the clubs internal culture and he needs to move on. If it was to be dry (and probably not) I could see Grundy playing this week.
  24. Maybe we get in their heads game time. As Scott Pendlebury said in today's Age, time is running out for getting a flag given his age, and that of Howe amongst others. Pies lose to us this week and that's it for them. No way do they beat the Lions in a PF in Brisbane. Maybe try again next year Jeremy.
  25. I wartched the last half of KB yesterday afternoon. I advise everyone who doubts us to do the same. What struck me was how useless Cameron was in the ruck, how Cox - despite the knees up approach -could no way keep up with Max. AND the valuable contribution Grundy made that day, both rucking and around the ground. If he's in next week I won't be too upset.
