  1. I am not watching bruise free footy
  2. Where is the proof of a mass exodus of players, and which players? If Neeld really has lost the team to the point that the players are going to leave you'd think there would be a bit more evidence. I get scared when I read all these posts about players leaving, but then I searched for anything that resembled facts, nothing, it's like the WMD in Iraq they didn't exist. We are playing exactly like I expected, a bunch of kids, this will change. I realize I'm a minority opinion, thanks for not being nasty about it.
  3. Anyone remember Carlton, Pagan etc, the players, like DH Fevola, ran the show and buried a established coach, and several others. Yes we have gone backwards while we reset who our senior players are, they were good, had some skill but perhaps they were better soldiers than leaders, that said the shafting of Junior was a huge mistake, of the players that were changed. Moloney and Green I loved as players of the club but we weren't breaking down the doors of the top 8. Yes we have two young captains but the basis has been set that we will be fitter, we are talking footballers here, one skill set at a time, talking of the coach and whether he has lost the playing group is just stupid when we wanted a culture change and our now getting it. Take your effing medicine and stop believing in the snake oil quick fix BS that changing Neeld would be.
  4. Depends on doping, a few teams (us included) might yet lose points much higher odd of that than a plane crash
  5. So he's not everything, can live with that with that sort of courage, he'll make other blokes nervous, we need hard at the ball more than anything, even if only to teach others how to do it.
  6. That was awesome, Moses parting the Red Sea. Those arms pushing out.
  7. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Couldn't agree more, just not sure if the quote is aimed at the press, or some of the more timid souls on the forum??? Journalists seem also to believe that they should be part of the story, I swear they seem more interested in generating scalps than telling stories. Edit, meant to go under Ron's post.
  8. She did the right thing, the boundary ump stuffed it up. Some days there will be three reviews, some days none, it was literally between her legs, just caught out nothing wrong with that doesn't happen often .
  9. Actually if we could resurrect the dead, I could think of some more useful things to do with them than write, probably start with the midfield.
  10. Burgundy, you idiot, dolts of any description is far to kind (kidding) More and more i think Carl Ditterich was ahead of his time and an insightful media commentator, I always chuckle when I see the tag line. Reading most analysis now is utter over packaged garbage. I have watched when we were kings maybe 6-8 times, I can't imagine wanting to listen to anything CW or MS says in the first place. if we could clone Martin Flanagan that would help, get Percy Beams and Ivor Warne-Smith out of their graves and get them to write some analysis on the club and tell everyone else to eff off.
  11. So have calmed down a bit, anyone want to retract there per year comments that Davey is done? Very critical sub for us today, took a few minutes to find the ball but his goals came when the game was in the balance, he still has plenty to offer.
  12. Where did this little fella Evans come from, full credit to the team they kicked some tough goals before they got on a roll.
  13. The umpires like neeld, but jeez it's good to see red and blue kick goals, I paid 130 used to watch this game on the afl international channel, (for the season) friggin happy. Howe and Gawn, Jones, grimes and trengove, god bless
  14. The problem is not the effing logo, whether we're toffs or bogans (I love the SC and refuse to surrender it to bogans). Our brand is dominant if we win games of footy. I dream of the day 50,000 chant (a'la Marshal) WE ARE MELBOURNE. Step 1: stand united. Step 2: give the coach the season to see if he can get the players going as a team (tackles, smothers, shepherds). Step 3: build strong, quick fix's never work. Step 4: fixing our culture requires a no d!<£ head policy, that does not mean toffs. Anyone who is serious about changing the coach, go to training and see for yourself if the players are getting it or not, spare me your crap opinions on message boards.
  15. they are all on twitter, go for it
  16. Oh my god, cannot believe it, the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, who would've thought? Wines v Toumpas to early to call. I really feel the club is blessed with an exceptional number of masochists as supporters. And truth be told if you are a masochist why would you support any other club? Anyway I bleed for the day our self flagellators feel a need to follow Collingwood.
  17. When Harold went swimming, did he reach this island? But seriously and to bring the thread back on topic, well done to everyone who made the paddock.
  18. Has anyone else noticed how much the videos coming out of the club have improved. Whoever is doing their post-production/editing is really on their game. As far as I'm concerned 'they look just like a bought one'. So whoever you are I reckon your doing a good job and it really helps with the club's presentation. edit: I believe it's Jack McCowan - I particularly liked the piece on Ivor Warne-Smith for the Legend induction.
  19. Is anyone else going blue from holding their breath? I'm still worried we have some blokes who did the same crap. However does anyone remember when Hird came back after a year off and looked like the Incredible Hulk? Anyway at least we get the 4pts back or are they just not awarded?
  20. Tim Holding... former Police Minister? whose bright idea was that university degrees make for honest cops... no thanks, seen his management first hand, didn't like it. His particular style of politics has left him with limited personal credibility. Integrity first and foremost, ability to build consensus style of leadership, a sound business mind (but a good financial officer can help with that), able to listen, then able to talk. As soon as I can think of someone I'll post, personally I am not interested in the cult of celebrity so a proven media star is last on my list just being able to talk without sounding like a nong. Edit: I reread this and I sound too harsh on Tim and apologize, after all I am a dirty leftie ALP voter so I would still vote for the bloke but I just don't think a politician is the right way to go for the club, as his politics would divide the supporters. I think Hawthorn succeeded despite Jeff not because of him (but I have blinkers there as well.)
  21. Some 'Antipathy', you could measure it in gigatons, likewise Hassa, an excellent bloke but disastrous judgement endorsing the merger, no way should anyone of that crew ever ever come back, they made it clear they did not have the answers or the qualities for the job. Treat them with respect, no personal insults as they did what they thought was right but just not the right vision to manage the club.
  22. Thanks Cameron, your dignity was a perfect example of what was needed at this time and I thank you for the grace and respect you showed the Melbourne Football Club.
