  1. I don't mind gawn out and fitz in. Both these players need to be developed ltogether. They are both long term prospects and need to be developed together. For this they don't need to play every game, this or next year
  2. concerning the culture issue. I believe more was lost culturally by what was done to clear the parish of what it didn't want than what the new influx of players was meant to address. Byrnes ridden etc will off little. As long term prospects Clark and daws will be good pederson gillies will be useless.
  3. Pity he's not a great competative mark. Reminds me to much of Miller. Works hard, good lead up forward. At least seems to be an accurate kick, certainoly better than Miller on that front.
  4. Strange that such an unfit team could win 8 games. Maybe fitness has never been the big issue we have been told it is
  5. You mean like I was with Liam Jurrah and Hulk Hogan? Lighten up
  6. Mark Neelds policy to go for experienced fringe players to shore up the list after dumping the light bodied young and hastening the departure of MFC senior players he didn't want. As a result we now have added 9 mature age recruits, ( Seller Roden, Terlich, Magner, Couch, Byrne, Gillies, Pederson, Matt Jones) Of these three have been acquisitions, Magner, Terlich and Matt Jones, that gives us 3 out of 9 ultimately worth it. (I have not included Byrne and Seller because I don't believe they will provide any value as we improve slightly) I understand most of these recruits have been given at lease 2 years. Is it true Pederson has been given 3 - Casey is going to do well out of this. The hidden problem I see here is that we are virtually working with a team list that is in effect 6 players short for two years at least. It will then take another two years at least to replace and develop new young recruits that may develop long and significant careers. The consequence, a list black hole of 6 for at least 4 years just to get back to where we could have been. You argue that I'm missing the cultural change in the club. Yes Neeld's purpose, but as a major policy for changing the culture of the, he has to be held accountable for the outcome. Some good trainers from good cultured clubs verses, denuding our own home grown experience and a culture of greatest losses in the clubs history, that's a defeatest attitude. I claim, it was a bold move that has becomes disastrous.
  7. I have great hopes for Fitzy, but I believe their is no need to rush him.
  8. Knowledge is gleaned in a couple of ways, one by gradually observation and analysis, the other by intuitive perception. One in not necessarily more accurate than the other. Some are better than one than the other. Two many have intuitively gleaned that we are a mess. Just print out for me another team of any era that has suffered such disastrous defeats in a row like we have. This is not just bad form, this is disaster. In my opinion the catch is that Neeld has done some good things, but they have distracted some from taking seriously the disastrous results of several poor decisions and the inability to coach beyond set structures. He lacks the essential intangible ingredient that the best coaches have.
  9. I gather you've just come into the game. You must have have a great midfield but not at the expense of good talls at either end. Frawly head and shoulders above our other modest tall backs. Have you noticed carlton have one of the best midfields buth without an elite set of backs or forwards struggles to make the 8. Fancy giving up Jamar and relying on Spencer.
  10. I suggest you pick one point and think it through. As an overall plan the irrelevant points cloud anything good you want to say. It's not as simple as you want it to be.

  12. By saying that we have watched some of the most despicable performances by a Melbourne team I can remember, was not showing disrespect to the players. Who is going to argue. Something is wrong and we are all giving opinions trying to pin point the problem. Something is wrong because they are not all VFL players. The players I listed are the better ones. I have never criticised the effort any demon player has put in. I have criticised team selection at times. But once a player comes off the field and talks to the media, goes on the website, then he is talking to me, and if he wants respect on my side of the fence then join the honest discussion of the supporter group. We are starting to get spin, which many people are reporting they are seeing through.
  13. As supporters we have been dealt some of the most despicable performances by our players for some 28 games. I can not recall a period of such despicable performances as the six games this year. I go because I support the red and blue. I do not stop following them. It is my club. This set of players are there for their probably short careers. Garland, Trengove, Grimes, Jones and now Dawes try to tell us that they are full of hope, they are behind the coach, they believe in the game plan. I am insulted by that spin. If they are not putting in the required effort then it is because they do not believe what they are saying. The club depends on integrity. In so many ways we are not getting it.
  14. A bees breathe from going the way of fitzroy......Schwarz. Listen . This is desperate time. You can prune a tree too much. And if that tree is already sick there is no way back. NOTE WE ARE TOTERING ON THE BRINK.
  15. Neeld has lost a number of players - info on good advice from player parent - and 90% of supporter base. We will not wait for his long term fingers crossed rebuild of the rebuild. It's all over. Just time for Jackson to see what the rest of us have come to see.
  16. I'm still hopeful but I see similarities with miller. Okay playing high up the ground with neiva and robot deep in goals, but once they went his deficiencies were to many. Notably inability to high mark. I fears Dawes is similar
  17. When you are down and almost out on the canvas, all you can see are stars. SS was a good b++ player who played some really good games. But wake up everybody we are losing perspective.
  18. So It's just taken a couple of years for the Gold Coast to pass the plummeting demons. The horrifying thought is when will Scully and his mob from GWS pass us before we splatter on the basement floor of the ladder. At the moment their percentage is better than ours. Did we get a fools reprieve those few weeks ago when after trailing all day we mustered up one herculean effort to snuff them out in the last quater. I fear that was a delaying of the inevitable ultimate bottoming out, which could come as early as Saturday 3rd August for the 1:45 game at Skoda Stadium. This demon team will be so shot with confidence that there will be no 12 goal last quarter to blind us to the fact we are the worst. This game will remain the one ultimate goal for the Giants this year. Beat Melbourne on the 3rd August and they will avoid the wooden spoon in their second year. Is this all a dream ?????
  19. Wasn't it Matthew who said,'if it bleeds it can be killed.' We are bleeding.......badly. Stop the bleeding or we will be dead by the end of the year.
  20. It's not a case of should the board go. Anybody is entitled to stand. It's up to someone who wants to get a team together to stand. Then they have to prove they are better. On the other hand the existing board has to then prove they are still the better team. Whether we discuss if they should go is irrelevant. Either a new team challenges or we have the same board. By moaning about the modest jetta not being picked lessons your judgement. Meta in or out will mean little to this team at present.
  21. On open mike David Schwarz stated that the players were not playing for the coach. Tonight mark need apparently declared that the press should focus on the players, not him. To me that is a declaration that he does not believe in his players. Some weeks ago mark McClure stated on 360 he believed mark neeld does not have the ability to relate to the players in an effective way ( or similar ). When belief has gone the end has come.
  22. I disagree. The dismal confidence of the team is bad and falling, every week will get worse with every demoralising loss, and we have some big games ahead of us. There is a point that the team will be Irrepairably broken and supporters apathetic. We must stop the rot and target the best experienced coach we can. Brisbane may be after a coach and we don't want to be beaten to the best. There may be others, eg west coast. Beyond sitting on our hands and hoping
  23. I don't watch many games, just the dees. See about 95% of them live. But couldn't help having an occasional look at cats bomb, hawks v swans, freeo pies this weekend. What a gap between our team and the top teams. Game plans are basic but they are not magic. I think it's about what game plan brings out the best of the team of players one has. Scott commented after the game that his approach was not to do anything to blunt the strengths of his players.
