It's not our young talent, it's the 3 to 5 year players they are not up to the job of making GF's let alone winning them. If I am wrong why are we 4th last on the ladder. The team in second last beat us by 9 goals. Can you explain why our results are so poor for the last 2 years.

PSD I have heard it all before for decades actually. We simply don't have enough quality. We have a lot of good players but far too many who are somewhat less. We are repeating 2024. Which followed 2 years of straight set exits from Finals. The trend since 2021 is down and accelerating in 2025. If not why are we losing to poor sides?

Good teams are made up of good players not some good and a lot of average players. Which is where we find ourselves.

Roost it you need to change glasses they current pink lens are doing you no good. A couple of that list will be very good, a couple good but sadly none will be Excellent. The best of them at present is Picket with his new contract playing good games every other week is over. The size of the new contract means you have to be “good “ 90% of games and very good the majority of those “good” games. I am yet to be convinced he is as consistent as that salary demands.

A very good question joeboy. The answer is as you allude to! The majority are average at best. Average players don't win games. Good and very good players win games, finals and flags.

If we are keeping Goodwin because we cannot afford to pay him out then we are doomed. So what happens if we don't pay him out? More of the same in the first half dozen games of next season and then the pain of not offering him a contract and after a loss in the KB game we fling him. Seems to me that he has to win the majority of games from this weekend on . Failure to do that and he is replaced. Let's not pour 2026 down the drain in the same way we have done in 2023 - 2025. There are some undeneinable facts. Since winning the premiership we have failed to appear in a gf since. Since 2021 we have slid down the ladder and now sit in the bottom 4 which is where we finished last year. Thank you for the flag in 2021 coach but it is now time for change both on and off the field. I would trade either or both of JVR / Jefferson. However Carlton would not do that deal.

Nothing will go ahead without state government money. They are broke. The MFC will end the decade at Casey / Goschs. End of story.

It is now almost July and still no agreement. Without state government money there is no chance that redevelopment will get the go ahead. The government is broke they cannot afford to fund hospitals properly so what chance a sporting facility. I also get the feeling that the racing club really doesn't want to share and are happy to go with the current position. I doubt we will ever train at the caulfield race course. Inspite of a new TV I find the Kayo picture to be the worst streaming product I use. The afl on kayo is terrible. At certain times last Saturday night it was unwatchable. I only have Kayo for Saturday afl matches. The strange thing is watching replays is much better and all non afl spirts are good.

After poor loses to the saints and Port I have lost interest in the 2025 season. My granddaughters playing basketball has been way more enjoyable. A Dee’s friend will be in SEQ this week, his answer to the question of whether he is going to the game was “why spoil my weekend” It appears to me that we have slid to the also rans group. Seriously short of quality players who can kick goals. The 2- 3 good years which include a premiership have come and gone. I guess it was good while it lasted.

Dd JVR has done very little this year, hardly even vfl standard. He goes out for Jefferson. You cannot keep playing someone because they are an average second ruck.

JVR better put in a good game tomorrow as his spot is up for grabs.

I have never seen White play but reports don't seem wonderful. We could be the only bidders.

Our finals campaign is over for this year so we need to find out if Jefferson and JVR will be in our future. Petty is the one that has to make way for them in the short term.
