We already have "a shot on goal" and the "De -fence" God deliver us or am I just getting old!
-
Lets not fall for this one. He is just trying to put the pressure on the Demons. He just wants his team to respond
-
Unfortunately "Demon Jack" I think you are probably correct. The up side is we seem to have a few to take their places, this time last year it would have been a tragedy.
-
Good question I wondered the same thing myself! It would also appear Grimes is getting nowhere fast.
-
Unless I am mistaken he has been out for two weeks and he was suposedly injured. If there are no injuries from Sunday! who do you drop? I think ever player in last weeks team deserves to be in Brisbane. We know he can play and he will be back however guys like Maric need to be given a few games. We need to know if he has what it takes. Having said that he will probably get dropped for Trengove!

MELBOURNE Jack Grimes (hamstring) - 2-3 weeks Jordie Gysberts (back) - 2-4 weeks Rhys Healey (hamstring) - test Danny Hughes (ankle) - 3-4 weeks John Meesen (foot) - season Brent Moloney (corked thigh) - test Michael Newton (quad) - 1 week Ricky Petterd (shoulder) - season Jake Spencer (back) - 2 weeks Grimes and Gysberts have been out for some time and it would appear a few weeks to go. They are obviously a lot worse than I thought. This list suggests to me that there is probaly only one possible change this week ( unless there are injuries that we have not heard about ). I think Trengrove will come back via Casey, that leaves only Mcdonld as a possible inclusion. My guess NO CHANGE!

Developed into what?

Who the hell would buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are being a little harsh, until injured he was among our top 10 most weeeks, a little experience is still what we need, one good win does not make us world beaters.
-
I thought he was past it! I thought injury had robbed him of his chance and would struggle. However He proved me wrong in a big way. I thought he was great today did everthing asked of him. As long as he can stay on the park he is in our best 25 players.
-
I am not a fan BUT He should stay in, he was probably scared of making a mistake as he knows his career is on the line. Give him another go next week, I think he did enough to get another chance. Now is the time to find out if he has it at senior level, after all we are not playing for the premiership!
-
I doubt there will be any changes, First, with the exception of Moloney ( no guarntee he will be ok )the returning injured have been out for multipule weeks and I think they will be returned via Casey. Second with the form of yesterday's team who do you drop? they all deserve their spots I thought Maric was our worst player but he was not bad and deserves another week. Unless there is an injury we do not know about I think the same lot go Brisbane.

Mckenzie and Bail prove that there are very good players in the higher numbers come draft day. Simply because GC get a lot of the early picks this year does not mean we cannot find good players in the higher picks. I think our recuirtment department has done very well with our higher picks. When you have Pick 1 and 2 I reckon I could get it right but when you get a lot higher it takes real skill. Good work Guys!

Perhaps they are unsure he is 100% and think he might breakdown! Better to come back via Casey to get some touch and if he breaks down it will not penalsie the senior side.

I have not been a big fan and I am not ashamed to say so. All along I have said "I hope I am wrong". My biggest complaint was that he should have played longer at Casey however that is now history and I will admit he has improved the last three weeks and probably now deserves his place in the team. As to the queation of him or NN I do not know as I rarely see NN and take the opinion of other commentators. It does appear to me that at least Jack knows what to do were as NN seems to be lost quite often. You are right when Jack kicks 50 goals in a season I will love him!

Could not agree more "Yeats08" I hope they can play because the Jumper and song are crap.

Unfortuately very true Dappa Dan! Hope he gets 3 min. we need all the help we can get.
-
Thank you Dappa Dan you have hit it for me. There is only one thing that matters " winning" All the rest is just prattle. We have 5.5 wins from 16 games that is our postion no more no less. Just not good enough! This time next year it needs to be 10 wins from 16.
-
I think you are fairly close with 1 - 3, assuming we prgress with 1 - 3 we are proberly not going to know with 4 till this time next year, It may well determine if DB keeps his job!
-
I hope you are right however over the last 46 years I have thought that a few times and come up with nothing. Potential is one thing doing it is another! You know what I want the most??????????? to be hated by the other 15 clubs because we are so good I have been pitied for long enough. Carn the Dees!

Most games of sport are fairly simple. The team in front at the end wins! To get to that point it is usually the team that plays the better for the majority of the game that wins. This year Melbourne have played a number of games were we started poorly and usually lost. If you look at the games were we have "almost won" we have usually had one and a bit good quarters. That does not win games on a consistant basis. Until we get good starts we are destined to stay a team in 11th. spot.
-
The 3 that cost us the game were the 15 that did not come to play until half time. The one of the players I would drop is Bate. I may be a little critical of Bate but at best he is a average half forward. The reason he will never be more than that is he has only one side to his game. i.e. the left side, everyone knows he will come back to kick with his left foot. You just dwell on that and you have him half beaten. I think it is time he had a spell at Casey.
-
I have seen him twice this year one occasion was the slaughter at Williamstown. In that game he was one of the few things that gave me any joy. I think the kid is a goer. He looks better to me in his first year at Casey than Watts did. So take that for what it is worth. Is the glass half full or half empty? In this case I think it is definately Half full!

Sorry for being over sensitive "Destroy All" Fortunately we have very serious folk like you to bring me back to earth.
