  1. That seems to work for everyone except Eagles thay are not getting much
  2. You have my vote BB
  3. Mac7 this is serious depression. There will be more than that many Eagles. Try a good bottle of red that should help!
  4. I doubt we had more than 10 000 at the G last saturday, where I was we did not have 25% of the crowd. I cannot see more than that at the house of pain where most of us have to pay to get in. But what is your guess?
  5. HT there is another thread for the Eagles game.
  6. After winning last week I am on a roll but I reckon you are close to the mark 13890. I reckon there are 5000 Eagles fans visiting and living in melbourne. Everyone of them will be smelling an easy win and will turn up. That leaves the Dees with 8890. Seems a lot but I will stick to my number.
  7. Well I do not like to crow guys but guess who was closest to the pin. Yes me 42 000 and the number was 42 342 Small victory!
  8. no that was swine flu
  9. For GWS's sake I hope they don't play at Geelong next year. Then again we may get removed from record books as the highest loosing side. Wonder what his comment will be then!
  10. Agree 100% I am of a similar vintage and while I am down at present I to have little faith in any thing different happening.
  11. What about Sylvia, Davey, Bate and Jones!
  12. even though he has only played one senior game back from a long term injury at Casey I would be tempted to play Fitzpatrick. Saw him a bit last year and a couple of times before he got injured. Shows a lot of promise but it may be 1 week early.
  13. BB everyone see's things differently. Just look at Demonland, some think a certain player is a champion and others think the same player is a dud. IMO Sylvia should stay at Casey another week but he will probably return. I have wanted to play Warnock for the last month but he stays at Casey. Just depends on your view I guess.
  14. Hi robbie hope you are well this morning! I agree with your basic theme above however I think you are being a little hard on Scully. He has played very little this year and I am prepared to cut him a little slack at present. I think he is short of match experience at present, his hand balling on saturday was terrible but at least he got the ball. Another 4 games will improve that I am sure. However IMO he has not yet delivered No.1 pick results. The stupidy of the GWS situation means he is getting offered way above what his value after 2 years. He will have played 1.3 seasons for IMO modest returns. Hope he stays but I will not go to the wailing wall if he leaves.
  15. Thanks AoB. who would you promote for next weeks game?
  16. What would you do?
  17. so you are giving no credance to the "we need an experienced senior coach" idea? Not a critism just a question. My problem is all the potential/ available Experienced coachs do little for me but I think we do need someone with experience. It seems to me that Williams and Laidley want the job however I am not excited by either.
  18. thanks mate I have not been a big fan However his fall from grace has been amazing. He has the ability to do well at VFL level and should be doing just that. What the hell is going on with him?
  19. agree with that 100% His decision make was poor yesterday. However I am prepared to cut him some slack. He has played so little this year I think he is serious short of game time.
  20. My view is Sylvia is on very thin ice. However I probably agree with you. Play him till the end of the year if there is not a dramatic improvement. Then trade him for as high a draft pick as we can get.
  21. Agree with your last paragraph, IMO it is not the kids who are letting us down it is the seniors. Our problem is how the hell do we get the kids up to speed if they are in sides getting belted every week. We need a couple of seasoned players to hold the line while the kids develop. Cannot see that happening while the likes of Green, Davey, Sylvia, Jones and company put in poor performances every week.
  22. He is 100% correct and it will be worse next year. I was having dinner with 2 keen Pie members last night. I asked why the game was not on. Answer "it will be a hiding not much interest we are gearing up for next Friday night" I asked if the game was in Melbourne would you have gone? Probably not, cold out tonight and would rather have a few reds with dinner here". Says it all for me
  23. Agree WYL the day the Dees are in the second tier is the day I stop going. we might as well join the VAFA
  24. I would say keep playing him. He has played very little this year and is serious short of game time. Yesterday he got the ball but seem to want to hand pass to someone under the pump with the resulting turn over. Game time will get him better. He is good but not worth the supposed money being offered to him in 2011. 2014 may be a different story. Keep playing him, make him a good offer and if he chooses to go so be it He is only one person.
  25. Well I have intentional stayed off the site for 24 hours and as a result missed the thread on yesterdays game. Just for a change I decided to wait 24 hours. So this tread seems the most likely to give my view. I was not at the Geelong game ( thank God) Yesterday I think I saw a team that came out with a lot better attitude than the week before. If we had kicked better in the first quarter we could have easily gone into the first break in front. IMO 75% of the reason we got beaten yesterday was JUDD. He got Carlton out of trouble so often it was hard to believe. As the game wore on and our fitnes began to wane the result became a white wash. Once again it was the more experienced players that let us down. Green, Davey, Jones, Maloney, Bate, Petterd The younger brigade played well Trengrove, Frawley ( under constant bombadment ), Strauss ( until taken out )Watts, Mckenzie all tried hard all day. At this point in 2011 I believe we are a team suffering from poor morale and a serious lack of confidence. Constant queries about is Scully going and off field fighting has taken its toll. Our magnificent leader is struggling in his fight for life. We have sacked our coach with 5 games to go after a terrible thrashing at Geelong Our average performance is not a patch on last year. We have the chance in the last three games to get some confidence back Hopefully over the summer with a new coach and some resolution to the off field problems we can rejuvernate the spirt of 2010 and with players older we can have a better season. But for me this year cannot finish quickly enough I am exhausted by 10+ goal losses.
