You can make anything you like of stats but here is an interesting one. how many games have we lost by 9+ goals over the last 4 year. Below is the result from my investigation 2008 7 2009 6 2010 2 2011 7 with 4 games to go. So this year we are equal to our bottom out year and we still have 4 games to go, sunday could easily add another. looks stark against last year. What it clearly says to me is that we have gone backwards in a big way. To have as bad a year as 2008 is amazing. Any thoughts?

Yes we have had enough 10+ goal losses this year. I have been meaning to check how many we had in 2008 and 2009. My gut tells me less than this year which is amazing if true. How is life in WA it would be easier to hide over there than here i guess!

My point is that we are playing poorly this year and it is mainly the fault of the more experienced players of which Sylvia is one. Green, Bate, Sylvia,Davey, moloney and Dunn. These guys are letting us down badly, they should be taking more of the load while our younger players get experience and improve. Instead we have the situation where our young guys are trying to compensate for these guys. Why is that Trengove, Watts, Mckenie and Martin are probably leading the B&F. At years end it is going to be embarrassing when our captain is not in the top ten! I like a lot of other demon members are tired of the excuses that the older players are given. Sylvia is probably unlucky that his contract is up for renewal. If Green / Davey were in the same position I would be expecting a reduction. I am not expecting a reduction from Sylvia but I object to paying a large increase on the basis of his ordinary performance over his current contract period. The sermon is now over.

Where did I say he should be dropped. I am saying his best is behind him. Unfortunately he is better than quite a few others and should be played the remainder of the season. We are talking about the future. And that does not look great in my opinion.

RR Davey has a long history of injurys that he takes a long time to get over. he missed 10 weeks this year, from memory the last 8 of 2010. He has not had a good year since 2009. I know he is 28 but that is 29 next year and some guys are finished at 30 through injury. I just do not think it looks good for Davey from here in, our best option IMO is if he plays a forward role. I think his days as a mid field player are behind him.

he was rubbish before he got injured, in fact he has been nothing much ofthe last couple of years since teams worked out a close check takes him out of the game. When was his last game breaker game? when did lhe ast run down any one in a defensive action. even his great kicking has deserted him.

Here is my call Davey at the end of his career, trade if we could get something reasonable. Is only going to be a bit player in the future, small forward at best from here. Jurrah never thought he would be the prime forward, can still be very damaging from a half forward role. Bennell not up to AFL standard, I think his contract is up???? Jetta could still make it worth more time. Wonnameri, Think he is just below AFL standard however injuries and other distractions are probably going to mean he does not make it. would not surprise me if he packed it in before the end of 2011. Where was he last week? did not play in either Casey sides. The club said he was "feeling a bit off" after the Geelong game.Really cannot see him coming back just don't think his heart is in it.Contract is up? adc you forgot Lawerence, He is very young but has started to show something at Casey looks to have a future. this whole idea is a load of crap. Collingwood would be on top if they did there summer training at Philip Island. They have a team of very good players it is IMO that simple. THe cats did not go to Arizona and it does not seem to be worrying them so far.

Yes I suppose we did at least start well but the usual happened. I think we are so lacking in confidence and our senior players playing so poorly that nothing will get us up this year. I am confident that a large number of the team now believe they are not good enough. So the result bares out their expectations. I have no idea how you change that before the start of 2012. hopefully a new coach and assistants might get it done.
