I may have missed it but what evidence is there that Thompsom wants to coach again? I have so far seen nothing. Can someone enlighten me please with a fact.

The actions of RL last night leave me a little perplexed. Why would you say a 23 year old was retiring? let alone make comments that players are to retire before they are told? He dumpted Ball after the 2009 GF and he went on to be instrumental in the pies winning last year. I am beginning to wonder about Mr. Lyon. Is he as wonderful as he is portrayed? Looks even worse than the way Jnr was flung last year

I agree doubt there is a spot at Carlton this side of 2014. Ratten will get a 2 year extension.

A small thought in 2009 Knights got the bombers into an elimination final and they got belted. From that point on he was on borrowed time at the Bombers, he could not coach was the cry. Well a certain Mr. Hird has just accomplished the same feat with a very similar team in 2011. Wonder when he will start to get the blame. Obviously cannot coach!

Add the Geelong v Hawthorn game to that list Redleg and you have my list of my games from the weekend. The overpowering feeling I had was that we have a very long way to go. The winners from the matches I saw were all top four sides and we are 13th. That about covers it. Over the last week I have become a little philosophical. I am used to my team being in this position in September. Will he stay or go? Another new coach to be appointed but who? Who will be given the DCM? Which skinny kid will we draft? Will the Admin. gets its act together? Yep sounds like most Septembers at the MFC. I don't like it but what can I do about it? Bugger all really! So just one short wish. "Please let it be different in 2012" And what's running this week? Did you get the banana smoothie?

Half way through the 3rd quarter I went out and cleaned the car. It was like watching the dees all over again. Too many hand passes why won't they kick the bloody ball. I am sure it is called "Football". I watched the game last night and thought we are so far away from that level it makes you weep. Thank god it has now finished for 2011.

Dee-eee there are a lot on here that would give you an agrument on that one. I try not to let my dislike of somethings ( like collingwood ) get in the road of acknowleging a good result. Take Collingwood in the time Eddy has been in control they have gone from a loss making concern to a power house. Won the flag last year and will give it a shake this year. Except for the fact there a million of them and they drive me crazy I would be very happy for the MFC to emulate them. Lots on here hate Eddie because he stands up for the pies and everything they do even when they are in the wrong. Hell That is his job, pity we did have an Eddie around in the 10 years before Jim had to take the mantle.

Thank you Redleg and unfortunately no not much happening. There is a benefit however I do feel calm for the first time in 6 months!

I do not think they are, I know numerous Passionate Collingwood supporters who are not members. e.g. my wife She is gave up her membership a couple of years ago because it was too hard to go. i.e. games are always crowded, hard to get a reasonable seat, bad language, drunks, getting home from night games etc. However she watches every game on TV, still buys scarfs, team photos etc. In contrast the only MFC supporters I know are members ( well a couple who drop in and out ) The whole purpose of this info is to show that when you are selling AFl gear a store will know to order 100 Collingwood jumpers and 5 melbourne ones. The Westpac Banks Knows 1 miilion supporters will notice that they are supporting their team I think it is spot on. How many non Member Melbourne members do you know?

You give me far too much credit "Goag" It is a fairly big Boat and I doubt my jumping up and down will worry to many. But if 5000 jumped up and down who know what would get wet! At the end of the day I just want the MFC up in the top 25%. I doubt there are many on here who do not want the same thing. I think we all support the same team. Go Dees

Hang in there DW you will live long enough I am sure. There are times when I doubt I will make it but life goes on. I constantly need to remind myself it is only a game. But as my wife says "you seem to spend a hell of a lot of your life on something that is only a game" But what would she know she is a magpie
