  1. There are a very large number of days wyl when I would be happy to ignore the samantics of that statement. Right now the "melbourne Hawks" looks fine. I also know a number of Fitzroy supporters who really enjoyed those weekends
  2. Yes me too FYD imagine all that celebrating we would have had to do at the end of September. What a way to spend the end of the month. I much prefer to have forgotten football four weeks earlier. Much more civilised!
  3. Well my eye sight must be worse than I thought WYL They look the same to me. However I have only memory to compare as I sent last years back advising them I only wear red and blue not maroon and blue. My wife things I am nuts and she may well be correct. Just had a nother look you may be right it is a bit better. Oh god I am really majoring in minors here. Just win games Dees the bloody scarf colour does not matter.
  4. aint that the truth
  5. Don't get too far ahead of yourself TT. "ever" is a very long time.
  6. Mate are we talking about the same scarf? Mine is Maroon not red it is the same colour as this years jumper. Not like the 2010 version which I am still wearing.

GNF I agree with a lot of what you say. However I do believe That the MFC appears to be the club of the "upper Class" of Victoria and lets acknowledge that the MFC sprang from those roots. The vast majority of non MFC supporters view the MFC as something from the 1850's to the 1960's They see us trying to cling to those origins when the world moved on 50 years ago. They see us as on "old Boys" club with little relevance in the 21st Century. The introduction of the "Blazer " promotes that image and as you say does nothing to help us win games. I think the "Blazer" potentially discourages potential supporters and members because they do not see it as something they wished to be aligned with in this age. While we continue to push this image large sections of the general population will have nothing to do with the MFC.

I don't know CBF it looks a lot like this years Player Blazer to me. I think it fits in perfectly with what the GP think of the MFC
  9. You have covered it well dpositive, very close to how I remember it. Your last line is my big concern, I fear that the MFC is at the cross roads over the next 3 - 4 years IMO anything less than winning the 70% of our matches by 2015 we see the MFC become an irrelevance in the AFL. We are not imune to being amalgamated with the GWS by the end of this decade if we keep on the way we have over the last 5 years. A decade of failure we be the end of us.

Not sure they even have the recruiting booth sorted out yet wyl. I guess you have to start somewhere but 2014 -5 looks like it might be the time for a battle cry. I hope our Trumpeter does not run out of spital over the next 55 games.
  11. When he broke his leg last year I thought well there goes 2012. He seems to have recovered well but I doubt we will see him in the seniors at all this year. And why risk him.
  12. Last seen in King street on tuesday morning. Only joking Jonesbag
  13. Speaking of not winning the them all I was reflecting this morning that next weekend could be the best of the season for Dees supporters. - We will not lose next weekend - No one will get injured - No one will get suspended - Morton will not play a bad game - Bennell will not play a bad game - sylvia will not get injured ( then again the bars are open ) - I will get to Sunday night in a good mood All in all a good 10 days are ahead. Thank god for the bye round
  14. Versus Bennell who has been gifted dozens of games for next to nil result. Give the kid a chance
  15. There is a very easy way to change this problem. Start winning games on a regular basis and the opposition supporters will not come within a mile of the area. On second thoughts better get onto the MFC that could be a while off.
  16. Agree stuie It mystifies me why you recruit a midfielder, promote him before the season starts, add one of our major problems is the midfield and then in spite of him showing good form at Casey every week do not play him in the seniors. Could he be worse than some playing at present? I agree why does he stay at Casey?
  17. I agree with you RB That is exactly what the MFC did during 2008 - 2011 And look what we have now Not to disimilar to the GCS!
  18. The score line would argue with you monoccular. I would agree have improved, we are not a shambles for entire games now
  19. With our luck they would leave behind the wrong half of the team.
  20. Some would suggest you have a firm grasp on the reality of our sitaution PaulRB. We have had one win, Our average losing score is 54.9 points ( ( 9 goals), we lost by 42 yesterday. The result is a couple of more wins if we play out of our skins. My best result is 4 for the season.
  21. Not if we win mate, at this point any win is the desired result
  22. I am surprised at you Redleg After all these years I would have thought you were used to it by now. Such is the lot of a dees supporter!
  23. I expect he is in the thirds so they can play him half a game to see how his leg holds up.
  24. I agree BB, it grieves me to say it but Carlton are bigger news than the Dees. If they lose badly tonight the MFC will struggle to get a line on any subject tomorrow in the HUN. Feel sorry for Ratten but there is sure to be a headline in the next few days like "Commitee tells Ratten he has their full confidence?"
  25. Great news that might sway a few others if they were in doubt. It is amazing what a different a week makes A week ago no wins and everyone were sad sacks. Now Beamer puts in a good game, we win against the ladder leader. Jamar signs up giving the "bird" to all the journos predicting he would leave. Now a Win on Monday that would make a great start to June for the Dees. Carn the DEES
