Well at least there is a bit more variety. The best news from next weekend will be when WCE beat the Pies . The knives will really be out then for Dawes and Cloke. 5 goals to Darling will probably get a fair airing as well!

I have stopped listening. Action on game day is all that interests me in 2013

Contract discussions put on hold for eleven Demons

I have been resisting doing a de list summery until the year is over however it is over for the dees I think the FD knows well and truely the quality of our list. I would suspect they have already marked the cards however here is my list for deletion for waht little it is worth. Green - retired Bate - been around for 7 seasons not good enough Bennell - hopeless Petterd - played a dozen good games in 6 years Moloney - poor year and 29 coming up, not going to get better. will probably leave us any way. Jetta - lots of injuries but I doubt he is AFL standard Davis- no games in 2 years when we are crap suggests he is not good enough Then there is Bartram how do you work him out? good player but knee situation means no idea till 2013 Davey and Morton are lucky they have contracts and they probably have little trade value so they stay. Gysberts and Cook get 1 year contracts to prove they are worth more in 2013, if they don't like that then trade them may not get much. I think 7 - 8 changes are likely The trick is to get 7 better players PS I forgot jurrah I think he is a bust find it difficult to see him surviving the "family Issues" these are and will continue to be more improtant than playing AFL. So that makes 8 - 9 changes Gee RR I am not far off your 10 changes -
I don't think I am as generous as you thaipantsman I will want to see a large improvement by the end of July2013 I am not expecting miracles from 2013 but If we are still producing the tripe of this year then my faith will have been reduced to zero.

You would think so However the way 2012 has played out I will be concerned until the result is known. At least the media is on about Essendon and Footscray this week.

We should amalgamate! -
Another 3 goals yesterday what a bum

That about sums it up RR Sad year when the joy is the improvement in 5 -6 players

Yes and you may have read elsewhere JCB I am now over LJ Too hard for me I am struggling to see any future value. Just a lot of hard work for nil return.
-
Yes Oucher it is I never put it out as anything else. I wrote "I was just putting a case as to why he may be unloved by the current FD." 99.9% of what is written on Demonland is speculation Without speculation there would be nothing on Demonland. Are you suggesting we only comment on things we know to be 100% correct? If so it will not take me long to read the threads in the future.
-
Yes You are correct, I did completely forget TM.

i have found it difficult to find any positives this year I can only find three - the continuing improvement of Howe - the continuing improvement of Jones - Clark justifying his selection I am Pinning my hopes on the fact that we have had a terrible run with injuries in the second half of the season and it is has been difficult to see some of our better players in action. I hope like hell that 2013 will allow us the have less injuries and our better players on the field more often.

So we cannot discuss both Don24? I was just making an observation on a possible scenario. Like you I have no idea what they think of him. He does seem to be slipping out of the frame at Casey, listed as an interchange player the last two weeks but it is interesting to discuss the possibilities don't you think?
-
May be Neita3000 I was just putting a case as to why he may be unloved by the current FD. I will be surprised if he is not offered another contract. I think the length of the offer will be interesting. Of course he may be pis--d off with the MFC and looking at alternatives as well

Rolly Cook's big problem is that almost all the people in the FD who had the hots for him when recruited are no longer around. I get the feeling he would not get recruited at 12 by the current FD. Even as a rake that was going to take some time he has produced very little at Casey. The Current FD may have very little affection for him, not their choice and he looks like taking every week of the next two years to come good. The current FD will not survive if the Dees do not improve substantially in the next 18 months so Cook will give them little in that time. They may feel that he is expendable as he will give them little in the time they have to put their case for continuing past 2014.
-
PJ I think like you we all want Cook to be good however I think in the above you are trying to convince yourself that all will be well with some not so accurate facts. Yes Hawkins has taken a long time and yes he is in a good team. But Hawkins was good enough to get games at AFL level in his first year, from memory he kick 4 goals against us in his first couple of games. Williams has come into the Casey side this year had a month of,f in a coma for 5 days and has managed to put in some good performances in spite of what you describe as "scrappy VFL to deal with as well as the Casey midfield and windy mud soaked grounds". I would add that Casey is at the top of the competition and their midfield players are as good as any in the VFL. Williams and Fitzpatrick have managed to look good with supply from the same team but Cook looks very ordinary. As I said we all want cook to be good but after two years it is not looking great.

What is the latest on Deskgate Biffen that seems to have slipped off the radar?
-
Just a small amount of stirring Redleg. I have been telling you for weeks we had third last locked in and nothing I have seen in the past month suggests otherwise. Based on yesterdays performance I reckon the last two games will be 10 goal losses.
-
Spot on Redleg IMO you are correct. We may not have been the best developers going round however it is a handy excuse when a selection bombs.
-
We are going to win this one Redleg I have a feeling in my bones

Why are the Roos doing so well at the moment?
old dee replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really easy they have a half decent list And almost no injuries -
Does anyone truly think after today we have a good list!
-
I think that the biggest problem with 3 of the 4 was they could not play. From my memory only Charles was any good and he had a bad injury and then complications. I thought he came from up the Murray way in Victoria but now I am guessing

Easily the best time of the year for a dees supporter. Between September and February we get new coaches, new facilities, new draftees all of whom are going to be world beaters and we cannot believe they slipped through to us. No one gets a serious injury and all last years injured are recovering well from their surgery and training the house down. And as you suggest Redleg we are yet to lose a game. Certainly the best time of the football year for me
