This is such a big game of opportunity for us. A win and we remain in the mix. Lose and we lose too much ground and settle in our usual bottom 4 position. Turnaround is a good word.

The way we are playing I can't see us turning around a game if we fall 4 or 5 goals behind. Most sides seem to be able of doing that irrespective of strength. In our two wins we were mostly front running against lacklustre opposition. In others once we fell behind it was game over.

We were 27 up at half time against GWS. They beat us by 45. 72 point turnaround. Would be 78 if we count the goal they got just before halftime. That was real bad.

The ovehelming signature characteristic of this season so far has been big momentum swings. No early big lead is safe. Somehow when being pumped we haven't been able to join the comeback party yet.

Not really comparable at early stages of their careers. Neitz made his name as one of the better key defenders. He did become the gorilla forward relatively late in his career. Hogan is starting where Neitz left off.

I don't think comparisons with Gridiron concussion statistics and the role of helmets is relevant to AFL. In that game the head and helmet is used as a battering weapon with considerable weight and force behind it. There were many deaths in Gridiron in the old days which forced the take up of helmets. In AFL more head injuries are caused by glancing blows and knocks which a helmet in most cases will be effective in offering protection.

I prefer if coming from behind he did the disciplined thing and punch the ball. I would prefer it more if he played in front and actually took a contested mark from there. Howe hasn't progressed much from schoolyard kick to kick.

We could do without having Howes cheap thrills. I am sure this is not the first occasion he has cleaned up a teammate.

That Lewis swing was so Rodney Grinter, the human clothes line. The only difference is Goldstein would have been carted off on a stretcher if Grinter delivered it.

What's amazing is he has improved not only on his strengths but also his deficiencies. Hard to fault any aspects of his game this season.

There is a trend these days that when a dominant side drops off during a game, the opposition(even pathetic ones) get a run on. Been happening all season. We buck the trend. There still is some serious leadership problems at the club. It's all mental attitude. Jones may be a great leader by example but he can't make horses drink. I am warming more and more every game at TMac as a future complete leader. It is an insult that he hasn't been formally recognised on this forum and still not on the banner whilst Grimes is still there.
