  1. The reality for Dawes is he has to earn his spot back or as an injury fill in. It would be a crime to drop Fitzy after his game today.
  2. Great win, very even performance and not left to TMac to fly the flag. Similar win to our previous two wins. We were able to press on after getting a good early lead. The real test for us is winning once we fall behind and have to fight back. That's when we fold pathetically once we get a couple of goals behind. Anyhow the season looks far more promising than this time last week.
  3. I saw him hand out a few big hits. Very effective and always competitive and dangerous.
  4. I hope Fitzy does well. He owes us. Another of our players who showed something before signing their current contract then nothing.
  5. Even the lowest life forms on earth, single cell bacteria have a nucleus.
  6. We are a really good chance to kick the first goal today.
  7. It appeared when Vlad was in charge, he wanted Essendon to take their punishment albeit with a soft landing and 6 month player suspensions probably served mostly in the off season and the removal of all the key instigators. It was clear he was no friend of Hird. It appears the opposite is now happening with Gil in charge. Seems to be doing everything he can to protect Hird and Co and continuing to raise the stakes.
  8. Probably hired by a relative.
  9. This is the perfect role for Mercedes Corby. May also wean her off bludging from her sisters misery.
  10. In many ways Dunn is a bigger disappointment than Howe. We have never seen Howe play to his full potential. Another Sylvia in the making. Dunn proved he can play. He was supposed to be a cornerstone of our stillborn revival which looked like happening mid last season. We can forget about that now. Trade him too. We can't be any worse at the moment without him.
  11. I am annoyed with Dunn's game. He was AA standard last season up until he signed a new contract. Since signing he has been average at best much like his previous seasons. These are the sort of senior players who will never get us off the bottom because it appears they are only motivated by money. Problem is we are stuck with them for now.
  12. Any of their starting midfielders expect Scully will do.
  13. If we ignore his high marking, everything else about him is VFL standard. His freakish skill has bought him a lot of time and plaudits but has had little efectiveness to his forward or backline play. One of the established players we are better off without along with Dunn, Watts and Grimes.
  14. Somehow I think this whole Toblerone war might end up like this.
  15. The things that's worries me is that there may be big bucks ready to protect the AFL's and Essendon's interests. I hope those who will be making the final decision are persons of true honour and integrity.
  16. I understand the skiing and après ski activities are great in Switzerland.
  17. Then they will determine "comfortable satisfaction" in German, French and Italian. I understand Switzerland is tri-lingual. The German will be barked out. The French will be mumbled out and the Italian will be with hand gestures.
  18. Gambling corruption and sport are two sides of the same coin. Any gambling pursuit not governed by pure chance is ripe for corruption. It happens in racing, cricket and in I am convinced in our game with all forms of spot betting going on. In the last game, the odds on us scoring the first two goals against Hawthorn would have been quite handsome. Hypothetically, if a few oppositon players were corrupt they could have been on it to ensure we scored first.
  19. PED's in sport is now one of those truths that dares not speak its name. I am convinced it at has happened at every club be it on an organisational or individual level to some degree. The Bombers have the dishonour of being overly ambitous and got caught out. Tanking or list management is another shameful truth. Interesting that the two clubs most strongly associated with "list management" are now floundering in what appears perpetual mediocrity. It took longer for Carlton to reach rock bottom but the chooks have come home to roost for both. Essendon's sin is getting caught out. Ours is trashing our soul.
  20. Sentiments similar to Essendon supporters I know.
  21. Supporting uber softcocks is infinitely more shameful and painful than gloating over others mistakes. We can feel it. Their supporters feel no shame.
  22. I am much the same, Essendon may be the biggest drug cheats in the game but they still come to play. We are the biggest softcocks in the history of the game. Which is more shameful?
  23. The problem with Dunn is; he left his then AA form behind almost exactly to the day after he signed his current contract. I liked this guy then and had a lot of patience over the years for him but he is another time waster that will keep us bottom feeding until he and his ilk are all gone.
  24. The dark reasons that forced Stefan Martin to leave are really starting to bite hard. Another awesome performance from him today. Johnathon Brown calling Martin most influential player and crediting for him setting up Brisbane's win against Port
