THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am much the same, Essendon may be the biggest drug cheats in the game but they still come to play. We are the biggest softcocks in the history of the game. Which is more shameful? -

The problem with Dunn is; he left his then AA form behind almost exactly to the day after he signed his current contract. I liked this guy then and had a lot of patience over the years for him but he is another time waster that will keep us bottom feeding until he and his ilk are all gone. -
The dark reasons that forced Stefan Martin to leave are really starting to bite hard. Another awesome performance from him today. Johnathon Brown calling Martin most influential player and crediting for him setting up Brisbane's win against Port

THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would not be surprised if his interview was scripted. An early shot in a long campaign to paint WADA/ASADA as cowardly, vindictive, un-democratic foreign meddlers and un-Australian as a causa belli for a possible AFL departure from the WADA code. All his words appear too well chosen. -

Fair dinkun, what a pathetic rabble we are. Players dropping themselves. Leaders capable of only leading themselves. Fringe players and other sides rejects flying the flag. Our most consistent and best player not in the leadership group. Highly paid duds playing like highy paid duds. Where is the team spirit and Elan? FMD I don't know. -
And he did put on the tackle that freed the ball from a hawks player that set up Garletts last goal.

Yes we can. He did drop himself, did he? Further, I hate to bag a new kid, but I hope Brayshaw learns to kick the effing thing. I Hope also he does not turn out to be another of our long list of disposal butchers. -
Might as well rest the whole side and forfeit the game.

In contrast to Adelaide/Saints game. Packed house and Saints doing real well.

When a player is omitted late for something vague and non specific like general soreness it makes me worried and/or suspicious.
-
Can blame our captain for most of that In stopages and congestion. Gets first touch often but his first instinct is to take and protect the ball and ride the tackle. Rarely a tap to advantage or quick disposal. One of the main reasons our midfield is mediocre leading with that example. Been saying that for a couple of years.

it is a refreshing change at our club that a player signs a contract and his form actually improves afterwards.

A James Hird plot to cause distraction?

THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Eventually politicians will have a say. A trustworthy lot they are. Can you see in your crystal ball the AFL and Essendon accepting an adverse decision and consequential penalty? The only way they will be tripped up is with positive blood samples. -

The AFL have enough political and media influence to give it a good crack. The extent of meddling so far is proof of that. -
THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
After reading about the initial rumblings suggesting the AFL reviewing their relationship with WADA I will not be surprised if they will pull the pin on the WADA code. They firstly have to make it politically palatable. Expect a relentless spin campaign by the media attack dogs. -
THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
John Crow Batty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
If they know they have a blood test for TB4 ready within the next 12 months they won't appeal IMO. -
THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES

In the opinion of many I think, including me. -
That was the only saving grace for the game. The guys did have a crack though game was lost. Against Freo we gave up totally and let them leisurely double their lead after we kicked a series of behinds and they goaled first in the last.

I imagi A lot of teams don't respect us and it's our fault because we don't usually fight back after they give us an early pummelling.

Don't underestimate the Hawks or even the Swans for poor early season form. It was the same story for both early last season. The real question is; are any of the fast starters true stayers come September?
