Adelaide v Melbourne POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 3
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Somehow I feel we are jinxed everytime Howe takes a speccie. We seem to do not much after that. I don't recall us ever winning after he takes one. -

Poor goal kicking kept us away from genuine striking distance and not as clean in the wet limited our forward opportunities. Walker's 3 goals is the luckiest 3 bag he will ever get. McDonald cleaned him up. -
For all his stuff up Watts still manages the only goal assist of the quarter. How the Fluck do you turn this guy around?

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES

I bet even though Gil said he wants the evidence to eventally be made public in in timely manner, I doubt it would ever see the light of day. Just like Hird and Dank were chomping on the bit to have the truth revealed. How can anyone trust justice delivered in secrecy behind closed doors? No me, so I have no respect for the tribunal, judges and their decision. As far as I am concerned they are as corrupt and tainted as the system. It is for them to prove to me otherwise. -
When Jones starts to bust open packs at will, get a couple of flags under his belt and a Brownlow on his resume, I might entertain the comparison.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
John Crow Batty replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
In the current game a 100 goal plus goal kicker is a bit unrealistic. Last happened in 2008 for any club. Though Hogan is as good a bet as anyone to get there someday. -

Not much has changed. This happened with unflexible regularity in the Northey, Balme and Daniher days also. Every time we looked like we may have been the real deal we fell flat on our arses the following game. -
POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 2, 2015

My biggest concern was our complete mental capitulation. Shows the ugliest feature of last seasons second half is still present. May not be an aberration as it was evident in practice matches and to a lesser extent against an also out of sorts GC. -

We need to knock off at least five. One or two per season will still keep us in limbo land. -
Dawes form has always been patchy since he joined us and even at Collingwood. He will play some good games as well as some bad. Last week he looked badly out of touch. A few games barring injury or suspension is needed. Becoming a consistent player is what his season is all about.

Are our players worthy to wear such a jumper after our insipid capitulation? I think not unless LMF is stamped across the chest.

Loved the days back in the 90's when there were bio mechanics expert witnesses presented by Collingwood to help get Nathan Buckley off several blatant striking charges. Involuntary actions they were deemed. And it worked.

How can anyone have any respect for the AFL tribunal? Always loaded to favour a select few clubs. Smith got injured as a consequence of an illegal tackle. Even if not hurt he should have got a free kick. They got Ballantyne right but he doesn't play for the select few.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 2, 2015
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't buy the talk that GWS simply beat us because of their superior midfield and talent. We had them on toast early. Our attitude and application after QT was pizz poor. Whilst Jones is our best player and sets brilliant solo personnel leadership by example he is no leader of men. No one rises to great heights to follow his example. Because his personal form was off there was nothing to provide any sense of leadership left. Another of our recent clayton's captains if he can't impose excellence on his teammates when his personal game is down. Sadly there is no one to take up the slack to support him. -

Hopefullly WADA can get their blood test for TB4 out soon. Then there will be no where to hide. I also wonder how long Essendon can keep up that game stlyle. Drugs or no drugs they will burn out like they have done before playing with that intensity. A feature of their game since Hird and Co took over. -

Dawes worked really hard to present and be a target. Problem is he is badly out of touch. -

Dunn was almost AA form before he signed his last contract. His form has dropped markedly from the very first game after he signed. Been about average to OK since then. -

Any supporters going to Adelaide next week has a better chance of ending up as road kill than us winning. -
