  1. Strange reading a thread where everyone is in unanimous agreement.
  2. I wonder if they will use this occasion as an opportunity to rehabilitate Hird? First thing that came on my mind.
  3. We should have had a 10 win season. I fear our side most when I suspect they wont turn up to play never mind the opposition. When is this is likely to happen? 1. After any win. 2. Playing sides we are fancied to beat. 3. When media hype suggests we are improving. 4. When the maths say we can't make the finals and the players shut up shop.
  4. To be fair Clark got shoved into Brown's direction also. Brown might have courage but he should be aware there was a big lead up teamate in the box seat for the ball and in best position to take the mark. Brown most times tries to do everything on his own. If a teamate got into Hogan's space like that he deserves a whack in the chops too.
  5. Can't see nothing wrong with pissing in a cup. I wouldn't mind seeing our whole team filling up the 2016 premiership cup.
  6. Next thing they will be riding Harley's to complete the deekhead look.
  7. Easy, play Hogan down back at up until he signs a new contract extension.
  8. I missed the game, but if Ollie is like you say then that will be a boon to our midfield. It is a great frustration to see many of our regular midfielders all too often get first hands on the ball and don't know WTF to do with it.
  9. One comment we won't hear from Hogan is; " I've made my bed, been rusted in, call it what you like. I'll leave the money and contract talk till later. Right now my ambition is to help drag this club kicking and screaming towords premiership success." Is just not done in modern football speak.
  10. Well JB and NR are bona fide one club champions. Maybe there is something cryptic in the Ox's comment?
  11. Last season we showed we can play well without him. Against Geelong our forward line was the most fluid and functional for years. Of course I want him to stay but if he goes I hope he plays like a true demon so he can leave with dignity if so. But I don't want to see the club held to ransom and everything revolving around him for the next two seasons. Last season we tended to make him the be all and end all focus of the forward line. I prefer him to be a role player and let's see how much he gives. PS. I thought I saw him or someone that may be impersonating him at a Perth restaurant last Sunday night with a female companion.
  12. A pattern with these kind of rumours is that if they are still around after a couple of months then the chances dramatically increase that they may be true. We had seen that with Ablett, Scully, Buddy and Frawley for starters. The rumours just surge along and develop like a tsunami. Spurious rumours fizzle out quickly. I hope this one is forgotten come round one. At this stage I don't expect Viney to take any notice but if the talk persists I would expect him to debunk this rumour emphatically.
  13. Rumours happen all the time. But I would be concerned if he came out and said I want to be one club player.
  14. No time for Jags. Performance and good looks but deeply flawed and expensive high maintenance just like Mr Tird. My cousin was an engineer for Jaguar and warned me off them.
  15. He will never make it in the Hawthorn spare parts want list.
  16. One thing that will please Hird now is that he can ditch the pleb KIA that was ubiquitous at his regular door stop interviews and go back to his silver patrician Jag.
  17. Would disagree, he has done very well for a player of his modest talents. Success is relative. He can take pride that he was around even as a small cog in Hawthorn's success machine. He knows which side his bread is buttered. This aura of success has no doubt hepled get him his third gig when he was basically washed up after we delisted him at what seems a very long time ago. If he was picked up by a lower ranked club then his career would have been gone and long forgotten by now. May be the kind of guy that will build a career in coaching eventually.
  18. I doubt Hird is the kind of person to take any advice unless it's something he want's to hear. I imagine the lawyers applied the maxim "the customer is always right" in dealing with him.
  19. He seems to be blaming them now for leading him astray with advice that didn't work. Next he will be suing his own lawyers.
  20. I would be wary of engaging Mr Young QC for legal advice. His advice looks more suitable for the WC. http://m.theage.com.au/victoria/james-hird-reveals-how-lawyers-attacked-judges-decision-over-supplements-saga-20160217-gmw8vb.html
  21. Success comes in many different ways
  22. He got to sit in the premiers coaches box in three consecutive GF's.
  23. Yes! I suppose we could look at in automotive terms. We need a reliable engine, gear box, drive shaft and differential. They need consumable service parts like tyres, light globes windshield wipers, spark plugs and oil filters. They get these cheap parts from us.
  24. Ex Melbourne player + Hawthorn = success.
  25. I reckon that SALTA fellow may be involved.
