Bemusing when keyboard warriors read something they don't like from legends of the game and somehow think they know more than them.

The game plan.

Anyone neutral who watched Hogan play on Saturday would have not thought much of him.

Sure now that it has happened it will happen again and again. The AFL should put a crippling price premium on clubs that steal these kind of players even if they go to the PSD. Is the only way to discourage this kind of back door dealing.

Not with Pavich and Sandilands and a couple of other aging players almost certain to retire at seasons end.

THE AGE Points finger at AFL over sports betting.

Three inexplicable losses in identical long odds circumstances in less than a year make even less sense. -
If he is going, then the quicker the better so we can sort out our forward line and future direction with more clarity and certainty. We can't put up with the ever increasing rumours and speculation along with his petulance. So far this season he has been one huge distraction. A trade on the cards at end of season.

All sooks and dummy spitters except Brereton. Cocky and arrogant but walked the walk and multiple premiership TEAM player. For all their illustrious achievements, Lockett, Richardson, Hall, Riewoldt and Jackovich can only boast one solitary premiership between them all. Arguably all selfish un-achieving prima donnas. At his young age Hogan is already miles ahead on the dummy spitting sookiness stakes.

Watched the Hawthorn game and the Hawks bomb the ball down as much as we do if not more. Their forward line gets crowded too. Difference is they all to a man fight to keep the ball there and crumb like hyenas. Not like us and let the ball waltz out with no pressure. Hogan is one of the biggest liabilities in maintaining forward pressure. With his size, strength and mobility, he should be fearsome for defenders on the ground.

If I were in charge I would seriously consider a plan B alternative in case the Roos/Goodwin regime don't get much traction this season and check out some of the Hawrthorn assistants. Someone like Ratten and dare I say Bruce or Yze.

Hogan's attitude issue would have been addressed with him by the coaches last season and this season also. Obviously he can't or won't listen as it appears to be getting worse. The only thing in his favour to change is his youth. However it will be hard to continue tolerating this behaviour if his form does not improve. Arguably we can manage without him for a while.. Last season against Geelong which he missed for reasons still unclear we put in our best performance in nearly a decade. Long time since I saw our forward line clicking as well.

For everyone's info. If going to China it can be harder to watch a game. The AFL App doesn't work over there. There seems fewer hotels showing the games. Where once it was common I have not stayed in a hotel with AFL access over there since 2011. Aussie style pubs outside Beijing and Shanghai are rare as hens teeth and I have not seen one.

Not so sure about that. I wouldn't call that article excellent. Typical Murdoch propaganda against those who don't fit in with his politics or business interests and only fit for lining my canary cage. Can't trust them because there is an agenda there even when they mix truths in with their distortions. -

What's worse than his poor body language is the coaches letting him get away with it or perhaps they can't stop it. What's the remedy?
-
If Hogan is fairdinkum he should be monstering defenders instead of setting himself up for potential frees. He is supposed to be the gorilla forward. Try also hard leading for a change.
-
I would not be surprised if Hogan wants to be dropped. McCarthy at GWS walked out. Hogan perhaps trying a different approach maybe wants to be such a pain in the arse that there is no alternative but to send him on his way.

This is the third time this has happened in less than year. it is a hard stretch now to believe anything has changed or will change.

Analysing yesterday's game -
John Crow Batty replied to stevethemanjordan's topic in Melbourne Demons
When there is no heart and no soul in our performances when "co-incidentally" a fortune can be made backing our non performance it is easy to think of other reasons why. Happens all the time with us. Not pointing the finger to anyone at our club of course. -
Same bull we have been hearing for years. Anything but 100% gut busting effort will expose the shallowness of his words. I hope the team is true to his words.

I dare not say what I truly think. The way we came out and played, surrendering so much possession to a game but semi VFL side tests my rationale of what is possible in an untainted way. -

The more I look at the result and the stats makes me think something smells bad and dodgy. -
I would be curious to know if there were some betting plunges against us before the game.
