Seems to me we can't beat any side mediocre or better that comes to play. Of our wins, GWS were rusty, wasteful and in unfamiliar territory, Pies and Tigers in a deep slump. GC in crisis and Brisbane undermanned and had to travel. We were outclassed by three poor sides we should have beaten but they wanted to win more. We did play well defying the odds against North on the back of a tidal wave of shame. Being used to expecting us kicking low scores has given the illusion that this seasons freewheeling scoring is an improvement but is offset by our pathetic defending which more often than not is the most incompetent I have ever seen by an AFL side. If we can't turn it around it will all be down hill from here on. The tough part of the season is now commencing and I question the players have the balls to take the challenge. More like shut up shop and save their continued "development" for next season.

And the tacklers arm slipping up over the shoulder/neck should be deemed as incidental and insignificant contact as happens like over 100 times in every game usually in packs.

Most honourable persons would like to think they can keep their word on an agreement prior to formalising legalities. But if he was seduced by false hopes and promises then I agree it would be easy to walk away. I am quite convinced these backdoor deals done outside the spirit of the rules happen all the time.

On the assumption he has made a deal with Freo, and the rumours have been around since when Freo were still a powerhouse he could have made a handshake and brown paper bag deal. If he has he must be seriously regretting it now. Though perhaps not legally binding how would he extricate himself from that I wonder.
