This is dreadful doggerel verse I'll admit, but I offer it as a warning to you sicko born again banana evangelists. Banana Poem A long time ago, when the world was young Someone put some food on their tongue They tasted the food, and thought it was nice Most fruit liked it - but banana's thought twice. They held a meeting at quarter past eight Whilst the human's were getting home late They decided they didn't want to be eaten they said "No way, we're not going to be beaten" So time went by, and human's got old Banana's got ready, for their prophets had told That soon shall come the dawn of war. Where humans will rule the earth no more. The humans knew not of the evil banana's plans They made their cars, guitars and aluminum cans And the banana's began to take over the east While humans knew not, and kept having their feast. But time has run out, no more hiding there can be Or else the banana's will kill George, you and me We must take up arms, and fight to the end Because, believe it or not, a banana is not a friend.

Wel there is one bright spot in this. He is no longer a Melbourne player. -
That's funny.

I reckon you'd have to be drunk to be caught driving in Adelaide. -
You're all over me on that one DC. Try a water cannon.

Considering the date - that's faint praise. -
I know my view will be unpopular. But my sense of civic responsibility comes before all else. It's just the type of bloke i am. Anyway you just have to look at my avatar to know I'm a health freak.
-
BTW. All you smoothie health freaks should check page 15 of today's Herald Sin. I can't do the link (Luddite) but it's titled " Smoothies rough on diets". It seems this thread is encouraging obesity and, therefore, in the interests of public health, should be closed

I might go this year. Is the bar open on the night? -
Stuie's comments? No. No. Didn't mean that. Withdraw.

Watching tennis! Jeez! Why don't you go for a drive and run over some cats?

I like the notion of "image over substance". I've been living off it for for years.

Training - Friday 11th January, 2013
Bitter but optimistic replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just want to add my two bobs worth.Attended training today. First time at Gosch’s and only second time ever. I will provide some personal observations below but need to explain that my view was frequently obstructed by the hoards of people milling around Ben-Hur for his autograph. The first thing I liked was the preponderance of big bodies. We will no longer be pushed off the ball like wimps. Hogan was running laps ( at a fair pace too). I can’t believe he is only 17. He will be huge and looks like he could play now. Dawes trained with the main group and was moving freely. Another poster noted that he was fumbly but, at this stage, his building fitness is the main concern. I am a big fan of Jake Spencer, so I watched him closely. He is bigger but kept up the pace in running drills. He also hit his targets by foot on the 3 or 4 occasions I saw him kick. It was very interesting to watch him and Jamar contesting marks. Jamar won these contests. It was as if he was saying, “you’re going to have to do better to take my spot kid”. Dom Barry certainly looked silken and reminded me of a young Aaron Davey. Aaron Davey BTW also looked the goods. Max Gawn was running laps and looked to be moving very comfortably. Rhodan looked very fit and dangerous. I would be putting in the “short ones” to avoid running into him. Overall, I was really impressed with what I saw. The simulation type drills particularly. The wind was flukey but the ball movement was confident and accurate. Our skills looked much improved- 80 replies

What song should the Demons run out to?
Bitter but optimistic replied to DeeZee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thank you Deestroy All - I am wiser for your info. However, I see a weakness. None of the participants had chest hair. I think only hirstute alpha male types should represent our club. -

Toreador Song - Bizet from Carmen. ( Roller door song) -
You really come out with some funny stuff at times. I won't PM - look for the placard option. Good night to all.

Rather a moderator who talks like he does is more likely to undermine the entire forum. As to your second point- perhaps we can discuss it on Friday.
-
Well if there was a moderator around you'd probably get an answer. Unfortunately there's only Rhino.
-
Thankfully It's getting to the point where no one takes him seriously.

There are many posters who have moments of being reactive and/or negative. I am one of the most guilty. But you RR stand alone for being ridiculously obtuse. You arrive out of the ether with multiple quotes that you apparently think "cleverly" attack other posters. I wouldn't mind this, but you are supposed to be a moderator. You are in fact a flamer. The very opposite of your supossed role. You are a pathetic disgrace. A hypocrite.

Come on Sloonatic. Since when has charm counted for anything?
