  1. Saw it clearly on the replay. Garland did have his hands on his back, but Burton dived forward as Garland stretched is arms out to take the mark. That was what indicated the push - it sort of looked like he pushed Burton and went for the mark in the one motion. But replays indicated his arms were bent and practically unmoving when Burton dived. Also, Tippett WAS worst on ground. Five disposals, three marks, one out on the full to three quarter time and he came off injured sometime in the last quarter.
  2. Thanks Adelaide for flooding and Collingwood for kicking not so straight but straight enough to keep us from the victory we deserved.
  3. I explained that in my post. At least kick it to a contest where Jamar or Bate or Petterd could pull off a contested mark. If not, rove it.
  4. Maybe some extra kicking practice will spur his confidence
  5. It's not like he's under much pressure. Many times today we ran the ball out of defence so smoothly through the corridor and then Bruce gets it, sees an opponent 5-10 metres away and panics. And every time he then proceeded to run sideways towards the wing, often handpassing or kicking to a player out there, allowing Adelaide to flood (as they did today). Why would he do that? I think kicking it straight to a contested situation is way better, at least we have a chance of a set shot or for someone to rove the pack and eventually kick a goal. And if he did kick it to a pack and into the hands of an Adelaide player, they struggled to get it into their forward 50 anyway. This is silly for our second-most experienced player to put himself and his team under pressure. Not a good example for our young stars. He won't get dropped though, that's the thing. He's too experienced.
  6. Only because he's 7 foot.
  7. I think Brad Green might beat him to that. They're both natural leaders, but Green has the experience and determination. 6 - Mark Jamar 5 - Brad Green 4 - Junior McDonald 3 - Jamie Bennell 2 - Lynden Dunn 1 - Jack Trengove Sorry to Grimes and Bail.
  8. In: Sylvia, Watts, Rivers Out: Newton, Bartram, Garland Watts needs a game. Richmond is the worst team in the AFL by miles. And to the Bennell haters, 121 SuperCoach points speaks for itself. And SuperCoach is way more technical than Dream Team. If it was 121 Dream Team points I wouldn't have bothered with the stat :D
  9. Travis Johnstone - Jack Grimes if he is moved to the midfield, if not, Jack Trengove Brock McLean - Tom Scully Think before you post.
  10. That's two points for two correct answers. I believe it's a three way race this week. Trenners was most dominant in our third quarter which was also the quarter where we nabbed the lead and kicked 4.3 to 1.1. He also had 23 very good disposals and was one of our best. Melksham should be praised - he was chucking himself at the players as if it was his last game - but it was his first. A great all round effort from him. Bastinac has emerged as a very exciting midfield/tagger prospect for North. He held Daniel Kerr to 3 touches in the first half. Anyways, great to see a win and I think either of these three deserve to win it equally. These three should all get nominations during the year anyway.
  11. That makes me think - how long will Green play for then? He's only 29 but he could potentially play until our premiership (if we win one, which we will :D). He did mention he wanted to play to his mid-30s. And I reckon Junior this year, Bruce in 2012.
  12. God, you really are on something if you think that's our bottom three from last week. Dunn had one of his best games yet, Bennell played fairly well IMO and Bate was solid in the midfield/forward. Strauss however should be dropped as I think he is a little too inexperienced.
  13. Watts is injured for a few weeks. I think we have to go in imagining that we're playing Collingwood, because we REALLY want to beat them and that's why we played so well on Saturday.
  14. Every great team has a few lower order picks that turn out to be stars - look at James Hird (pick 93), Dane Swan (pick 58) and Matthew Boyd (rookie). And that's just from instant memory. There's two I can think of for Melbourne - Aaron Davey and Jordie McKenzie. And I'm surprised Bartram is actually still on our list. I don't rate him very highly and I don't think there are many that do.
  15. No need for apologies Billy, but Petterd is the best we have for FF IMO. Watts is a CHF type player and Martin...well, he isn't a long term solution. But when you've got someone who can lead, run, throw himself at the ball and take big pack marks like Petterd, you'd want him in your team.
  16. You realise Petterd was best on ground, right? Slightly off system much
  17. 6 - Ricky Petterd 5 - Mark Jamar 4 - Brad Green 3 - Jack Grimes 2 - Aaron Davey 1 - Jordie McKenzie
  18. Don't even get me started. First one that comes to mind was actually when the umpire pointed the wrong way for a free kick. Oh wait, he actually did it TWICE. But then again, Melbourne are hated by the umpires IMO. Seems like there's always a lot of games where there's free kicks paid against us for absolutely nothing. Also, Strauss' one was bulls--t, and I remember late in the last quarter Davey went for a mark and got bumped in the shoulder (I think) and there was no free paid. And I strongly believe that Petterd was tripped in the last contest about two seconds before the siren.
  19. He can take a big contested mark, he's a long kick, he can run and dive very well, and most importantly, he kicks goals. So, he seems like the perfect candidate. What do you guys think? By the way, he's getting my six points today VERY easily. He nearly won us the game, but he didn't take that mark in the goalsquare in the dying seconds (cough TRIP cough)
  20. I think GC get 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12. Or I'm crazy
  21. So should you, you probably should re-read that and realise that he said 'Oh, ok, so it WON'T be a 100 point thrashing'
