  1. With a net over them, to stop missiles being thrown! @Rab D Nesbitt If the Dees put on another meek KB show, I may be forced to channel my inner Millwall and fly the flag in the Trident area 😂
  2. I’d be interested in what the membership split is. I’d have thought the reserved seats would be more than 20,000 if you include MCC/MFC members and all the Demon Seats, Trident, Redlegs etc. Regardless, they shouldn’t be charging MFC GA members extra: as you suggest, a nominal handling fee to reserve a seat.
  3. I know - they get in everywhere. Last year, we had Demon Seats memberships, yet there they were, spilling beer over everyone, sitting where they wanted. Stewards just shrugged.
  4. @DubDee - you should check with the club as, if you have a GA membership you should be able to get into every home game. There may be less choice of seats, but your membership should be counted as a ticket already sold. There’s no way you should have to pay extra just to get in.
  5. I agree @Monbon - nowadays, so many of us (myself included) are removed geographically from our families and communities, that we miss the grounding and the connectedness that it brings. It’s humbling to see a culture which remains so connected to itself, in spite of everything it’s had to deal with.
  6. Jumped on here to see if others had posted about this. An incredible piece of footage on so many levels. Very proud that it is OUR club that has forged an environment of care and acceptance. It makes us all stronger - it’s the way forward.
  7. Seconded - great call @binman - I’d love to hear more about his indigenous background.
  8. Hi all - I appear to have been given an additional 2 General Admission guest passes as well as my usual seats. Is this normal?! If so, I’m happy to pass these on at no cost to any Demons who might like to go tonight, but want to make sure that they will get you in!
  9. A shower of sh— Pretty much a full strength team, we thought the result was a given. Ugh.
  10. Ask Chris Scott - apparently right up til first bounce 🤣
  11. Hawthorn are like Neeld-era Melbourne 🤮 Commentators fawning over Geelong - I can’t wait to play them!
  12. I know I go on about it a bit, but the levels of sensationalist journalism around the AFL are a disgrace. A stupid non-story like this is given a blaring headline and all of a sudden it’s in the news. Same goes with Luke Jackson - whatever you think of his move, getting blasted by the AFL media after 2 games is disgusting. Of course, be critical after a poor performance, but some of the stuff that comes from supposed senior commentators like Kane Cornes, just to make a headline, is awful.
  13. What is his core philosophy in terms of athletic development and where did he develop his ideas?
  14. 💯 Brisbane are not very good - we beat ourselves tonight.
  15. 6. Pickett 5. Gawn 4. Petracca 3. Lever 2. Chandler 1. Spargo
  16. Great to be back at the footy, especially when we play like that. The skills, especially the kicking, were so much better than last year (save for a couple of wobblers!). We also looked so fit. A nice highlight for me was deep into the last quarter, when McVee (who looked gassed) willed himself to a contest with English and spoiled the ball out of touch. Brayshaw ran over and gave him the biggest bear hug, like he’d just kicked the winner. He’s going to be something - what a pick up.
  17. Train from Balaclava with 2 of the kids, to take up our new place in the posh seats. Cannot wait for this season.
  18. I only saw a replay of the game, but it looked as if our kicking had improved greatly, but also the movement by hand - do you think this is a continuation of the long handball theory from the back end of last year The in depth analysis is so much appreciated - the pods are getting better and better. It would be great if you could somehow get Goody on, to have a chat with @binmanabout the loading and tactics theories. I’m sure he wouldn’t give much away, anyway, but would be fascinating to hear how close you guys are in your observations.
  19. I think this was the best attended of all the family days I’ve been to: it was good fun and the vibe was more low-key. Ben Brown is a quality human: it’s an admirable thing to see somebody so comfortable in themselves.
  20. Great information @Katrina Dee Fan and @dworship - thanks heaps.
  21. Hi guys - I’ve just upgraded our Family Membership to Trident, after being on the waitlist. I notice that the package includes things like access to function rooms where players are interviewed before the game. Could any existing Trident member let me know what the process is for this - ie do you need to reserve a table? Thanks!
