GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
@Rab D Nesbitt - sorry to tell you that there will be Pies fans amongst us - even in Trident and Redlegs: in advance of this game, I added an extra seat to our family membership in Trident as I knew there was a spare seat available next to ours (KB is the one day that all our family goes to the footy together). I then got a call from the club on Thursday apologising profusely that whilst this seat would be ours for the remainder of the season, it would not be available for the Collingwood game, as Ticketek had identified it as vacant and already sold it! Hopefully it’s a Dees supporter that has got it, but past experience tells me otherwise. By the way, the club found us a seat directly in front of us, so not all bad.

TRAINING: Tuesday 6th June, 2023.
Thanks @kev martin for all your training reports: an invaluable service to Denonland! Much appreciated mate.

MBJMcV!
That little baulk that he does is becoming a trademark move now. What I love about his play is his composure with ball in hand: everything around him seems to slow down when he has the ball - this sort of thing you can’t learn.

Kings Birthday Sold Out
With a net over them, to stop missiles being thrown! @Rab D Nesbitt If the Dees put on another meek KB show, I may be forced to channel my inner Millwall and fly the flag in the Trident area 😂

Kings Birthday Sold Out
I’d be interested in what the membership split is. I’d have thought the reserved seats would be more than 20,000 if you include MCC/MFC members and all the Demon Seats, Trident, Redlegs etc. Regardless, they shouldn’t be charging MFC GA members extra: as you suggest, a nominal handling fee to reserve a seat.

Kings Birthday Sold Out
I know - they get in everywhere. Last year, we had Demon Seats memberships, yet there they were, spilling beer over everyone, sitting where they wanted. Stewards just shrugged.

Kings Birthday Sold Out
@DubDee - you should check with the club as, if you have a GA membership you should be able to get into every home game. There may be less choice of seats, but your membership should be counted as a ticket already sold. There’s no way you should have to pay extra just to get in.

The Meeting Place
I agree @Monbon - nowadays, so many of us (myself included) are removed geographically from our families and communities, that we miss the grounding and the connectedness that it brings. It’s humbling to see a culture which remains so connected to itself, in spite of everything it’s had to deal with.

The Meeting Place
Jumped on here to see if others had posted about this. An incredible piece of footage on so many levels. Very proud that it is OUR club that has forged an environment of care and acceptance. It makes us all stronger - it’s the way forward.

General Admission guest passes
Hi all - I appear to have been given an additional 2 General Admission guest passes as well as my usual seats. Is this normal?! If so, I’m happy to pass these on at no cost to any Demons who might like to go tonight, but want to make sure that they will get you in!

Hawthorn are like Neeld-era Melbourne 🤮 Commentators fawning over Geelong - I can’t wait to play them!

Steven May caught driving with a suspended license
I know I go on about it a bit, but the levels of sensationalist journalism around the AFL are a disgrace. A stupid non-story like this is given a blaring headline and all of a sudden it’s in the news. Same goes with Luke Jackson - whatever you think of his move, getting blasted by the AFL media after 2 games is disgusting. Of course, be critical after a poor performance, but some of the stuff that comes from supposed senior commentators like Kane Cornes, just to make a headline, is awful.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
Great to be back at the footy, especially when we play like that. The skills, especially the kicking, were so much better than last year (save for a couple of wobblers!). We also looked so fit. A nice highlight for me was deep into the last quarter, when McVee (who looked gassed) willed himself to a contest with English and spoiled the ball out of touch. Brayshaw ran over and gave him the biggest bear hug, like he’d just kicked the winner. He’s going to be something - what a pick up.
