  1. Does he have pace? That's what we are really missing in our mids.
  2. Your point being? Rudeboy is not a prolific poster, and as there is little to report on re LJ, he probably sees little point in doing so. Please don't look for conspiracies...particularly when the guy has been extremely forthcoming with information when we have wanted it.
  3. Nathan Jones not so long ago, tweeted he following: Shout out @BradMilzy What a legend of a bloke. Quality leader & player with awesome resilience.Congrats bro on a sick career!Yew! I've seen nothing else indicating his retirement...but if not retiring, seems like a strange tweet.
  4. ?
  5. Yet O'Bree thrived at Collingwood...doe this tell us that he was not a failed high draft pick, but a player hampered by development at one club and aided by it at another?
  6. Had to love Bruce McAvaney's comment that was retweeted by Mitch Clark: "Still got a bit of pedophile about him though."
  7. KingDingAling... perhaps you should make the sporting gesture of offering your forum name to GNF... god knows he's earned it with that post!
  8. Dunn will not be going anywhere... it was maybe a close shave, but I think the club sees some upside.
  9. I disagree... how many of our high draft picks and rookie draft picks have won the Bluey (which is irrelevant as it is internal so is not a good indicator) or reached AA status over the past decade? I would argue that those who have are more the exceptions that prove the rule. Players in the top 10 to 15 draft picks are there for a very good reason. If we had opted for Nic Nat over Watts, there would have been just as many complaints, if we had not taken Scully and Trengove, these forums would have gone into meltdown (the biggest argument was over who should be ranked 1 and 2). Give Misson and the rest a good go at the list and lets see how things are looking following another full pre-season (they were NEVER going to get the list into shape in a single pre-season). Also, bring in some recruits such as Cloke who are from clubs with a stronger culture, so that they can add their influence... we saw it happening with Clark almost from the day he arrived at the club; we need more of that.

  11. I think that if you look at MFC's drafting in isolation, then yes, it looks pretty ordinary of late, but with a few gems as well... if you look at it in terms of the bigger picture (all clubs), I think you will find that we have done no worse than most other clubs, if not all. Rather than poor drafting, the problem is more likely to have been in our development of these players and until more recent times, our facilities. These things are changing for the better with new development staff and better facilities, so as fitness levels improve, we will hopefully start to see a few of these so called "duds" stepping up.
  12. Now we'll have to call him "Laurel" Dunn.
  13. No mention of Pickett? Tingay had a bit, Tapscott has it, Jones has it but in a very controlled way, Clark has it and Spencer is starting to show a bit as well.
  14. According to a Nathan Jones tweet: "Can't get a photo of the mo! He wants serious $$$"... so I'm assuming the answer is no.
  15. No, not Blease getting a nomination for Rising Star, and no, Neeld hasn't handed in his resignation... Dunn has removed the 'tache!! It's gone! He is bereft of facial hair! He's had a shave! This will be joyous news to his numerous critics.
  16. Well, between RRs persistence and your persistence, it's not hard to tell who is having more success when taking a look at the count.
  17. Well, you can't make yoghurt without the right culture, so why don't we take some of that culture, put it into our club and let it spread through the rest of the group... in other words, get Cloke and a couple of strong (and hopefully, pacey) etsablished midfielders.
  18. In an earlier post you compared Jakes hit out count with that of McEvoy (28 vs 39?)...in all fairness you should perhaps also compare their game time experience (very important in ruck men I would think)... Both are 23 years old, both commenced their playing careers in 2009 (Jake debuted in Rd1 2009, so I'm not sure where your 5 yrs comes from)), Spencer in an injury interrupted career has a total of 14 games under his belt, McEvoy has 66 games worth of experience. The last couple of games have shown it is starting to click for Jake... If he can stay injury free, I would contend that by the time he has 66 games worth of experience, he will be light years ahead of the likes of McEvoy.
  19. A team in its first season is going to be pulled up for tanking????? This thread is utterly pointless.
  20. If we're so bad, then please feel free to go and follow another team. RR made some valid observations, but you nay say purely because these observations were made by RR.
  21. Didn't I read somewhere in the last couple of weeks that Green has done (or is doing) a coaching course? If so, I wonder if there's any chance the MFC might retain him at the club in some sort of role that could allow him to gain the practical experience that could see him eventually progressing to an assistant coaching position.
  22. Well, I'm a big Divine fan...are you related? ;-)
  23. In effect, the club maintaining silence over what transpired is, in a way, making it as bad as the Doggies case, because Joe Public will think the worst (why would a club dump a Brownlow favourite for two matches heading towards finals time?) and rightly or wrongly, by extension the AFL will be criticised for not reigning in this sort of behaviour.
  24. Let me think... one guy who happens to be one of Western Bulldogs best performing players found semi conscious with a small amount of "E" in his possession, followed by a brownlow favourite being suspended for two weeks by his own club (who won't give any further details) for being out in the wee small hours and later dobbed in by a team mate for the state he was in at practice? If I was the AFL, I might just be a little concerned over this kind of publicity for the game.
