  1. Word has it that Roos will be taking along a Tip Top sandwich loaf and a Birds Eye fish finger and distributing them among the entire crowd. And if it rains? Well... just make sure you have a wine glass with you.
  2. You wouldn't want our players not to go in in defence of one of their own would you? So it should be on the forums as well
  3. I can't believe some of the nastiness that starts to rear its ugly head when Saty passes on such information to us. I have met him a couple of times when I've been in Melbourne and managed to get along to training and Saty does have an obvious rapport with the players and they don't just give a passing nod, but do respond well... the fact that he tells it like it is (his relationship with the players) rather than taking a more humble approach should not be a problem.
  4. I'd be all for that... otherwise, I wouldn't mind seeing us make a play for Patton whenever he is available (he's contracted until?)... perfect replacement for Mitch in that he has a strong pair of hands, excellent shot on goal and a handy second ruck option.
  5. A good measure might be how you react yourself when you get people rubbishing you over comments you make when posting on these forums. Does it have an adverse affect on you or do you just keep going about your business as usual and maintain your same posting style? Does it affect your daily life, your ability to work etc? Saty cops a hell of a lot of rubbishing on here, but he continues to post without changing. Most players would not be new to the internet and forums (many have probably been involved on footy forums themselves in the past)... they would know the score and they would understand that most of the nasty posting would be from anonymous keyboard heroes who have probably never kicked a ball in anger themselves. If they can survive the "in your face" critics on the other side of the fence when they are playing, then I hardly think a few comments by some here would have any affect.
  6. Can't see why... taken in the context of a conversation (as opposed to an isolated comment) it would probably just elicit a smile and appreciation for the thought. hardly worth singling out for criticism.
  7. Well, the thing that would ensure the club removes all thought of changing clubs would be to win the last 4 games of the season (assuming he gets up to play). hmmm, Hawthorn, Giants, West Coast at Patersons and Kangas at Etihad... well, if the team ever need an incentive to win those games, there it is.
  8. The perfect time for a nice mixed metaphor... they are clutching at straw men.
  9. With the way Dunn, Jetta and Pedersen have lifted, it's almost like we had an extra three new players come in during the off season... we got JKH, Salem, Riley, Vince, Cross, Tyson, Dunn, Jetta and Pedersen.
  10. I think we need to give Return to Glory some sort of an award for having his wish come true... in the Game Day thread before the game commenced (page 2 or 3), it was RtG who said: "dees by a point, to heap misery on their dark souls" Well done RtG!!!
  11. My son's in the same boat... he's just truned 12 and hasn't seen a lot of success. It was certainly a lift for him though after his team, the Newtown Swans, were suffered a 38 point loss to the ladder leaders earlier in the day.
  12. I only read the first page, but what I found interesting was that no one was blaming the umpires or the ASADA business... in fact, there were comments dismissing excuses and stating that they were just a plain rubbish side.
  13. Yes... if that comeback doesn't give them the self belief they need to start winning a few against quality opposition, nothing will.
  14. Well, I don't think he would have much of a case arguing that Roos hasn't met his side of the bargain where improvement is concerned.
  15. I liked the fact that Bomber Thompson gave the press the firm message/warning, that no one should be blaming the ASADA notices going out for the loss... he said that they have had 2 years of that pressure and should be used to dealing with it.
  16. I don't know why they don't signal play on with the whistle... perhaps three rapid bursts? I doubt the players would have heard him calling out over the crowd noise.
  17. Might be an idea to use quote marks... otherwise you may feel the heat of a few on here
  18. You also said it was the second time in two weeks Roos has been out coached... you repeatedly stated we had not improved from the Neeld days... you are gutless. And going by the second last sentence above, you have to be Yze_Magic!
  19. I believe in a person having the courage of their convictions... H-H's a repeat offender... let him take the long walk off the short pier.
