  1. Phew! Thanks for that Gorgoroth.
  2. If this is true then Crossy will certainly lead by example. An incredibly fit guy. Thanks Daniel for your great contribution to the MFC over the past two years. We will certainly miss those timely intercepts on the backline and your leadership on and off the field. A true champion.
  3. He will always be better than a plodder. He has good skills and a good footy brain. Bear with him.
  4. I was very impressed with Sam in the pre season game against the Dockers. He is very fast and will develop nicely I believe. Look forward to seeing him action again.
  5. Thanks for that WJ. Great memories. I was up a bloody ladder painting my guttering on our new house listening to the broadcast on good old 3AR. I couldn't get to watch the game as they brought in a ticket system which was a real lottery. In previous years we lined up at the MCG about 9am and rushed in when they opened the gates. Anyway, back to the last minutes, it was a wonder I didn't fall off it was so exciting. It looked like all was lost when C'wood hit the lead with not much time left. Then good old Froggy did the job! He was a very good cricketer too playing for Victoria as an opening batsman, Sadly, he left us some time ago.
  6. Big Maxy has bolted into the limelight. His ruck work is outstanding with many deft, controlled hit outs and his pack marking has improved out of sight. Love his agility when the ball is on the ground. It is a long way down for a guy his size. I am looking forward to his continued development. Well done Max.
  7. Nor do I DD is a bit biased when it comes to Jack. A BIT biased did I say?
  8. Better get the great man's spelling right. Barassi, one R. Cheers.
  9. Jeff also is very unselfish too. One of Hogan's goals was beautifully set up by Garlett. Love his tenacious tackling and chasing.
  10. And don't we love his unadulterated smile! The face of a boy who has been a Demon supporter all his life. He is living his dream and good on him.
  11. All of those mentioned plus having two guys Hogan 44 and Garlett 40 to kick over 40 goals. How long since that has happened?
  12. He is a lot tougher than you. Have you played the game at all? You don't have to be a basher like you seem to want.
  13. Calling him gutless, spineless, weak, soft is a reflection of him as a person. Think about it if I called you that. You would be affronted.
  14. The sad part of of this saga is that his critics talk like he is a monster, a law breaking fiend. They are not supporters of the MFC but arrogant critics who lack football knowledge. Jack has had a good season and is a wonderful role model for the kids. The way he absorbs these ravings demonstrates that he has great intestinal fortitude. An important human characteristic.
  15. I looked at Nik Nat's so called 'beauty' tonight against a very weak St kilda side.. He had 16 possessions-nothing sensational. 3 goals including a lucky one off the ground, 4 tackles - nothing to write home about(JW had 7 last week), ONE mark , one mark for a bloke his size! (Jack had 8). He attracts attention because of his hair style and his leaping ability. Let's see how he goes against the Hawks next week.
  16. And neither does your rambling.
  17. You reckon? He is athletic but a footballer he is not. Over rated just because of his spectacular ruck knock outs to no one in particular. You just don't like Jack Watts do you?
  18. Thanks for that Daisycutter. I watched Stuey play every week for five seasons and I was sure he was a left footer. Oh, to see those long, driving kicks up into our forward line with big Bob Johnson ready to grab and goal. 'Those were the days my friend we thought would never end'. That's how the song goes I think. Sadly they did end.
  19. I am fairly sure he was a left footer but you have now got me thinking Jack. He was a rover /forward teaming up with Ian Ridley to form a deadly roving combination. Maybe Old Dee or someone else can clarify which foot Stuart used to kick. Maybe poster Stuey would know or Whispering Jack. Let us know guys!!!
  20. 'A long raking left foot kick'. Us oldies will immediately think of the great Stuart Spencer. Sorry, I'm salivating at the thought. But don't get too excited by this post. I reckoned Sam Blease could be our new Bluey Adams but sadly was very wrong. It would be good though to get one out of two right. Here's hoping. Good luck to Mitch.
  21. Me too. Cross was fantastic in his efforts and it is a perfect insult not to offer him one more year. If I had any doubts about the wisdom of our football department I have none now. I can now see clearly why we are going nowhere. They are constantly making decisions which inhibit our progress. Ask yourselves the question: Why have we been left so far behind the likes of North Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Richmond and even the Saints? I guess it all started with Junior's sacking and refusing Bruce a 2 year contract which he deserved to get. Robbo too was given his marching orders. Were Yze and Green also gently pushed? Crazy. A big shake up needed here.
  22. That was a tough call on Newton Clint. He gave the Docker 30 metres start over a distance of 20 metres. Even Usain Bolt wouldn't have got near him.
  23. The spelling is BABIJCZUK. I know because I taught him at Noble Park High. He was a great kid and a fine sportsman excelling in athletics e.g. the Decathlon. Unfairly blamed by some on this forum for players getting soft tissue injuries over which NO trainer has control.
  24. Thought the same thing. His footage as a junior was fantastic. I was thrilled when we secured him in the draft. Good luck Sam.
  25. 6. Cross 5. Viney 4. Garlett 3. Watts 2. Salem 1. Grimes
