Both were the scapegoats on this forum. Bruce for his disposal despite his gut running and high possession count and Watts for his lack of gut running despite his sublime skills. How would a combination of the two go? Imagine if Jack could start winning the ball like Bruce did. He would be an absolute gun. Here's hoping!

Love your story 13th flag is coming. The cruel part was the fact that if the bloody umps had heard the siren Buckenara would have had to take his set shot from 50 metres out. Could have been a difficult shot from tired legs and a heavy ball. Also Jimmy would not have had to worry about picking up any forward near the goal and thus no15 metre penalty would have happened. Water under the bridge now but still sad, so sad .

Thanks for that bananas. Brought tears to my eyes to hear that roar and the jubilation of the players and supporters. What excitement it was! ironically, Hawthorn got us in the finals and then pushed us out. But who could ever forget the way we thrashed North and then Sydney. May we see these days again and SOON!

And what about the Bulldog player who used the goal umpire as a step ladder? Fair bit of contact there I reckon. I am not suggesting this Bulldog should be investigated but just comparing it to Minson's case.
-
It is good to see Jack back to the way he can play and with BETTER disposal. Adds another string to our bow.
-
Surely Jeff Garlett's boomerang goal was deserving of a nomination? The eagles player's goal was on the run, not far out and almost directly in front. No player pressuring him. A very straight forward, standard goal.
-
Who played on Tory Dickson? Last week he kicked 7 goals against the Dockers and this week just 9 disposals. He netted o goals 1 behind.
-
Fair enough comment Demonated but Buddy did gain 46 points. Frawley must have done well but surely there were more impressive defenders out there from all teams at the weekend. I certainly agree with you on Vince. He must surely be A grade at his best.
-
James Frawley? 4 kicks 5 handballs, 9 possessions. 35 points ranked # 20 (second last) in Hawthorn's list. They must have been golden possies. Well done Jesse and Bernie!

He had a huge grin on his face when he realised we were home and hosed. "Up yours Bulldogs!" Was it that he was thinking?
-
Great news. Jeff is a very important player for us and is essentially a ball player. And Jeffy really seems to be enjoying his footy with his new club. Plenty of smiles and encouragement to his teammates. What about that banana goal? Wasn't it fantastic? Goal of the round?

Maybe Michie in for Bail. He gets the ball more and uses it well.
-
Reading on the Bulldogs forum one poster stated that Garlett collected Boyd in a contest and would probably get two weeks. I have not seen the replay but does anyone think that Jeff is likely to be investigated? By the way it was interesting to read the comments of another Bulldogs poster. "I wish the Bulldogs were as well drilled as the Melbourne footy team". Interesting when we have been described by our own as 'rabble'.

I clicked on 'like this' and up comes 'unlike'. I change back to 'like this' and my name disappears. Looks like I can't like this post. Regarding Michie, I agree, he must be given the opportunity to string a few games together without the added pressure that he could be dropped after one game.

And in the past many blamed BB for the problem. Who do we blame now if anyone?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8
Bobby McKenzie replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Disappointing to see Michie dropped again. He has hardly had the chance to prove himself with limited opportunities . Also had to play against the top teams in the comp. Would have kept him in at the expense of young Stretch. I hope he gets another chance. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8

Watts has played many times against the Hawks. Why would this one be different? Silly, unfounded comment. -
A well measured answer to the illogical comments above. Viney and Jetta are hardly C graders as you call them. You mark hard mate!
-
Take out 7-8 top players from the top sides and see how they go! How would Dockers fare without Fyfe, Mundy, Pavlich, Barlow, Sandilands, Mayne, Hill and Johnson? Not too well I would suspect. Too many doomsayers on this forum. Or do we call them Fair-weather supporters? On the band wagon when we win chuck us into the creek when we lose. Grrrrrrrr!
-
I think Michie deserves at least another couple of games to prove himself. My Docker supporting friends over here in the West have high opinions of his ability.
-
Not a bad team Clint. What are the chances of this team happening sometime in the near future? Not a remote possibility knowing our injury count year in year out.But here's hoping it could be a reality. Queen's Birthday V C/wood would be ideal.
-
Hawthorn to make it a hat trick. BUT I HOPE NOT!

Fix the Midfield and we'll rise very quickly!
Bobby McKenzie replied to PaulRB's topic in Melbourne Demons
Was Tyson that bad? I didn't see the game but noted that he had 25 possessions and 89 points. -
Living in Perth and depressed by our score in our clash with Hawthorn, I decided to watch the TV game in Perth, Adelaide V St Kilda. Ex Dee Scott Thompson stood out with 35 disposals and i couldn't help thinking, What if? What if we had kept him at Melbourne? He is so cool and reliable and composed. What a difference he would make to our struggling midfield. Water under the bridge now though isn't it?

Port Melbourne v Casey Scorpions
Bobby McKenzie replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Interesting, since no player on either team had a possession when I just looked at it!
